Yeah I know, they just rush and jump in and ask for help without doing some homework of their own first.
I'm also was one of the popular members on an A/V forum and it's much different over there.
Members there actually read there before they post. Occasionally you get some of the odd-ball posts but it's understandable considering the threads get very cluttered because of the size and is constantly cleaned an updated (no edit restrictions there). The threads over there get very huge and sometimes get to the point that it seperates to another thread via mod or poster interaction.
Thanks Matt...only this 3 pics...

The other members who are familar with serial/date code numbers will be able to assist you on that. I'm the visual guy. You could ask the seller to take the picture of the cone (with serial, and one with the Yonex logo one cone).

I noticed the ban on Butch and its due to his/her not following what is ask of this thread. But i presumed that what he want to stress out is that for us to help out the members identify and not to fall prey to all those fakes. And i find the banning INAPPROPRIATE. But in any rate it has been served and and was lifted therefore should be FORGOTTEN, otherwise we are getting personal on the person. Bear in mind that this is a forum. Tho we have a particular topic here, but it doesnt mean we cant discuss other things that is relevant to this topic. And i believe most members are looking up to your EXPERT opinion. some fake rackets can be identified via their serial numbers. if you wonder if your racket is a fake, post them here so we can verify them for you. the format of the serial number is:
1234567 311226XX
in additional to the serial number, you need to tell us:
FROM WHOM DID YOU BUY THE RACKET FROM?
that usually tells us if it is genuine or not.
here is the template. cut and paste it into your post and fill in the details. every line are mandatory. whomever do not follow the following template will have their posts deleted:

---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8----
PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THE ABOVE INFORMATION.
read this article to understand what the serial number mean:

Looks like the mods will need to check the IP logs !!

For the date cone code of 200675CH (date=20 Jun 2007), the valid shaft serial no. should be 6970000.

Why nobody like Matt can help others who need help?? Matt could try to help somebody even post something wrong here...Why other members cannot?? Is here really want to help others???
I believe you all experience members will find out the two numbers is legit or fake in several minutes...but why nobody would help me???
I am a newbie here...just want to meet more friends and share some experience on the fake racket...but my feeling just feel here is really cold to newbies...
I said many many times "Please...Please...Please... Thanks...Thanks... Sorry...Sorry"...Again! Why nobody help me just verify the two numbers???
Why???!!! Why???!!! Why???!!!
It is not we do not want to help you. Many of us are tired of checking codes over shopping inquiries. Also, there are only a few ebay sellers sells real Yonex racquets. If you did not buy from them, it is 99% fake. Is it nice for you to waste our time? Also, many of user here abused this thread and put down some bogus racquet source and ask us to help out while they are just shopping for racquet on the ebay. If you have a shopping inquiry, please post it in the other thread. If you do not wish to tell us your true source, why should we respond to your request? It is a 2 way street.

leehsim is the only guy that has the list. he has done the hardwork by compiling the serial number against the cone code. however, leehsim will not entertain purchases made through auction(example ; ebay). couple of reasons are, firstly, he is not here 24/7. members will start asking, inquiring whether it is real or not before bidding.
i did ask you to provide more infos in the ebay's thread. there, members with good visual detector, such as Matt, can help.
as you said earlier on, will provide more photos to enable Matt to recheck it. please do help us to help you.

Not manufactured in singapore, but an SP racket is supposed to be marketed around SEA countries.
Fake rackets r usually made in China..besides,looks like the seller is also from china. So,he is selling u an SP fake racket, that's made in china, which is available widely in china..to u.He send it from china,to UK.Done..
Secondly..the price u paid is 1/3 of the genuine racket's price.Do u think it's possibly be genuine?
3rdly,wait till u stay longer n read more posts in BC from ppl all around the world, maybe u'll understand about yonex serial numbers.
Just take it this way.Just think of the shaft numbers,3748033 as the batch numbers. This shaft serials belongs to the older racket batch. While if it's true that ur racket is manufactured in 2008 march 27,the shaft serials should be around 74...... or 75..... already. While urs r only 37.....

Absolutely. If you look at the genuine sellers, the prices are much higher. you might be able to find some used rackets that are in this price range but if the seller claims that it is brand new racket & wants to sell it for $50 or $80/-, it is a FAKE. The genuine rackets are sold for $135/- and up. just think why the seller would take such a big hit on the price????

The cone code of 161205SP (date 16 Dec 2000) is invalid for Yonex NS 9000X because this model was launched in Jan 2006.
For the serial no. of 6169336, the valid cone date code should be something like 1n0562CC (date 1n May 2006).

"i cannot explain this, AT150 are made in TAIWAN, maybe have different SN rule from those models made in JP"
I don't know whether the models made in TW have the same SN rule as the ones made in JP, if so, your racket cannot be real; if not, it may be a real

The lower end rackets follow a different serial pattern than the higher end rackets. The serial number for this AT150 matches for the corresponding date code.
Not fake

faisaltoy, I feel you :P It's so hard to find an authorised yonex seller in sydney. As far as I know, you can try the 'Love-all tennis shop' at Macquarie centre. I bought a pair of yonex shoes there two months ago. They sell genuine yonex gears and racquets (they sell fakes too if I'm not wrong, but they'll tell you which is fake and which isn't). The NS9k cost a little over A$200 (was it A$209?.. forgot, bad memory). There should be another shop that sells genuine yonex racquets, but I can't remember the shop's name.

why do you keep bringing stuff like this up? i guess you didn't learn anything from that ban. if you don't trust the people here who has experience and have dealt with counterfeits/authentics, then you can just keep those thoughts to yourself. saying stuff like "oh they won't tell you how they know, but they know" isn't helping one bit, but rather bait users into silly arguements.

I have checked in the information of your Yonex ArcSaber 10 shaft Serial:7416824; Cone Date Code:010282SW (date=01 Feb 2008) to my nformation list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, its serial no. and date code are legitimate.
However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the racket carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain its total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.

leehsim doesn't check racquets bought from ebay or online sellers. You can post some pictures of the racquet and other members will help you identify its authenticity visually.

Ok fair enough . Since Badminton Alley is a Yonex Authorized dealer, the racket should be genuine.

That's something the person youre asking wont give you an answer to the question. I bet..In my opinion, its something like ....hmmm...he just knw about the "product" so well.
why do you keep bringing stuff like this up? i guess you didn't learn anything from that ban. if you don't trust the people here who has experience and have dealt with counterfeits/authentics, then you can just keep those thoughts to yourself. saying stuff like "oh they won't tell you how they know, but they know" isn't helping one bit, but rather bait users into silly arguements.
I gz somebody misinterpreted my message...and am not even implying "mistrust". Read the lines plz and to whom i made that quote...Now am keeping things to myself (am shutting up). Have a pleasant day everyone.

Yonex Authorized dealer which officially sells SP. Market price is around $100 and better for the racket itself. Even with shipping on top the price is better than what it was purchased for.

In his online shop webpage (off ebay), he has two categories, one is realy cheap clones (and he states it), the other category he states is 'absolutely original'. it is from the latter category where i made a purchase for a ns9000x which i'm still awaiting. but on one of his arc saber pictures the details below are obtained. thanks

woops, guess i didn't read this page then posted it. sorry! i guess i won't get a reply for my query!
ok i understand that you guys are doing a good thing to clarify for owners whether they have a real or fake items and i respect that, big up!! however, i don't see how that would actually help anyone because the damage is done already if they have fake rackets. what do you think they would do? i wouldn't say all, or most of or even some of those ppl. all you need is a small % of thse ppl to sell those items again on ebay and claim as authntic rackets and more ppl get scorched. unfortunately not everyone here lives in asia where rackets are quite affordable in shops. A ns8000 could cost as much as 300aud where i'm from. that would be the newest model available!

Depending on the situation, there is not much they can do. The best way not to get caught up into this is to look and think about these things ahead of time as a preventative measure.
Yes a very small percentage is genuine rackets on Ebay, therefore one needs to know what they are doing ahead of time before purchasing.

You can take a few close up pictures of part of your racquet, make a new thread and post them there. Some members around this forum will help you identify your racquet's authenticity visually. I don't blame you for buying from ebay. I understand how hard it is to buy racquets in Australia. By the way, from your serial numbers, your AT900T seems real, but your Arcsaber 10 is fake. According to the serial number for your ARC10, it was made in '2001'.

best advice is not to buy off ebay, especially if they're advertising a new racquet for a much reduced price. also be on the alert if they're shipping it from china, japan, hong kong etc, it's normally not good news.

i've asked the seller on 2 separate occasions whether it is '100% genuine yonex and not a clone or replica' and he verified that it was and 'would be the same racket that i would get in the shop'
here are some photos thanks:
sorry for taking up so much space
this racquet is definitely a fake.
the font of the serials is not the font which yonex uses.

Hi calvino, try buying your racquet from Wingeesports.com . I plan to buy a NS9000S there soon, and together with stringing and shipping, it'll all cost me only A$192. As for the fake, sorry to hear about that, but from looking at your posts, you seem to be desperate for an expensive racquet. I think you should have a feel with the racquets first before rushing into buying one, because expensive doesn't necessarily mean it's suitable for you. Just my two cents though. Also, try and file a paypal dispute and see if he'll refund you. Good luck!

You're wrong mate. The font is not the same as a genuine racquet's font. The most obvious one is the number '2'. Also, I don't think a genuine nanospeed comes with those type of tags (the tag strung to the head).

i was rather looking at the 0 instead of the 2.. also i've seen the tag its a distributor tag not a original yonex factory tag. dont get me wrong im not trying to convince you guys that this is a genuine racket, just having a general debate..

the serial numbers are definately engraved but the yonex label on the cone is a sticker, is it suposed to be like that?
i've checked the font with that of my mp77 and it does look a little different. does the serial numbers correlate to the appropariate date of manufacture?

It's not suppose to be a sticker. the YONEX sign was suppose to be printed. The only holographic stick on your racquet (well, on a genuine one), is the oval shaped sticker on the opposite side of the cone code. the date seems believable, but the font is a dead giveaway, especially the number 2.

cheers mate. hopefully i do get a refund. i have aready bought another one from ebay... type s 2nd hand and he has guarenteed its authenticity. i am optimistic.
the reason i'm so desperate to buy a high nd racket is because i've had to play with a very heavy mp77 for about 5 years or so and i need something a abit quicker to generate speed offensively and defensively. will check on wingeepsports but looking to contact a hong kong local deistrbutor to get some into oz.

a high end racquet doesn't necessarily mean it's lighter. If i'm not wrong, the mp77 has a heavy head, which made it heavy when you're holding it at the handle (if you get what i mean). It's similar to the armortec 900P, which has a heavy head as well. You could try the nanospeed 9000S, a high end racquet which has quite a balanced weight. But just a tip - always try a racquet before buying it, make sure you get the feel of it first.

thanks for your advice but i understand that a high end racket is not neccessarily light. i've come to the conclusion that i need a head light racket for my defensive play and after extensive research into the the more recent rackets that have come out in recent times ns9000 x or s and at 900 t would be more lile what i am looking for. unfortunately, in adeelaide i'm not in a position to try these rackets as our options are limited. i've hit with only the arc 7 which i don't particularly rate and swung the ns8000 which i quite like. that's not much to base a decision on but it can't be any worse for my game than the mp77 as it restricts my games. would love to be able to try all these rackets before i buy though..

Please read this BC link to understand more on the Yonex rackets serial numbering system:

Your Nanospeed 7000 with the date code of 161205SP meaning that it is produced on 16 Dec 2000.
Yonex Nanospeed 7000 was launched in Nov 2004.
