Hi All,

I have a source that is having the YONEX Nanospeed 9000X or S, 3U version. It is from Sunrise, with the SP code. 100% authentic.

The price should be approx. S$260 without strings. Interested please PM me and I will provide the contact. That guy is my close friend, and I get no commission. It is merely a small favour for the BC members.

Most probably I will be getting my Nanospeed 9000X tomorrow.

Thanks.

Hi Gre8Deal,

Watch your words!!

I am only doing a favour for the BC at zero profit! And I saw the supplier invoice, my friend had only mark up less than S$30/-, don't open your mouth and talk without facts! The price direct from Sunrise is higher than S$220/-, who can possibly retail at $210 - $220?

Wonder if you are kind enough to offer the BC the source, so that my friend can complain to Sunrise; he is also getting his supplies directly from Sunrise Singapore.

I suggest someone should try to PM Gre8Deal and get him to commit 10 Nanospeed 9000X SP Version AT $210 - $220, to be delivered by next Wednesday... to see if he only talk xxxx...

Thanks.

Go ahead and complain if he wants. Pleae dun be a nusiance around here if your friend does not have deep pockets. Let me give you a peice of advice :

If your friend is not in this line for the past 20 years please keep quiet. The % of discount he gets when he buy in such a small volume cannot be compare to big buyers pls.

I cannot afford to waste time on people like you who thinks ordering you 50 or 100 rackets are big time dealers.

I m sure you go to sunrise and tell them give me another further 500 rackets plus additional 10% discount and i m sure they will say OK!

Use your common sense please. How can retailers fight with wholesalers? Sunrise is a distributor. You are a retailer. I m a wholesaler get it?

For ANTS, I believe that he may be capable of even getting it free. I had read all his posts and he is having a high level of integrity in his words.

What I mean to say is that I earn nothing at all. My job is a Software Architect, writing operational and financial software for hospitals and financial institutions, through my own software house. I resent being 'capped' as ripping people off! I even offer those who want to purchase my personal guarantee that if it is not authentic, I will compensate them the full amount...

I am just sad.

Thanks.

You had mentioned over the forum that is being accessed by the public and you had place my personal integrity in question by capping that I had ripped off people by directing them to my friend.

Being a wholesaler give you no rights to defame me in the public!

Please prove that I, HKChua, had ripped BC members off! Else, please apologize and I will consider the case closed.

ANTS and Blue Jeff have never said in their posts that $260 is high or ripoff, please kindly read their posts again. I am very comfortable with what they had wrote. What ANTS means is that you can possibly get at a slightly better price, but... that does not label me as ripping people off. What Blue Jeff means is that may be the racket is not fully reviewed, thus rushing for it may not be adequate...

I am pretty comfortable with their posts.

I m not afraid of being sued by you as i can afford any sum of compensation.

However, get your facts right and see if you have misunderstood my post. I never say you are ripping off people in BC.

What i mean is that there are wholesalers and exporters selling way below $260 which is what i m implying! The price! and did not specifically specified that "you are the one ripping off people"

Substantiate my words?

If i m able to sell you the rackets at $220 each, what will be my form of compensation? Getting you sued?

What a waste of my time.

You know the cost and I do. But... the fact is that people like my friend and people like you yourself have to sustain with the operating expenses. Thus, he nor you will sell at cost.

Basically, he never think of exporting. But... because he himself is a badminton player, he knows the urge in getting such rackets, and he told me he will try to do so if anyone asked.

Nevertheless, businesses are subjected to quotations and acceptance. A price is being quoted and the willing party accepts the price, hoping to get the racket one day earlier.

Thanks again.

As a long time guy in the badminton business, i have seen the ups and downs of prices of rackets. However, for the past 5 years its has only been in 1 directions. In singapore ,I am being forced to sell at low prices as many of the sellers are always trading at minimal profits. I tried to maintain my intergity in the Yonex brand before during 2004 and sustain losses of up $80k for that brand name. Because i refuse to sell it cheap, and then prices come down way below my cost, i incurred losses. But i accept that that is the mode of doing business nowadays. Sell it as fast as you can for whatever cost before the prices come down like a sudden thunderstorm. A $10 profit is better negative profit.

Take for example, NS 8000. 8 mths and the price difference for cost is S$500. imagine you order 100 NS 8000 that will be $50 000 losses.

Cool down guys!:p I believe both of you have the benefit of the general BF members at heart - one is trying to offer an avenue for members to get their hand to the much-talk-about NS9000 earlier, while the other wants other to be aware of the extra premium as a result.:D

On a slightly off-topic question to Gre8Deal, could you enlighten me on how the rackets get to the retail shops in Singapore, such as the ones in Bras Besar and Queenways? I know Sunrise is the distributor and control the South Pacific distribution, but do these retail shops get their supply from Sunrise direct or do they get them through wholesaler who then get them from Sunrise? What about the major sport chain stores such as Sports Link and World of Sports? This is just for my curiosity.

Cheers

Well... thanks for mentioning that I am young, I am already 40++.

Please pardon me for being a bit 'rude', I respect everyone I met, thus do not want to have any misunderstandings being pile up to a mountain. You can see my handsome face here: http://www.aapr4.net/AboutUs/OurChief/tabid/57/Default.aspx :D

Trust me, badminton had made me look younger than actual age, I am almost 45.

If you have a shop and there are no retailers at your area, simply call up Sunrise and most probably they will sell your the stocks. But what Gre8Deal said is true, if you can purchase at higher volume, you get better price. My friend usually only ordered 1000 tubes of the AS40, thus his price may not be as competitive as those those ordered more each time.

Thanks.

Linus,

i have learn a thing or 2 from HK chua who i might need his help in managing accounting for my company. (hahah) therefore i shall not mention company names here.

Heres how it goes. Most, if not all the retail shops in Singapore get their supplies thru Company ABC direct. However, you might have notice the huge price descrepancies between the retail stores. Thats becuase there is 2 Sales division in the company ABC, Local and Export division. Prices at all major retail stores like WOS, Sports Link etc get low wholesale prices as they buy in baulk and are able to get better discount. However, they are commited to the company ABC to maintain a certain selling price, which is why they are selling it at premium prices. However, there are many local retailers like those in Queensway, Bras Basah and Sembawang who are or claim to be export dealers and thus are able to get export prices instead of local prices for thier products. Exports prices are of coz much lower. However, instead of exporting these products, they sell it in their local stores and thus is able to sell it so much cheaper. That is why the descrepancies for the Sports chain outlets and small retail stores like those in Brash Basah for example.

Generally the equation is :

If you can order in baulk, you get better discount. Long time dealer has also slightly better discount (means those with not credit problem)

Get export prices, best discount.

So If you try to order thru their local sales division, your cost is even more than those retail stores in bras basah selling prices! (Ridiculous but true!)

Another thing to note,

TH coded products in Thailand are originals from Japan as well. They are however sold at low prices as the standard of living is low in thailand and they cannot afford to sell at Singapore's prices for example. Else the locals would not be able to afford it. But the head office in japan has been piling up the pressure on their thai distributor to mark up the price to bring them in line with the rest of the region. Rumours about their lousy quality or fake products are of coz not true. TH coded products are selling cheap in SG becoz there is no warranty to TH coded products unless you are able to get it back to thailand. Therefore if the seller of TH products are able to offer you warranty, all the better.

Hope this info helps.;)

I think i m misquoted here. I have never specifically mentioned that HK chua is ripping people off. IMHO i feel $260 is a bit on the high end side compare to what others will be selling later. Like what Blue jeff said, Wait awhile and see what will happen in april, he probably meant prices will drop damn fast.

I think selling badminton racquets is not the worst in BC context where by everyone wants to get the latest models of yonex racquets the soonest and at the cheapest price...in that case isn't it good that you can have access to it so soon and also to get it for yourself at wholesaler price? I can imagine the price that you would have to pay would be so much lesser then what we would have to pay if we buy it from retailers...Yonex is really expensive...:crying: Want to buy one already so heart pain, just imagine if you had to buy two i.e. one for backup?

You should probably be able to see YONEX Nanospeed 9000X in the market by next Wednesday.

Gala at Queensway had quoted me S$320 with strings. You may want to check it out.

But... generally... I agree with Blue Jeff. Don't rush for it, wait for a while. Basically, I am pretty happy with my Ti-10. I purchased Nanospeed 9000X because my ears and fingers 'itches' whenever I hear people getting it. :D Actually.... Not likely that I will give up Ti-10 for Nanospeed 9000X, but.... never say never! :p, let me test it out and if I am very very very happy with the 9000X, my 2 Ti-10 will be on sale! :D

Well... may be... someone should start selling rackets with 4 installments, with a couple of dollars mark up... and an installment agreement signed.

So.... a S$200++ racket can be paid in 4 installments...

Is it a good idea? You play first and pay later... unless you break it in the first game...:D

If anyone were to pay the rackets with their credit cards, they can actually call up the bank and tell them that they want to convert that particular transaction into installment plan with no interests. Recently, I bought a ACER FERRARI computer. Two weeks later, I called the bank asking them to convert into an installment plan, and was granted, no interest charged.

Just curious, does your contact have like G5 Type S's or the 9K's are still out only in G3/G4?

Hi Matt,

Yes, but... there is only limited stock, on first come first serve basis. Please PM me if you need any, and I will notify my friend. If possible, please indicate email address so that he can contact you direct without going through me.

Thanks.

I just went to Gala Sports today, and they quoted me $290 for NanoSpeed 9000X. Same price for S type. When you buy, you also get the string of your choice, grip and Yonex bag.

Hi radianta,
Hey, S$290/- is way too high. U can get NS9K either type at S$260/- at Classic Sport or Sembawang 's Artic Sport. I had checked that out yesterday. I heard my friend was telling me after my game that Flymax in Tampines is offering S$250/-. I haveyet to check it out.:p Personally, I think Type S is easier to manoevre than Type X which is stiffer and head heavy.;)

Where's this Classic Sport? Is it the one in Toa Payoh? Does that price include string, grip, and bag too?

Thx. I'll check it out, quite near to where I live. U have any contact number or address for Flymax? Never heard of it. Anyway, I called up Artric, he quoted me $265. Bras Basah's 10&10 offered same price. I have to admit though, the paint job on the 9000 series is awful.

I actually compared the price between Chau Beng and Gala. The owner quoted $299 - 10% discount, around $269, but that one is the set already strung.

Hi radianta:D .....no need compare any other shops in spore lah.....from what i know, cheapest S$260 is at Artric Pacific or Classic Sports.....plus string of your choice plus grip....and its unstrung. :p Unless u happen to be close friends or associates of the above and other baddy shops bosses...den will be cheaper than S$260 i believed. :p Happy shopping for the NS9K!!! :)

OOps....but if u want Type X...u might have to give Mr Soh of Classic Sports a call first before u go down. Coz i went the day when NS9K was launched two fridays ago to purchase my Type S, he told me he only brought in 1 Type X only....till now did not know did he brought in anymore. :p

Hi everyone! Where is Artic Pacific and Classic Sport exactly? Is this stores inside a mall? If you can indicate the street it would help me a lot in looking at my map. The only place I know to buy racquets are in Bras Basah and in Sports Life in Far East Plaza. I'm planning to go there this coming April. Thanks a lot in advance for the help.

Sorry guys, Armortec 800 still rules among all Yonex raquets. I got my first nano series raquet 9000 X. Not recommended for base line players. Have sold the raquet away since.
