he doesn't identify racquets bought on ebay. If it's brand new sold for that price, i'm a bt doubtful about its authenticity, but hey, you might be lucky. Make a thread ans posts some close up pictures of it, and other members will help you identify visually.

Is that model (Titanium Pro 301 Super) still available in market? I thought it's quite an old model, so might be hard 2 find..and i see most of the shops sell quite expensive yonex rackets..I'm a beginner, so i dont think i need a very expensive one yet..:o btw, normally what's the price range for this type of yonex racket?

I actually asked him the same thing s well..his answer was --> (Yes these rackets are original Yonex. For some reason companies such as Yonex, RSL, and Prince release models just for retail in certain regions, such as Japan / Asia. The serial number on the racket is 9416256 270943SP.)
that's why i tried 2 confirm whether it's original here..thanks 4 ur opinion though:)..

Yonex Titanium Pro 301 Super belongs to the low end Yonex badminton rackets with the phrase Developed by Yonex Japan on the shaft and Made in Taiwan on the geeen cap at the butt end of the handle.
Rackets manufacturer makes fake rackets only out of high end Yonex rackets.
Though I keep a list of Yonex rackets made in Taiwan/China, I do not verify Yonex rackets bought or to be bought from eBay.

If you haven't bought a racquet before, or just started playing the game, then I suggest you get some advice before buying a racquet. In my opinion, a beginner will find nanospeed quite heavy. Try a head light racquet first, then play with it for awhile, and then try and adjust to the racquet that suits you. Yeah, go to a store with a variety of racquets, and just have a feel first before buying. Also, i reckon you should just stick to the fake racquet for awhile (if the guy you bought it from doesn't give you a refund),unless you're an advanced/intermediate player.

Leehsim doesn't use coloured font when he says something is fake, so those posts are harder to find.
Why would we want to find Leehsim saying if rackets are fake or not. The buyer needs to really think where he or she got it from, that's all.
The buyer should already done research ahead of time to know if they are buying a product is either genuine and obtaining it from a reliable source.

dude can' trust what ebay sellers say. i recently bought an nanospeed 9000x from a seller on ebay for 60gbp. i asked him on 2 separate occasions whether it is real or clone he assured me it's real both times. he even had a section for clones and a section for 'absolutely genuine'. i bought it and found that it was fake. i emailed him and he didn't refute that it was fake. got a refund and eventually got it sorted out but a hassle was had... i've since got a 2nd hand ns9000s and that's real and definately got a few different aspects that are different to the fake

If you see something worth well over A$200, and it's up for A$69, why in the world would you even buy it and expect it to be genuine, especially when you've already thought the code to be a little fishy. Next time you buy something, try to put a little logic into the thinking process before purchasing. There's really no point in complaining about it afterwards.
Not to sound rude here, but it's the truth. People have been buying these so called 'brand new genuine racquets" on ebay over and over again, for less than half the price, and they all expected them to be genuine. it's like jumping off a cliff and expect that gravity won't have any effect. It's just impossible.
Also, why would you need a top end racquet just to play for fun? You could've gotten a decent genuine $70 racquet which might be more suitable for you, and being genuine, the quality would have been way better than the fake racquet you just bought.

Because I've bought several items from eBay (Canon Ixus which was $150 cheaper than the retail here, etc) but this is my first time on buying stuffs that can be fake/genuine.
I have a bit of doubt whether it's fake, so as you can see I'm not jumping up and down and start cursing on the forum. However, from how confident the seller said that it was genuine, and from the fact that he had hundreds of sales with all postive feedbacks (some even said that the rackets were genuine), they all gave me some hope (which I guess is wrong)
Just to add. Lets change the words and the money figures to it makes it applicable to a particular item but it still applies.
More like saying, I'm going to buy a CD or DVD that's worth $20 dollars and buying it for $6.9 dollars. Even thou it does not seem like something to worry since the it's not that much money, but it's still less than 50% than what it typically sells for. Chances are high that it is counterfeit and people will fall right for it.
Just to add, I can tell you about over 90% of the anime DVDs on Ebay is counterfeit, or should I say bootleg!!

I assume you read this thread here (http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32338).
Notice this part:
5. "I have 100% feedback history! Trust Me!": I have seen the 4th largest ebay powersellers with over 100000 feedbacks selling tons of fakes. In fact, if you want to, I can easily give you an ebay account with hundreds of positive feedback in no time.
How do people do it? Well, ebay in many countries, DO NOT charge seller fees on listing. So, what people (especially ebayers from China) do is to create a bunch of accounts and sell a rock to each other. So, you can do that and you can make your accounts with hundreds of feedback in one day. You can easily spot this by looking at their feedback history. I have see accounts for example, like "John01", "John02", "John03".... "John80", all selling the same stuff to each other and every account received positive feedbacks on the same day. (Actually, it was in the same morning). If you have some brain in your head, you should know all these are the same person.
So in otherwords, 100% means nothing when it comes to determining if a person is selling a genuine or counterfeit racket.
To answer your question, you can get a claim because the transaction was never valid to begin with because it is not a genuine item.

Every person here that's bought fakes on ebay always comes up with that excuse. It's a wonder why you people bother to check it's authenticity after you've bought it. Should've done some research before buying, not after. Like I said, it's important to put use some logic when thinking about buying something. So, I hope you learned your lesson.
Even after I posted this, there will still be people flooding in with the same situation as you. It just proves my point. Lots of people don't bother about doing research before buying, and then when they go through the trouble of finding out its authenticity, and found out it's fake, they want a refund.
For those who actually bought from a shop at the actual retail price, and finds out it's fake, that's a totally different story.

i've a fake ns 9000x and a real ns9000s. personally i can't quite point out the difference between the 2 rackets. unfortunately, the rackets have different strings and different tensions so i can't really attribute the differences to the racket alone. both rackets feel similar on the swing but once i hit the shuttle the real racket does feel a lot more solid and faster. mind you the real racket has a proper amount of tension whereas the fake would be about or less than 20lbs. if you're playing for fun i recommend you name him a price like CHEAP or you want a full refund with additional postage to be refunded. if he doesn't agree threaten (nicely) to blow his cover. i did the same and paid for the fake racket with NGB95 strings for A$45 which is ok for me. he gave me back A$95

Hi Calvino, that's a very good feedback on your post. I honestly was quite happy with the racket (compared to the one that I'm using at the moment). I haven't tested it yet (planning to this Sunday), but I probably won't ask for a full refund, but can probably negotiate like you said with the seller, as I meant to expect a genuine item when I made the purchase.
The seller asked me to give him 5 stars when he sent the item. I said to him I will, assuming the racket is genuine. So it seems that he wants to hold his selling reputation.
I'll see how it goes (still waiting for his reply), but thanks for the insight post. I won't expect much but who knows.

I'll see how it goes (still waiting for his reply), but thanks for the insight post. I won't expect much but who knows.
You had better complain to e-Bay for receiving fake (not as seller's description) goods from that guy. Selling fake products in e-Bay will affect public interests.
I used to sell some not so popular genuine Yonex racquets (such as Nano Speed 8000, 2U) on e-Bay at pretty low price (A$170) because I do not want to keep old stock for too long. (It means that now in 2008, I do not want to keep those racquets manufactured before Jan 2007). Unfortunately, they were difficult to be sold because so many fake Yonex racquets at price around $60 are selling in e-Bay.

Oh right, sorry, I had no idea. I read the first post, decided I didn't have the time to go through all 201 pages, so I then posted.
Do you think you could be kind enough to point me in the right direction?

This racquet is definitely a fake. Cone code 080170JP means that the rqcquet was made on 08 Jan 2007. The serial no. 7488703 is too high. With date code on 08/01/07, the serial number is only 66xxxxx. FYR, I have one genuine Ti-10 with shaft serial 6628543 and cone code 180178TW.
Thanks for the help.

hey is it me or does it seem like leehism never says the racket is fake. i havent seen one post from him where he says it is fake. im not saying anything against you leehism its just a bit weird.
I don't verify the shaft serials and cone codes of Yonex racket bought or to be bought from eBay, the rackets of which are mostly fake. This is the main reason why I seldom put up post saying racket is fake.

As drift mentinoed, please use the search. It has been talked about a lot.
The serial/date code do have a relation. In this case yours doesn't because just reading the code speaks for itself.
The other question which should be asked if this racket was purchase from a Yonex authorized dealer? Also how much was the racket purchased for?

Do you have any patience? The people who are familar the serial date/code are not on 24/7.
Those everyone else's rackets which you are referring to is obviously counterfeit that even the not as experienced can tell. As for genuine which are in fact checks, these will take longer as you need to wait for the experienced to tell.
If you also have pictures to provide, that will also help for the people who can check by visual (like myself) will be useful also.

I have checked in the information of your Yonex AT500
1) shaft Serial:7225597; Cone Date Code:291079UK (date=29 Oct 2007)
2) shaft Serial:7239031; Cone Date Code:021179UK (date=02 Nov 2007)
to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, their serial nos. and date codes are legitimate.
However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the rackets carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain their total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.

Buy from a Yonex authorized dealer next time. It would save all the trouble.

Answer these two questions then it pretty much self explanatory.
1) When was the Arc Saber 10 released?
2) Do you understand the serial date codes?

For the cone code of 040284SP (date=04 Feb 2008) the valid shaft serial should be near 7421000.
For Yonex high end rackets the highest shaft serial in my list of Yonex rackets made in Japan is 7576613 for the month of Apr 2008; Your shaft serial of 9775677 is well too high.
There is no Yonex Nanospeed 800 but there is a Nanospeed 8000
