Hi:

Just curious if anyone had used or owned a 3U version. I've used 2U's in the past. Did anyone notice a difference between the two?

Also, which places or online shops would carry a 3U?

Thanks

Matt

Are you referring to the Cab 20 Classic? Does anyone know where I can still get one of these?

Matt

Yeah it's the orignal. They are still available overseas.

I have the Yonex 2006 International catalog and it lists the Cabonex 20 available in both 2U and 3U.

Thanks:)

I got both of my modern cab20's from japan at Windsor Racket Shop. You may want to see if they have an online presence and a web store. I have only ever used their real store.

Here is my 2004 one:

And I got the 05 one too, which bluejeff has some nice pics of:

Thanks for the info. It seems that they have a website but not selling online. 2004 model just looks like the original 1984 model except as noted that the color is not original color of greyish and blue or burgundy highlights. I wish they have that for sale here in the us. Wanting to get a couple for a replacement and a gift to my little girl that fell in love with it the first time she touched my original cab 20 from 20+ years ago.

After reading the first link from badder. I'm curious if the orange Cab 20 (which is listed in the 2K6 catalog) is the Cab 20 original? Can somebody confirm?

Thanks

I gotten the catalog from a local sports shop which I normally get my equipment from.

I do have a picture from the catalog. Unfortunately the scanner does not seem to like scanning catalogs well. Please forgive the quality, I did the best that I can.

the one that u can find in 2006 catalogue is "another" cab 20! it's nothing similar to the original one. and also the jp version. no matter the old one or the new one in gold color. they are stiffer than the original one too.
base on my feeling. from the most flexible one to the stiffest one. i would like to put them in the following order.
cab 20 original(old logo)>cab 20 original(new logo)>cab 20jp(both purple and gold)=cab 20(gold).

U mean cab 20 original new logo looks exactly like the "original" original except for the logo? Given your info provided, can anyone confirm if the the cab 20jp = cab20 Muscle? Also, is the current cab 21 the same as the cab20 original except that it has a slimmer shaft?

thanks in advance

nope twomk, firstly i'd never tried a cab 20 muscle. so i didn't able to make an comparison between them.
alright, let's make it clear. here are some pix of cab 20. from the top is (#1) a cab 20 original. followed by (#2) a cab 20 original reissue then (#3) a cab 20 jp 2005 version and finally (#4) a cab 20 2005 version.
my order from far left (the most flexible one) to far right. (the stiffest one).

Hi Red:

I'm thinking about getting one out of curiousity - I looked at BBE. It looks like on the chinese version of the site (can't read chinese) it appears that the 3U is only available in the G4 but I need G5.

Is the CP one there by any chance the original?

Thanks

it's funny that. from their chinese page. the cab 20cp is in 3ug4 but for the english version. that cab 20cp is in 2ug4!!! anyway, i have checked with them. they only carry cab 20cp in 3ug4 at the moment.

sry matt. i had never tried a 3u cab 20 before. so i couldn't tell u anything about that. i can only tell u the cab 20 original is a little bit flexible than a reissue. then a reissue is far more flexible than those new 2005 version!;)

Do they ship overseas? If yes, is there an insurance fee/policy on it?

If you're referring to BBE, yes they do. However when shipping Canada, you will have to pay taxes and possible duty fees by Canada customs.

no cheung. cab 20 special is more tending to a cab 20 original reissue. but cab 20jp. especially those 2005 version. which is nothing like the original. for me, it's absolutely another racket.

Are you sure. Maybe there's been another version of the cab20special. The one I have in mind is from about 4-5 years ago. It comes in purple colour and looks very much like the cab20jp at that time (which also was a purple colour). We could be both right;)

Cooler, the only racquet that has tempted me is the Ti10. Other than that, I don't get tempted. Why change when I already have 'the best'!! I collected my cab20s years ago. The new versions are slightly different. The only thing I could change is my choice of strings. BG66 would be nice but it's such a pain to have to visit the stringer so often.

Hi Red, Most of my Cab 20s are different when regarding the stiffness, start from flex to stiff, the sequence will be:

Cab 20 SP lavender
Cab 20 SP Orange
Cab 20 MA and Cab 20 CN
Cab 20 HK (old version)
Cab 20 JP

As per my previous messages, each Cab 20s are slight different, even the 2 Cab 20 SP which I bought at the same time, the stiffness are also different. I really don't know which one is on Spec........:D

I got cab20 kr. Haven't strung them yet but they look good!;)

As per my previous messages, each Cab 20s are slight different, even the 2 Cab 20 SP which I bought at the same time, the stiffness are also different. I really don't know which one is on Spec........ This may be accounted by interbatch variation. Who knows - perhaps racquets made in the winter feel slightly different to those made in the summer.

Even if I get racquets restrung by the same stringer, same string, same type of racqeut, the strings feel a little different.

Maybe one day we should have a cab20 gathering hehehe:)

This may be accounted by interbatch variation. .......

I was showing my 04 and 05 Cab20JPs to someone on Sunday and we were both talking about how the two racquets' weight difference was definitely perceivable. The difference is in the 2-3 grams range, and I believe you are right Cheung in that it is not so much a different design, but just a range of tolerance from Yonex.

haha, it's much cheaper than the prices quoted by those retailers.

I was lucky. I think that batch of kr racquets came from Korea abut 3 years ago. I tried one of them and it felt like the cn racquets I have. That time was much cheaper....market rates have gone up since then!!:p
