View Full Version : Yonex Aerosensa 15?
Stijn 12-30-2005, 04:07 PM Hey everyone,
I've just spotted a new Yonex shuttle on a online badmintonshop, the Aerosensa 15. I've never heared of this shuttle and it isn't on the yonex international website neither. However, the shop is trustworthy so I doubt it's a fake. Anyone heared about the AS-15's before?
Here's the link:

Kind regards,
Stijn
Azwok 12-31-2005, 12:10 PM Yea, the site looks like quite a trusty one, but ive never actually heard of the AS 15. Do you think maybe it could be a local thing? Last summer when I was back in malaysia i remeber seeing the AS 5, but I can't find it anywhere in the UK.
cooler 12-31-2005, 05:20 PM whether it's real or not, i'm sure it's ducky :p
LazyBuddy 01-01-2006, 02:26 AM Maybe you can email your Yonex regional HQ, and request an answer on that?
bluejeff 01-01-2006, 03:23 AM 6 AS10 + 6 AS5 = 12 AS15?
:D
Zangetsu 01-01-2006, 06:22 AM Over here in Germany, Aerosensa 15 has just been official introduced by Yonex. So it is not a fake but I cant tell you anything about the characteristics of AS15, sorry.

No, only the AS-15. From what I heared, the AS-15 is made of chicken-feather.
And you can trust the shop, I've been this week, it's all real :)

Woah birdies with chicken feather!! What other animals are used for other birdies? Does chicken feather improve aerodynamic or speed?

chicken feather is usually used for lower end of shuttles. Higher grades use goose.

Does it affect the performance though?
cooler 01-01-2006, 07:36 PM i thot as10 is duck.
With chicken feather, it should called AS 5 instead.

i'm sure yonex would had done extensive testing b4 introducing it.

Probably the durability would be an issue. (as all chicken and duck shuttles are not durable at all)

since we all eat chicken the most, they should apply some genetic engineering into feather design. This should have zero effect on the consumable parts at all.
FlamingJam 01-03-2006, 10:55 AM Aersosena 15 can be found in the UK withour much difficulty however no body uses them cos.....ther awlful , sure yonex will have tested them etc but simply they are low grade shuttles and they fly like well......low grade cheap shuttles.:p durability aint great either :( so dnt buy thinking 'i dont care how they fly as long as they hold together and i can smack it!!' - cos this approach wont work either .....(its a bad approach anyhow mind):)

Azwok 01-13-2006, 05:04 PM Where did you manage to find AS 15 in the UK? Im curious to know.

cooler 12-27-2006, 05:54 PM i'm pretty sure by guessing that chicken feathers can not achieve the performance and durability of duck or goose feathers or else chicke shuttles would be for sale by now.

The Brand New AS 15 is a superb high quality Duck Feather shuttle. Made to the very high standards that Yonex demand it is durable, consistent in flight and importantly great value for money.
Chicken? Duck?
AS-10 9.99
AS-15 11.25
AS-20 11.49
AS-30 12.50
if 20 is better than 15, who is going to buy 15 when they are priced like that?
chessymonkey 12-28-2006, 12:51 PM Chicken? Duck?

well maybe cos 20 really sucked as well..
so u can craw outta the nitemare with as20 and got sucked into
just another as15 nitemare...
by the time u'd have enough with the as15 they'll introduce the
AS21 and the story continues...
ctjcad 12-28-2006, 01:04 PM ...hmm, don't know if kwun/mods want to move this thread to the Shuttlecock sub-forum??..
the_oro 12-30-2006, 05:01 PM i see a tube of as 15 at sports national everytime i go in, it's only 1 tube too with no spot of the shelf. i was planning on buying it ($15) but feather shuttles are too disposable
i bet it's still on that shelf, last time i checked was like 3 months ago

That's exactly the point, and that's why no one is buying it in TW. At least none of my friends or clubs I know do.
