i wonder which thread over the years in BC has had the most views/posts, this one must rank quite close to the top.

Hi Matt.

I would like to bid on this racquet but wanted to know if it was authentic first. What is the good of this forum if you only tell me if it is real AFTER I spend my money.

Hi Matt.

I would like to bid on this racquet but wanted to know if it was authentic first. What is the good of this forum if you only tell me if it is real AFTER I spend my money.
I would like to defend Matt on this one.
1) There is a thread in Market Place forum about Ebay auction.
2) The rule here is to post racquet ser# that you own.
3) Matt has been very nice to point you to the right place to post your inquiry.

Please be nice to the people who try to help here and keep this thread short and sweet.

I'm pretty sure it fake due to price, but it plays pretty well. Followed all the things to look for in a fake and this racket seems to pass everything. Laser etching, funny gap on top of racket, nice grommets and hologram stickers. Still pretty sure it's a fake. Oh well you live and learn.

The numbers match but without photos, it is very difficult to state anything inconclusively. & the major reason for that is, the price; $80 seems like an awefully low price for an NS9000X. So, if you could please post some pictures, it will be helpful for the real experts here to voice their opinion.

fair enough, I disagree that cheap price alone is a determinant of authenticity

In most cases, the cheap price is the determinant of authenticity. Rarely there would be a case where the racket is genuine assuming everything was checked out. People do not think about the price and as a result they fall for it.

Just by looking at the pictures in the auction, it speaks for itself it is counterfeit. Also, the description of the specs in the auction is also obviously bogus as well.

It's hard to believe with so many previous buyers "NO ONE" caught on that the racquets are fake. People are just ignorant? Well I won't pay 81 dollars for a fake for sure I don't care if it looks cosmetically the same.

you do realize a lot of these counterfieters are either a group or have multiple eBay accounts, which means they can just give eachother good ratings. plus, imagine what would've happend if you never found this site. you'd been another sucker :p

if the price is too good to be true, it's probably not true. when I first went to ebay, I can't believe how so many armortecs are being sold under $50!!! lol

racket model: Yonex Nanospeed 6000
shaft serial: 6458969
cone code : 120562CD
source : Abey sporting good
price : $170

For the cone code of 120562CD (date=12 May 2006) the valid shaft serial should be after 6156000.
For the shaft serial of 6458969, the valid cone code should be between 6 and 12 of Oct 2006.
IMHO, your Yonex racket Nanospeed 6000 shaft serial: 6458969 cone code : 120562CD is a fake.

Day 20, month 71. year 06. I think it is a fake racket because month 71??? There are only 12 months per year:). It would be appropriate if you post your inquiry in the 'market place' section next time. Sometime it happens that someone post a question in the wrong thread, they maybe new to these forum but it wouldn't hurt our fingers to guide and help them with their questions. Just my 10 cents...

When it comes too repetitive, people get tired of it.

The thing is, that they do not read the first post which clearly indicates its for owners.

Thank you very much. This is my first time in the thread and although you guys look at it and see month 71 and put a smily face. I really have no idea on how to spot a fake racquet, but I do appreciate the help. Next time, I will infact look to post my question somewhere else

This forum does have resources on how to determine a fake racket. Of course I am one of the people can easily tell fakes via visuals.

About the date code, this information is easily found on post one of this thread by clicking the link in there, which allows the person to understand what the serial number means which includes the date code.

That's why, sometimes if the user is just posting without doing some form of research, we can tell.

The serial is way off for the date code.

Also, if you also read the date code, it speaks for itself as it has counterfeit all over it.

We want you to post the Ebay seller and the completed auction number.

The members who can verify these things will check it for you, except Leeshim. The reason why Leehsim does not check rackets from Ebay anymore is because too many of the racket inquires from Ebay is counterfeit.

Just to clarify, I see this all the time actually for Sunrise/SP racquets, sticker covers the date code on the cone .... quite annoying but does not indicate a fake.
