For those who love AT700, The Armortec700 have a new color. But there is not much different. Just that the RED color is much brighter than the previous ones. I'm not sure weather it will be available worldwide. Will post some pics of it when i get them next month.

Well... I think they run out of paints.:D

Anyway, ANTS, really appreciate such first hand info; because I was about to purchase another piece of the AT700. It seems to be much more easier to manipulate than the Ti-10.

Thanks.

i personally think a brighter red would make the racquet look a bit better, lol its all good with me as long as they dont change anything else.

Just wondering, could it be same as ti-10 new colour, the graphite used is high modulus rather than ultra high modulus?

Basically the specs is the same. Just the color is different. But i dont think it is for international distribution at the moment.

The old color looked like a classic color. The never one, i would say more daring and "fierce" looking.

Kinda like fire red but I'm another one who love the old color because of it's "silent" black while showing a bit of "fierce" red to let your opponent knows you mean do business lol

The specs are not the same. The new AT 700 does not have Ultimum Ti and yet it is more expensive than the older version.

i thought the specs are the same? what's the difference you've found??

BTW, i asked the Yonex shop here, says that the new color AT700 for now is still only for the players, not marketed yet...

As I've said, it does not have Ultimum Ti on the shaft. Read the composition specs listed on the racket shaft of both the old and new AT700.

Since Yonex have taken out Ultimum Ti, the new racket should play slightly differently from the old version...... Unless Ultimum Ti does nothing much in the first place and is just a marketing gimmick.

I just got mine from san diego badminton supply. The shaft only have the wording of ultra light weight/ head heavy balance/ high modulus graphite/ made in japan.

Notice that as well, not sure if it's just not printed or does not have Ultimum Ti in th shaft anymore.

Is it more expensive? Thought it's the same? Btw, has anyone seen 4U version in SG?

02-18-2007, 07:56 AM
The picture and specs you have just posted is the old AT700, the new version DOES NOT contain the Ultimum Ti technology as Modious has already stated.

Whether this will make any actual playing difference to the racket, we will have to wait and see; but it obviously didn't bother Peter Gade too much as he won the Malaysian Open with it!

AMRaider
02-18-2007, 02:15 PM
I have a feeling that the new AT700 may in fact still have the Ultimum Ti in the shaft since it is supposed to be the same spec as the old one. The only way to be sure would be to cut a new AT700's shaft open and look for the Ultimum Ti "wires". I believe someone on this forum did that with an MP88 or MP100 but I can't find the pics at the moment.

Why does Badminton Alley list them with UHMG in both frame and shaft? That would put them in the same class as the Ti-10, except technologically better in that case, minus the Ti-Mesh.

According to the latest catalogue, the new color at700 does incorporate Ultimum Ti technology:
