How so? because of the price???
The serial number checks out okay....

If you could post some pictures of the racket that would be better.

Leehism does not verify rackets bought from ebay.....

yeah, mainly because it's from ebay and because of the price.
i'm naturally suspicious of yonex racquets from ebay ...

most of the shops in pertama complex are authorised dealers, did you go to racquet world or something? i wouldn't be too worried.

No reply with this one yet?

give it a bit of time, leehsim doesn't get around to verifying serials everyday.

having said that, we've never seen a fake nctuff before, it's probably not financially worthwhile faking a lower end racquet, so you should be safe.

hi im from germany and i just bought a at900t. now i was searching for a backup and found one on ebay. the seller says that he just played about 30 mins with it and that its no copy.

---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8----
racket model: Yonex Armortec 900 Technique (4u)
shaft serial: don´t know, can ask seller if its necessary
cone code : 180172GR
source : ebay germany, private seller
price : the auction just started, so its atm at 6 euro. so atm the price is unimportant..
---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8----

maybe you can tell me something with those few information. i wonder about the cone code. i thought the start of the at900t was april 2007. but, if i understand the code right, this at900t was made in january 2007 but it was just played for 30 minutes?...

First thing - This is a shopping inquiry, it does not belong in this thread (it belongs to the Ebay Auction Watch).

I believe the racket was around April or so, correct me if I'm wrong. Also we need the serial number.

it really depends on when leehsim logs on.
normally he checks it at least twice a week, but it's difficult to judge anyone's schedule on any particular week.

Been four years since i last changed my racquet. Time to lay my beloved carbonex 8600 to rest. I bought this new armortec 900 T from an ebay seller called nano_sports. Here's the link of the auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEBTOX:IT&item=170204359193&_trksid=p3984.cTODAY.m238.lVI and here's the link to the seller http://myworld.ebay.com/nano_sports/

I've included several pictures to help verify the authenticity of my new racquet. the "6" on the cone code looks a little weird, but anyhow, here it is.

Yea... I prefer the jp version. The paint job on jp is flawless whereas the sp has some minor flaws. And I'm pretty picky about the paint job :(

But what happen was, I actually bought the jp (my technique) a while back, when the canadian dollar was still high... when I went back to get the sp (my power) a few months later the exchange rates sucked... it would've worked out to ~250... so that's not worth it anymore.

Matt where do you find top of line rackets < 190?!?! you gotta hook me! especially jp ones!

I was tricked to verify Yonex racket bought or to be bought from eBay such as Post#3171 with source vaguely put as "Australia", gift from friend, etc
In future I would not reply any enquiry if the "Source" is without the name of the shop, location, etc

And with regards to the serial number you just compare it with your racket which we even isnt sure that yours isnt real. You must have at least a convincing bases of your observation.

To check for Yonex authorized dealers in your area, contact Yonex of the applicable country.

For example, if it is a US dealer - contact Yonex USA, Canada - contact Yonex Canada.

Yonex authorized dealers will sell genuine rackets. If the dealer decides to go to the dark side and sell counterfeits, they are in very big trouble!!

I do not understand why some people want to write in a language other than English in this forum? There are forums where they can discuss topics in their mother languages.

I do not find writing Chinese funny or warm-feeling even though I speak, read and write Chinese myself. I think it's a huge disrespect to fellow forumers from around the world.

So there will be threads and posts in Arabic, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Swedish?? Just imagine what this forum will become....

yes. in fact, English is the mandatory language. sometimes we do allow posting of articles from other languages as long as the member provide a translation.

having said that, the posts in question have been deleted now.

My reply to the highlighted above.

When this thread was started in Year 2002 by kwan asking for members to post their Yonex rackets models, shaft serial nos., cone codes, etc a timeline (from cone date codes) was created with the serial nos. I chanced upon this thread and keep a list of model, serial number, date code, owner, etc for all "genuine" Yonex rackets posted. This the information list I kept all the time. I did not obtain from Yonex. That answer the last part highlighted above.

I have stressed many time that valid serial number and date code is the 1st step towards ID of genuine Yonex racket. Physcial examination of racket in hand is very important as well. Matt have done a very good job in this department.

Everybody can have every reason not to believe me especially I have put up a disclaimer statement to all my reply.
The most recent Yonex racket I owned is TI10 serial no. of 5639913 and 070757SP (date=07 Jul 2005) which I bought from an authorised Yonex racket dealer in Singapore. I have tried very hard to buy fake "Yonex" racket form badminton shops in Singapore. None of them wish to sell me.

Lastly it is up to you to believe leehsim verification; my answer to why do we need to believe leehsim can check through the list?

First thing is that Leehsim does not check on Ebay. Second, you did not specify the completed auction number to verify that has been purchased. Third, this is a countefeit seller.

i think we're all forgetting here than leehsim, matt and several other members are providing a voluntary service based on their personal expertise. it is not going to be 100% accurate all the time, nor do they claim it to be. also, since it is voluntary, they aren't going to provide guarantees on any of their advice, if you're unhappy about the way they do things or don't want to take their advice for any reason, that choice is ultimately yours to make. i think it's unfair to abuse them for a service which many members have found very useful.

This is the point i've been driving at since, but somehow was mis understood. This thread is just for the verification our our yonex rackets authentecity based on a laymans knowledge of the product and not on the MANUFACTURERS. So, it is with us if we agree with them or not. No point arguing as per their comment and recommendations of our yonex's. We can always check it out somewhere "IF..i say IF, WE ARE REALLY SERIOUS IN FINDING IT OUT ITS AUTHENTICITY" For the sake of this thread, just post what is being ask of us to post for the verification of our yonex's. This is not to mess up this thread. Instead, am asking that we provide a more viable proof to all our verifications.

With a great deal of persistence, butch has earned himself a temporary ban from the forum ;)

the reason why i am posting this is because i like to grip my racket all the way over the cone, however, one day i decided to re grip the racket, when i took out the old grip, i noticed that the cone code with the print were chipping away. :crying:
(the grip did have a very strong glue in the back, it also teared a lot of the leather off, so i dont no if its the glue if it is cause my racket is fake. on the day i bought it,i had a friend who owned a nanospeed 9000s come with me and we compared both racket. it looked exactly the same.)

This thread is one of the best ever i go through in BC. Interesting inquiry about our equipments and discussions too. Keep it up buddies so as to break the monotomy of just posting serial numbers.

that alone shouldn't be a problem.
i grip all my racquets up to the shaft, and some of my serials have come off as well, the problem is that they are just engraved into the first layer of the paint work and like you said, the glue on the grip is so strong that it actually tears out that paintwork when you replace it.
i wouldn't worry about the authenticity, as long as you get it from a reputable source.

1) CY do sell auth Yonex TW coded racquet.
2) It is real. The laser engraving do come off with age. Also the overgrip tape will take off some of the "White" filler. As long as the ser # engraving is there. it is fine.

thanks silentheart, the lay of paint is coming completely off, with part of my cone code, not the white laser engraving, but the whole thing.
anyways i think dreamzz is right, the engraving seems to be on the first lay of paint. so i was just sad that it lost its code. :crying:
but as long as its real, i am happy, i am not planing to resale it or anything so it shouldnt be too much of a problem.
anyways, thanks for all the help!

I believe there's also a reason why some ppl prefer to speak in their own language, since they think that english is their barrier to talk to others the way they meant to.Some of us here doesn't have a good english to speak freely around the forum.

But again,it's true that english is a mandatory language in this place. So,my advice is..use english, even though ur english is not very good.As long as we can all understand what u r trying to say,it's ok.

Peace..;)

Fake; shaft serial is wayy too low for the date code. Even 2007 racquets have serial numbers 7xxxxxx and higher.

What's the logic of this thread then? Buy first and we'll see if you've been ripped off or not? I understand that this thread is about verifyng whether what we have is fake or not And it has been mentioned that there's a separte thread for shopping enquiries. But so far, this thread is the one active with regards to the matter i.e verification. Can't we help?

I think you already get the logic. Follow the rules of what the thread asks. This is an owner's thread, not a shopper's thread.

Im pretty sure that it's a fake. The cone code indicates it was made in the year of 2006, but the Armortec 900 series was released in 2007.
