Since I heard CBC will broadcast badminton on April 27, 2002, I emailed them to show my appreciation. Today, I've got a response from them. Perhaps I may be an optimist, but I feel if I could take only 2 minutes to show my appreciation and they ACTUALLY read and respond to me, ONE DAY, badminton will be broadcasted on tv everytime there's an international tournament. It's these simple steps we could easily accomplish to convince CBC to broadcast our favourite sport. If you say you love this sport as much as you think, then please take 2 minutes to THANK them...remember, it's all about the viewers (us).

Be sure to tune in to CBC on April 27, 2002 @ EST 1:00pm-2:30 (check CBC's website for the actually time)

finally, my complaining emails to the CBC for the last 5 years are working. Maybe i should send a good one to them this year.

Nice to see a response from CBC. But puzzled on their choice of Swiss Open. There are other 4 star tournaments.

I would have thought the AE as being a better choice.

That's probably just a question of money. I am sure that it's cheaper to run clips from the Swiss Open compared to the AE...

It actually doesn't matter about costs. It really matters how the CBC can edit the matches to fit the time slot of an hour and half. That's including Canadian player profiles. This really doesn't leave much in terms of a watchable full game. It's usually cut into the middle of the game then show the last bit and then show the remaining of the last deciding game. It's great that CBC is showing badminton, but a chopped up version is really not promoting the sport in its entirety.

it's better than nothing. Maybe one cbc would show tournament in its entirety during late nights like they do for formula 1 racing, bowling or re-run of old hockey games.

why wait when feedbacks to cbc seem to be working. Remember, government (cbc) runs on grease. They can out do us in the waiting part

I know what you mean, but could possiblly badminton beat over hockey in Canada? I don't think so.
There are a lot more people watching hockey in Canada, now that the playoffs are abou to begin.

yeah but i wish that badminton can be shown on tv instead of bowling, swimming, and cars that go round and round in the late hours after midnight

actually the choice of tournaments may also has to do with the fact that canadian players had a satisfactory performance?

That's true. I think the only Olympic final to have coverage in UK was the ladies singles which featured Camilla. Very frustrating for our UK counterparts.
