Hey adelina you yourself are good looking too.:p The pictures are a bit small. Do you have SA Ooi and the WD pictures too?
Nice pics! :) U are tall also :P
tutu_h 03-22-2006, 04:32 AM Nice pics! :) U are tall also :P
based on the picture, adelina is taller than CCM. :)
jcl49 03-22-2006, 04:54 AM Erm adelina, are you wearing someone medal in one of the pics? If you also borrowed the m'sian team shirt, you could have passed off as a member ;)
Baderz_Jas 03-22-2006, 07:32 AM Cool!!! Thnx for the pics adelina76
That's wonderful :)
yannie 03-22-2006, 12:52 PM adelina, all great pics, keep it up ;)
adelina76 03-22-2006, 05:18 PM Erm adelina, are you wearing someone medal in one of the pics? If you also borrowed the m'sian team shirt, you could have passed off as a member ;)
Yeah, I was trying to rip WMC's clothing off to put it on myself but man, she knows kung fu that woman! :p Nah..she was really cool to even let me borrow her medal in the first place..they're heavy.
As for the height thing..yeah, I'm quite tall for an Asian girl..I'm like 173cm (5'8") I think...the Malaysian team's lucky I wasn't in my high heels that evening! :p
Koo Kien Keat is such a joker too...when we were taking pictures he said he'll have to charge me for them. I told him he just won a gold medal and god knows how much money from the M'sian government and he should be the one taking us all out to dinner! He then asked me, "is that a date?!" Cheeky lil bugger! :D I tell his girlfriend then only he know!
The Malaysian team are really friendly. At one stage I had to take some 'action' pics of this Sri Lankan player for my article for IBF and at that time, the Malaysian guys were training on the 'warm up courts'. I asked them if they mind just letting me use it for a few seconds to take some 'jumping smashes' shot by this Sri Lankan player, Niluka Karanaratne and not only did they agreed to do that, but Cheah Soon Kit and Ricky took turn to feed high shuttles to this Sri Lankan guy so he could his shots...
Hey ants, can you PM me your rl name so I can ask the M'sian team what you're really like? :p
wood_22_chuck 03-22-2006, 05:54 PM I think it's SE-MUT.

siaowei 03-22-2006, 08:53 PM Hi Adelina76, wow, great pics!!!! I was there on that night, cheering like crazy for the malaysian team. What do u think with the Malaysian crowd? Did we do well? I was very impressed with our slogans like Malaysia Boleh, Lets go malaysia lets go and all the extra chinese ( cantonese & mandarin) " jia you" which the players would understand. Someone from my aisle even shouted "leng zai" ( means handsome boy) when Lee Chong Wei was playing . Funny funny! Oh yeah, also some malay words jumped in here and there as well. One thing I really like about our supporters is all the different languages that we were using to cheer them, feeling so much like home:p . I will post some pics of the crowd sooner and later but didn;t get to take good pics with the players like u did *sigh*:o , hehehe.:D
gheri 03-24-2006, 07:31 AM arghhhhhh!!!!!
ok, they are english,but... it' terrible that training suit.
crusaders style ?
too much dan brown ;)

Did Sri Lankan trained with Msian team?
adelina76 03-25-2006, 06:54 AM Did Sri Lankan trained with Msian team?
Nah, the Malaysian coaches just hit a few shuttles up in the air for Karanaratne to do jumping smashes shots for my article, that's it..
funny_bunny 03-29-2006, 07:31 AM koo kien keat has a girl friend? who is she? is she a badminton player as well?
xiao Bibu 03-31-2006, 05:03 AM Yeah, I was trying to rip WMC's clothing off to put it on myself but man, she knows kung fu that woman! :p Nah..she was really cool to even let me borrow her medal in the first place..they're heavy.

Alaric 11-08-2006, 07:47 AM Wow, those pictures are fantastic, I am so jealous! :)
I don't know if I am more jealous of you getting your picture taken with all the gold medal winners or of them getting their picture taken with such an attractive young lady!
How did you get the opportunity, do you work for the press or something?
My badminton coach was out there during the games and one of his friends is the coach for the Jersey team so he met up with him and got to sit court side for a couple of the games!

Welcome onboard Lie! What took you so long? I had a wonderful time during the Manila SEA Games and met some of your countrymen through our good Malaysian friend ants.
Hope to see more of you here.
chris-ccc 11-09-2006, 01:26 AM Hey Loh,
Just on Monday 6-Nov-2006, and Wednesday 8-Nov-2006, of this week, I had a few games with kong-19 who is visiting Melbourne.
Last night, BadFever, Kim and kong-19 met again at our CCCBadminton@Waverley.
Cheers... chris@ccc

Oh that's great! Good that the Commonwealth folks are having a sort of a reunion, but what about Hagen?
Of course I don't expect Maz to come down to Melbourne although kong-19 from Brisbane is not far from Maz's Sydney. Of course, our lady Adelina from NZ and FEND from Perth are not expected to be there too.
Mr Chan keeps a rather low profile in our BC Forum and we hardly hear from him. Nice to know he is keeping well and thanks for letting me know. Apart from BadFever, Kim hardly makes his presence felt here either. However, I'm sure he must now be gainfully employed and enjoying badminton with you folks. So too is Adelina who is back to his corporate law pursuits, I understand. But you'll never know when she'll pack up and travel the world again.
Please say hi to our good friends for me.
BTW, hope you guys can come down to KL for the World Championships next year. Please make advanced plans.
Cheers!
Loh

Hi Lie,
Glad you decided to post, it would be good to see your pictures of KKK if you can upload them. :)
You are very welcome in this forum, it's always nice to have new members and make new friends.
I'll keep an eye out for your future posts. ;)
Best wishes,
Alaric :D :D
Hi Loh,
I'm taking 2 weeks off work for the Youth Olympics in Sydney in January...Anyone coming for that event?
Now that you've brought up that the World Champs is in KL, I'm thinking of going there (there goes the rest of my annual leave!) and take the opportunity to visit relatives and friends!

Hi Maz,
How nice to hear from you!
Frankly, this is the first time I've heard of the Youth Olympics. How nice to be spending 2 weeks to enjoy the show. Are you involved with the badminton competition which I presume must be one of the events.
I'm not sure about visiting Sydney for the YO but I think quite a number of BC members are targetting for the Beijing Olympics 2008.
Yes it's high time you visit our shores again. Maybe Adelina, BadFever, Chan, Kim and FEND, and even Chris should consider coming to KL too since they all have Malaysian origins. I'm sure our Malaysian BC friends will give us a grand reception. Ants must return from Manila to spearhead the arrangements. How about it ants or your good friend, Terry?
Look forward to seeing you all! :)
AHhah... added pressure Loh... anyway i will be back in KL in DEC. Will discuss the details with Terry and Loosai. I'm not sure about a Grand Reception though... hehehe...

Ants, Terry and Loosai, please make it a most memorable one for all our BC friends, especially those willing to converge in KL from faraway. Maybe kwun, Cheung, Mag and our mod from UK may decide to turn up! :D
If there is a grand reception or Grand gathering.. i think those who want to attend might have to pay. At least for the food and the cost of preparation for the "event". I might include some surprises too.. u never know hehhe...

Since this is in support of world badminton, how about getting your powerful friend, BWF Dep. President, to arrange for some sponsors, if need be.
KL is now the Mecca for world badminton and Punch happens to be Malaysian too. And now you have a fanatical BC group of badminton lovers from all over the world willing to converge in KL to support the WC, Mr Gunalan would be as pleased as Punch to give you his total support.
And as suggested by Kokcheng, having former Malaysian badminton greats around to grace the occasion and to take pics with us will make our BC friends' trip all the more satisfying! To cajole them into action, including Punch, by playing some games with us will fulfil many of our dreams. :D
FEND. 11-14-2006, 08:08 PM Loh, is this an attempt to make me move back to malaysia? lol
Loh, is this an attempt to make me move back to malaysia? lol
Now you get it! Remember your name has been mentioned earlier, together with the other of your Melbourne Commonwealth Games friends. You may have to work during your uni vacation to earn the trip to KL, but do consider what you'll be able to reap at the end of it all, if you trust what ants and his badminton friends can provide - the "Grand BC Gathering in KL". ;) :) :D
I dare not to promise anything yet. However i do have in mind of having a gathering. But not a Grand thing yet.

I might see you in KL next year during the WC. Probably Kong-19 and Badfever as well.
Kim.

Good to hear from you Kim! I know you all will come. Chris may have some problems with his coaching schedule, but it'll be good to have him too. Already Maz said she'll probably be able to make it, FEND's heart tells him he has to be in KL with us, but Adelina is still keeping mum. Boy! it's going to be some reunion! ;)
Now, it is left to ants (and good friend Punch) and his BC friends whether they're going to disappoint us! Now if Kwun, Cheung et all, decide to come too, ants probably will try his best not to. :D
Punch in definately on his toes as i'm sure alot of the BC fellas will bombard him with many Qs regarding the NSS. ehhehe

So happy for you that your dream have come true after 9 years wait !!! :):):)
Yes, our Wong Choong Hann is really a friendly guy.
Thank you for the nice photo and for bringing back this thread.
Oh that's great! Good that the Commonwealth folks are having a sort of a reunion, but what about Hagane?
Please say hi to our good friends for me.
Hi Loh,
Just came back from our CCC Badminton and found this thread brought back again. :):):)
Yes Hagane is now playing with us regularly, together with BadFever. And Kim pays frequent visits now and then.
It's great to read from the other threads that you guys, together with Kim and kong-19, enjoyed your attendance at the 2007 World Championships @KL. :):):)
If not because of my coaching commitment, I would have been there too.
But we will catch up on meeting one day. :):):)
Cheers... chris@ccc

Hi Chris, it's great to know that Hagane and others are still playing.
I understand that BadFever has already made arrangements to watch the Beijing Olympics next year. Kim is trying to find out about the accommodation situation and if all goes well, we should have more BC members going to Beijing.
And Kim did tell us about your heavy coaching commitments. Hope one day you could join us in some major tournaments. :)
