Who should be sacked for all the mistakes in badminton?

The tournaments seem to have bad draws all the time...

The world ranking is often late and with faults...

The webpage is more slow and worse than ever...:crying:

The new scoring system is being hated by so many badminton fans...

Somebody must take the blame. Can somebody give us some names?

A diasappointed badminton fan

Can one guy really do so much bad to the sport all alone?

Can nobody stop him then?

Who is supporting him  and why is he not simply sacked?

It seems that all the troubles began since IBF moved to KL. (I am not jeopardizing Malaysian :D ).
It seems also that the IBF staff in KL are not ready to take this big responsibility (I hope I am wrong). I think they need more time to get beter.

If I am asked: Who should we blame ? My answer is: All the delegations who said "YES" when IBF made a decision to move from England.
PG was/is -maybe- the "central figure" of all this decisions. Maybe the "YES" delegations are manipulated by PG. Read this thread (http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=30561&highlight=meeting)
The president -I forget his name- does nothing to stop PG, even no warning. Or maybe the president afraid of PG ?

IBF ran beter when it leaded by the Chinese lady -sorry forget her name-.

Yes, it is very strange, isn't it? Or perhaps it is the other way around? Remember, what is considered good by the powers be get to stay. The bad ones get kicked out, sometimes with brutal swiftness.

But if this Punch is doing something good how can the good or the bad let him stay in power?

Is the system rotten?

I read the other thread on the issue. Thanks for showing this.

This Punch is really a dictator. All around the world, dictators are being overthrown. His time will come then

I hope sooner than later ;)

I heard there are a couple of guys behind PG's actions. One of them is from USA. The guy's name is Paisan. He was promoted to the IBF events committee chair, and it looks like PG was behind that move. Everywhere PG shows up Paisan's name also is showing up. I think there is something going on here.

well all these can't be caused by punch gunalan all by himself. I agree that he might be related to the scoring system, but realistically, is he really related to how bad the IBF site is functioning? It's not like HE'S the one who updates it in his office. Also, blaming him for bad tournment draws...i don't know what to say-.,-... he's not God, he can't just make the officials draw whichever names they want with his almighty powers

by the way, i am by NO MEANS his fan, but let's give him a break

You know what. Lets stop the hate. If you want to know who should be sacked? The chickens should be sacked for spreading their chicken flu to the damn geese who will now perish faster before we can harvest their feathers.

And you people out there. OMG Is there anything else you can think about other than bashing Punch Gunalan. Honestly speaking, if you've watched the commonwealth games where the 21 point rally system was introduced it was so bloody exciting. WTF are you asses talking about. I'm eating my words now that the old system is better than the new one. If you want to use the old system and play vintage badminton (they should create a format called vintage badminton with the old scoring system in my opinion), it's fine. No one's stopping you. Just bloody use it. If not give the 21 rally point best out of 3 a go and you'll see what I mean.

Bloody hell, you guys are acting even more childish as the days go by. From what I've seen so far, badminton has been going stronger. In the commonwealth games, there was a full house for even the swiss games. What does this show??? This shows that this faster paced game is enticing more people. I don't blame the new audience. Badminton is now seen as a kick a$$ sport so to speak and is encouraging more people to get to know the sport.

If you guys can take an objective view of it, and give it time you can actually see that this is helping the sport.

Actually, his name is Gunalan! :D :D :D

However, as a fellow Malaysian, i hope you guys would give us more time. Stop bashing Punch Gunalan or IBF KL office. It is now the transition period. Everyone should be more patient.

I am beginning to believe there is more to Gunalan-bashing than meets the eye. Maybe it is Malaysia-bashing, or Asia-bashing, or fallouts from the IBF move from England to Malaysia.

Frankly, this looks like a disgraceful attempt to stir up racial tensions which are just not there.

Why is there more than meets the eye? The IBF is clearly trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the EBU and to railroad through silly laws changes. It is also supporting as maverick Russian organistaion over the official EBU-affiliated federation.

The move from England to Kuala Lumpur has been a disaster (and that is not a comment on whether it should have happened), and the website is completely wrong and useless.

All of this is very worrying to anyone with the sport's future at heart.

Punch Gunalan is the man at the top who has overall charge. His actions and motives are veryy much open to comment and question.

His actions also require a reaction to take place, so we can see the consequences whether it is hurting or helping the sport. We should wait and see.

I don't think the move was a mistake, to me for long term purposes it would certainly be better in KL since there is a growing popularity in the Oceania region as well

The main problem is IBF definitely did not do enough homework to prepare for the move, they should have prepare everything 1 month before the move and have a trial run from the new place before they even close the centre in england...

Agree, the IBF did not do its homework, at least not well. :( We can only hope and pray for he better. :)

I am not an expert in organisational matters but I would say that moving the office of IBF apparently without bringing any of the employees is a big task.

Even if I am happy and honoured that we have it here in KL I must be realistic. To think that it can be done by preparing for one month is a little silly

I reckon that IBF is doing a lot of specialiced administration and apparently the transition period has been way too short to make sure that big mistakes do not occur.

Given the reactions to this thread I guess that the mistake is with the politicians who decided on the move on such a short timescale.

If this Punch guy is behind then I think he should be voted out.

This is not about hating or anything but sport is also a business. When the business is being run in an unprofessional manner heads must roll...
