Personally I think that as many people as possible should sign up and pay the few pounds it cost to watch it live at 247.tv.. You can be "cheap" and get someone else to pay, and copy..

But remember if people aren't willing to put some money on watching badminton, there wont be much badminton to watch in the future :crying:

The little window for real player times out with poor streaming. If the advertisement stream times out and is not fast enough, what guaranty will a subscriber have that the paid streaming will be adequate?

Well they have contact, info and a forum, so I guess you could ask if you are entitled to a refund if you pay and they fail to deliver good stream..
That said I've been testing some Squash things on their site and is looking at the real media sample right now (took 2 sek to load 100%).. Seems to be plenty of bandwidth... Maybe it's your ISP that has poor overseas bandwidth.. You could try some benchmarks on UK servers in general..

I suppose we can look forward to another wonderful "highlights" show from BBC Grandstand:

"...and here we join the game at 16-16 in the third game." Followed by two short rallies and then onto the darts or horse racing.

The only difference will be this year, the score will be 20-20, and the games will be even shorter.

sigh~

CHeers,

The easiest option to use is to install a Capture card (something similar to http://www.pinnaclesys.com/publicsite/uk/Products/Consumer+Products/PCTV/PCTV/PCTV+Stereo.htm ) and just use the easy to use software to "capture" the video from the box.. (may need a scart cable with video, audio(L) and audio(r) phono plugs to connect the sky+ box to the card)

Another option is to connect a DVD-recorder (maybe borrow one from a friend if you dont have one) and record the video to a DVD ...
Then finalize the DVD and move it to a PC with a DVD-reader.. and use a program like (DVD Decrypter or something like http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvdfab_decrypter.cfm ) to copy the DVD to a .ISO file on the hard-disk.. This ISO file could be shared on the net, and/or burned to a new DVD.. (It can also be played by Disk-emulation software like daemon-tools etc)

Nope! It is from cable vision.
Ch5, Ch8, ChU and all those what you mentioned are from mediacorp, i.e free TV channels. What I said of CH22 is from Starhub Cable TV. I am certain that no one could not get through from oversea to that channels as it needs subscription plus decoder.

How about semifinal and final schedule on GDTV?? anyone knows??From what I can tell from their schedule (http://www.gdtv.com.cn/newpage/sports/ttdb.asp), the semis won't be live at all. The Saturday broadcast is from 6:30AM to 8:30AM GMT and is a replay of the QF. Also from 6:25AM to 8:30AM GMT on Sunday they are playing the SF so that can't be live. The next broadcast is from 8:50PM GMT and it says it's a re-broadcast of the semi-finals so I don't see the finals there at all.

Thanks,

RonI put the link for GDTV in post *76 on this thread. See above. Get the .latest version (http://www.pplive.com/download/PPLiveSetup1.1.0.4.exe) of PPLive. Sometimes the English website has a download link for an outdated version. I got mine from the Chinese site but the installation and the actual program still have English menus. At present the Chinese site says the latest is 1.1.0.6 but has an installation program named PPLiveSetup1.1.0.4.exe whereas the English site has a program with the same name but it says the program is just 1.1.0.4.

Okay,

I am on that now but no badminton. They are showing soccer. It lists as KDTVS and that confuses me. There is a link in GDTV on TVants, but that shows something else. What is the Chinese character for GDTV so I can try to find it on the PPlive website if I need to in the future?

Their homepage should also give you the Chinese characters for the name of their station but in any case, they are 广东体育台 (synacast://09jN1+TK3K3nnK7LpqfRnNuS09KfoKOZqdOclteap9aZma+ao6 Ohm6nJ0qGe5pzI2dSpmqmdltvbpuvJ4OSmmKWZntedzaTT1eSm oaaVoKvhzebZqp+bnKTModSa19vZqqicmaag5dTc3bCUn6Ca0K fJnt7R3bCdoKCcpOvJ4OSmmKWWntedzaTT1eSmoaaVoKvgzObZ qp+bm6TModSa19vZqqicj+TG3dWpIlkbGzxRPHMxGKqemauXq7 fhyuTM1N/a0Ja44N/e3emfoaCfnJzR39epm6ednqGloqSWoKKam6edqqicmaafqKCcm ZzZ2NXZzrPN5ePg3N7G4tXp). I hear you on the KDTVS confusion. I don't know why. Look for their logo when you tune in:

Mind you, that would likely be there on the non-sports GDTV's, too.
