Hello To Everyone.

I recently joined this forum to learn more about the game of badminton. I play but very rarely and only for the fun of it. Im sure alot of things I do are against the rules of badminton so now I want to learn the rules basically.

I came across this article on the rules of scoring in badminton. Im just wondering if this is right and if there is anymore missing information.

I also understand there is a rule where you must be on a certain side when the score is odd/even.

Hoping to meet all of you.

Thanks

My apologies. I posted the thread twice by accident. I forgot the link and stopped loading the page however it still went through..

If the mods can delete the other thread that would be great, thanks.

The rules have been changed to point a rally system.

Rules:
1. 21 points per game, in the case of 20-20, play on until someone wins 2 points in a row (i.e. 22-20, 23-21, etc.), until you reach 29-29. Then it's set point (30-29 ends the set).
2. Every rally counts to a point. You no longer have to serve to win a point. So if opponent made a fault on his/her serve, that's your point.
3. Singles: Your point determines which side you serve from. Odd = Left, Even =Right
Doubles: Your point determines which of you starts service. Odd = Person on Left side serves, Even = Person on right side serves.

The new scoring is not officially changed yet, not until end of Thomas cup then we will know if the rally points rule will be adapted.. But the 21 points rule does seems to be more friendly for starters.
