View Full Version : if you are a canadian Badminton Fan
Wedge 04-08-2002, 10:38 PM go to the CBC and thank them for showing Badminton this April 27th, and show your support for them showing more badminton again in the future
this will you about 2 minutes
please help
i konw there have been a few attempts by badminton groups to get stations like TSN to show badminton..but most have failed becuase Not enough badminton players are willing to take a few minutes to help the cuase
lazy ass bastards!
if badminton players (the ones that actually appreciate this sport) aren't willing to support badminton on TV..then who in the hell will?
all you got to do is
1. go to this site - http://cbc.ca/aboutcbc/contact/
2. file out form
3. click submit
Kevin 04-08-2002, 10:44 PM Done and done! Great idea Wedge!
Josh B. 04-08-2002, 11:06 PM But you don't have to be so pushy about it and call others lazy! Maybe some people don't have a care in the world if it's on TV or not but it doesn't mean they are lazy.
Wedge 04-08-2002, 11:16 PM i know
i know there are alot of Badminton players in canada who would like the cbc to show badminton.. i know alot of them own computers and most of them have internet access.. however a very very small amount of ppl will be contacting the cbc about this..the great thing about the interent is it has the potential to bring people together for such causes.. but it takes cooperation and a way for people of like minds to commuicate ..
which is one of the reasons i'm soo mad that there isnt' even a Good solid badminton forum for canadian players
in Nova Scotia, where i live and play badminton is one of the most played, yet *least* appreciated or respected sports..probly in the rest of canada too
Television Coverage (if its of exciting matches) can greatly help..... eventually larger and larger numbers of people will surface who have seen badminton played at a more competitive level ..and slowly peoples perception of the sport changes... people who already enjoy playing badminton will take what they already enjoy more seriously..
can u imagine people being inspired to play basketball haveing nver seen an NBA game?.. just imagine it.. if i played 3 on 3 basketball w/friends in the driveway.. and its the Absolute Only exposure to the sport i've ever had.. do u think it would make me want to become the best bb player i could be? .. could u even compair that to watching the best players in teh NBA on a regular basis?
Josh B. 04-09-2002, 09:02 AM Now, you have a great point there!! I will email them and hopefully others will if they are interested!!
Marky 04-09-2002, 10:48 AM Done.
I never know this can be done easily on the internet.
David 04-09-2002, 01:32 PM Done. Didn't even take 2 minutes.
Wedge, I appreciate the internet myself and it's an endless source of useful information such as your message. If you could use a little discretion in the choice of words, maybe you'll get more people to read on and respond. There are always more than one way to "skin a cat", so to speak.
Done.
Thank you for bringing that topic up Wedge. Now, lets hope all Canadians who read it will respond to CBC. Heck, even the non-Canadians can respond just to help us out. It could be the start to something very promising in the future for badminton in Canada.
TDotSmAsHer 04-09-2002, 07:59 PM hopefully will lead to more badminton supply stores... which leads to more competitive prices.. which leads to cheaper prices for us!
Josh B. 04-09-2002, 08:04 PM Done! I hope this will work! If we can get everyone to do this than it will make it better for all of us Canadians!
Brett 04-09-2002, 10:31 PM Can you do anything for your friends south of the border? Maybe pull some strings with ABC and ESPN? Please?
We're Canadians, not GOD! :)
nightingale 04-14-2002, 04:40 PM I'd rather be the fan of a real life Canadian badminton player - one I've played with, who's taught me alot - in every sense - than one I have to watch on CBC.
Brett 04-15-2002, 10:42 AM Good for you? Nightingale, what kind of response do you want to a post like that?
Didn't u not get it last night again, Brett? Or that's just another bitchie real u?
TDotSmAsHer 04-15-2002, 05:19 PM Someone fill me in....
Didn't u not get it last night again, Brett? Or that's just another bitchie real u?

"Didn't u not get it" I think something wrong with grammar there..
"u" ... should be you.
"Or that's just another bitchie real u?" Have no idea what that is suppose to mean..... Also, bitchie is spelt in correct. "u" should be you. The question isn't even a question!
Overall, improper tone and should be banned from forum. Until the kid passes third grade, I think he is to be kept out!

Can you please explain? I don't think your message was relevant to the topic. This thread was to discuss how fellow Canadians should show some initiative in order to promote the sport in Canada. I also do not know what response you want from that. If you don't like it... then don't watch it. No one is forcing you to. There probably arn't any Canadians in the Swiss opens. I'm not sure.. I don't keep up with pro badminton.
"I'd rather be the fan of a real life Canadian badminton player "
If it there was Canadians in it, what are you saying by "real life Canadian badminton players." Are you saying the national players in Canada aren't real? Hrm....

Please do not post anymore garbage on this forum. Simply, because no one cares. I'd bet a fair amount of money that Brat and Nightingale have the same ip....
