Before the match :
-Get a good sleep a night before the the tourney.
-Relax and don't nervous
-Eat much enough, but not too much minimum 2 hours before the match.
-Drink not too much.
-Warming up. Make your body (muscles, joints, etc) supple -stretching is a good way to do- and warm enough.
During the match :
-Drink not too much
-Take a bite of banana or a small piece of chocolade between the games
After the macth :
-Drink more to replace your sweat
-Collingdown, stretching.

After a match make sure you stay warm and keep your muscles warm by putting on a tracksuit as soon as you come of the court. If you don't your muscles will get cold and you'll increase your chance of getting an injury.
I try and stop training about 2 days before in case i get injured and thentry and relax, just do what i would normally do. No special foods or anything and i generally dont eat before the games as they always start in the morning and i'm not a breakfast person.
Just try and drink a bit of isotonic or gatorade drinks. After the match i try and go to the cafe for a roll and sausage or if the games are running slow maybe even a mcdonalds.
I'm one of the sad ones that stil do this type of thing, i dont really believe it does any harm to eat or drink what you want and doesnt affect your playing.
Even have to say i have been found in the pub in between events having a drink and watching the football. I actually play better with some alcoholin my body or maybe i just try hard thinking it has some kind of effect. Dunno!
Agree with the keeping warm part, very essential!!!
