Check out this website from IBF (or WBF).

http://www.worldbadminton.net/rules.asp

Under scoring section it is still using 15X3 for MS and MD. Did those bozo at IBF just change their minds or they are going to claim that they never made up the new freaking scoring system?

A few points:

1. The scoring system has not changed except for an experiment in certain international events - for us non-professional, non-international mortals nothing has changed;

2. The IBF website is notoriously rubbish. It does not even give an easily-accessible copy of the laws of badminton - what you have pointed to is just an idiot's summary, not the laws at all;

3. The experimental laws were on that site a short time ago but they were badly drafted, the wrong version and then disappeared;

3. If you want a copy of the laws they can be found on www.badmintoncentral.com (http://www.badmintoncentral.com).

I agree with you. However, to promote the sport, they should put up a correct version of scoring system. (I still think 15X3 is the correct way and 21X3 is sh*t) For a new viewer who did not notice the game is "experimental", he/she would say why is the game is not over yet? I don't understand. For those who just hear the new point system and check out the IBF website, he/she is going to ask "What the FLUCK was I watching?" I am just real tired and frustrate with the stupid IBF.

badminton Canada is keeping 15x3 until nationals in May then switching to 21x3.

You should refer to the IBF Statutes for 2005/2006. They come in two books with about 300 pages. Everything is there.

nobody really cares about the so called rules of badminton

most people Either already know the rules or dont' care about them anyway because they just want to bat the shuttle around ... those that don't know and want to know will just find out from other players.

Hence my comment that the laws are not easily accessible on the IBF site.

It takes true incompetence to bury a short stand-alone document that all players need to read inside one that almost nobody needs to read and is so large it needs to be split into two parts.

It doesn't say "just" for MS and MD like what you have mentioned.
But it says, I quote :
---------
In men's singles and doubles events, 15 points wins a game. However, if the score reaches 14-14, the side which first reached 14 can choose either to play to 15, or to set the game to 17 points. The final score will reflect the sum of the points won before setting plus the points gained in setting.

Scoring in women's singles is slightly different. 11 points wins a game and there is the option to set to 13 points at 10-10.
---------

Why the "old system" still on site ? Because the scoring system has not changed yet. The new system still in 'Beta' version.
I think the new laws will be online on the site in a short time.

Ok, they may not be the most up to date website when it comes to putting on the latest information. I agree that given this big change to the badminton scoring rules, this is something that should have gone up there straight away.

Anyhow, don't let that put you off the website, especially on reading reports on badminton events like the upcoming Commonwealth Games. I am reporting on the event for IBF. While I am not sure how soon they will put the daily report in there, but you can be rest assured that I will be prompt in sending it to IBF for publishing on their website every day during the Games. Watch that corner! :D
