I find that any overgrip especially really tacky ones (anything thats sticky) will tend to stick to the original grip at the bottom. The worse case even occurs when you sweat too much and moisture has soaked in the overgrip. When you try to remove it, it not only leaves a remnant of itself on the original grip but it also peels part of the original grip off. I tried double layering it with overgrip but it still didn't remedy it. I've found a temporary solution to this by wrapping the original grip with one thin layer of plastic (Saran Wrap), then placing the overgrip on top. So far its working, the original grip is not being stripped off and there is no compromise to the racquet's playability.
BaMBaM,
that is a great suggestion. one of those things that makes me go "ahh..... why didn't i thought of that before?" :)

it is sometime sarcrifical as the saran wraps will permanently sticks to the overgrip underlayer and one need to patch up with new saran wrap. I am way ahead of you guys. I find saran wrap not flexy nor sticky enough. I currently uses supermarket meat wrapper from leftover roll. :P
always  er

Ultra High Modulus Saran Wrap with Titanium mesh would be the ultimate solution. But seriously, I also prevent sticking by putting some rosin on the original grip before the actual saran wrap.

saran wrap is ok, in my case i just got an easy source of leftover meat wrapper :P, that's all.
cooler,
i hope those are new meat wrappers that you are using, not those one you took off of your juicy piece of fillet mignon...

 it's new meat wrapper, i'm sure of it. I dont want to stink up my racket bag :) I just find the saran wrap less tacky and require more care in preparing the foundation layer. Like i told u before, i do lot of experiments on my rackets. Currently, i just bot some foam liner from hardware store to try. I haven't done any field trial yet but it feels like its not good as real racket grips. It only costed me less than 4 C$ for 5 sq. ft. A cheap experiment.
R u talking abt resin??? what's rosin????

rosin is the stuff, baseball players, gymnyst, etc etc (the powder that they put on their hands) before they do their thing.
Oh ic. I thought that was chalk.
