Hi, i bought a Muscle Power 99 recently from a well known shop in the midlands. I must say that it is an amazing racket and i could feel all my drops and not shots were going where i wanted them to go. But after just 10 minutes of use and the paint on the strings was almost all but gone. The yonex logo looked like it was finished. Has this happened to any other yonex mp users?

This is perfectly normal - the string paint gets tranferred onto the cork of the shuttle.
You can use this opportunity to see where you have been hitting the shuttle on the string bed and use it as a training aid :D
PS from your title I first though that the paint from your mp99's frame was disintegrating ;)
FEND.

The string is factory string and it's not uncommon for the paint to be on the string for a long period of time prior to your purchase. Don't worry bout the paint. You can always get some stencil ink from the shops and just paint the logo again if you wanted.

Thanks guys, had me worried there for a second. The strings on there are bg65-ti's. Funny thing is my friends mp23s still have their perfect paints on there afta several uses. Ah well.

Some strings hold the paint better, ti strings are very smooth and paint won't stick as well as a rougher string.

I thought the MP99 is sold frame only. Then wouldn't the yonex stencil be applied on by the store that sold you the yonex racket?
Just wondering.

I know that in Australia it's a little different...
Racquets bought from the stores (Rowe n Jarmen, Amart, etc...) have their racquets strung with BG65 at like 19lbs or so, whereas if you buy it from the proshop (the only one in Adelaide), its' not strung. Maybe this is because the proshop is actually a reputable stringer, so he can just string it while you wait.

um yeah it's normal for string paint to come off, but for my mp99 it's seems like the paint always comes off :S and i kno it's a legitimate racket

yes, the subject is kinda misleading:p on this note, i find that mp99s don't have the best paint job among yonex's rackets...they tend to chip easily. i think the old Ti-10 has the best paint job of all...:D

in the uk the MP 99 and other top end yonex rackets usually are factory strung with bg65ti. If you buy a cheaper yonex racket the paint seems to stay on much longer, it may be down to the diffrence in the strings between the lower and top end rackets. if find bg 85 string holds the ink better/longer then the bg65ti string.
tho to me it seems that the top end rackets strings seem to be painted diffrently, simular to using your own ink and stencil after a restring, maybe done by or for yonex uk at a diffrent stage of production. The cheaper rackets seem to be more machine painted if that makes sense.

The higher end rackets in the UK do get strung with BG65-Ti or even the BG68-Ti, while the lower end ones are generally BG-65 or BG63 (I think its this anyway, its the 0.73mm ones anyway). This may contribute to the stencil ink/paint staying on for longer on the lower end rackets.

it will go off, good for me, maybe bad for you. but... factory strung so they imprint the large logo on the strings

Yeah my logo went on my Amortec 500 it's the ink Yonex uses it very shiney comes off easy. My Wilson V4 has matt paint on it and that is still there. Any how no worries it's normal for that to occur. Ohh my string's are BG 65 TI too.
You can obtain the Yonex logo from the Yonex site for free and the ink come in black or red costing about £7 each. I have bought them cos I like the logo on my string's it's the feel good factor.

I think rackets actually look better with a logo on but, as is the nature of the beast, they start to flake off almost immediately, and a partly logoed racket looks apalling (worse than NO logo). In my experience, though, they last longest on SERIOUSLY sub-standard string, so you should be GLAD your racket is losing the logo!
kikks is right, though: unless you have a deal with Yonex, it's not life or death.
