Hi,
Please check if the racket is real?
racket model: Yonex Armortec 300
shaft serial: 4982549
cone code : 1406421P or 14062IP
source : Queenways Shopping Centre , Sports Link
price : US$ 145 ( include big termal bag
Thank you.
some fake rackets can be identified via their serial numbers. if you wonder if your racket is a fake, post them here so we can verify them for you. the format of the serial number is:
1234567 311226XX
in additional to the serial number, you need to tell us:
FROM WHOM DID YOU BUY THE RACKET FROM?
that usually tells us if it is genuine or not.
here is the template. cut and paste it into your post and fill in the details. every line are mandatory. whomever do not follow the following template will have their posts deleted:
---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8----
racket model: Yonex XXXX XXXX
shaft serial: 1234567
cone code : 123456AB
source : shop name, location / ebay seller id (must include). be very specific here.
price : US$???
---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8----
PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THE ABOVE INFORMATION.
read this article to understand what the serial number mean:

Most of Yonex rackets selling on eBay are fake. I think the above AT-900P rackets are fake, too. Serial numbers are too low. On 24 April 2006, AT-900 may not have been released.

Please can you tell me is this a genuine yonex Badmintonracket
Most of Yonex rackets selling on eBay are fake. The above NS9000 racket is fake, too. Cone Code is wrong. 207422SP indicates the racket is made on the 20th of the 74th month 2002.

hello can you check this racket
arc saber 10
shaft serial : 6545808
cone code : 200772CH
source :china
price : a gift from my brother
thank you
For the cone code of 200772CH (date=20 Jul 2007), the valid shaft serial should be around 7032900.
For the shaft serial no. of 6545808, the valid cone code should be 29116xCC or 30116xCC (date=29 or 30 Nov 2006)
Further arc saber 10 was launched in Jan 2008.
IMHO your arc saber 10 shaft serial : 6545808 cone code : 200772CH is a fake.

However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the racket carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain its total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.
I believe the seller just gave you the wrong case.
It is very very rare that "Yonex" racket manufacturers make fake rackets out of low end Yonex models.

From the ser# and cone code, they do match. However, a used AT800-d for 180 euro? You can buy a new AT900-t and have change for 2 tubes of shuttles and a dinner.

Haha! first of all, thanks!
and second: indeed I thought it was a lot of money too.
But the guy that bought it was easyily influenced by the salesman, and that salesman is very expensive one, further on... it's not really my problem that he payed way too much.. I paid 60 euros for it and it was his second racket, so hardly used!
I guess I can say I did a great deal then :cool::D

what is that mean??
Well there are alot of people here at BC who know a lot more about counterfeits and how to recognize them.
All I know is dat the serials/shaft codes often form a first indication on the authenticity of such a product.
this code indicates a counterfeit
xxyycgLL
xx==> date (day)
yy==> Month
c ==> Year
g ==> so far.. unknown
LL ==> Country code
So where is the problem here?
xx==> fine! there are more than 20 days in a month
yy==> Problem! there aren't more than 12 months in a year as far as I know
C==> 2005
g==>not important
LL==> country code: Singapore
so, probably counterfeit! unless a more experienced BC member says the contrary..
Sorry...
cheers,
Pat!

In short, this is a shopping enquiry :(
A few of us have raised a pertinent point:
Shouldn't we try to guard against fakes and fake-sellers?
The answer is: Yes, we should.
But should all that be here, in this thread? ;)
Quite a few of our members have diligently collated a bank of information which they are now using to reassure owners of genuine Yonex racquets. It'd be very very inconsiderate of us to post away from the purpose of the thread. By doing so, we are forcing those members (like leehsim, for instance) to wade through dozens of irrelevant posts just to find the posts eligible for verification. That's certainly not being nice to those who are volunteering their time to help strangers like us :)
Rather than redefine frequently repeated positions, let's make it simple:
This thread is for owners to verify the genuineness of their racquets.
Other enquiries related to planned, cancelled, botched or future purchases belong to the Market Place.

He also says it has CH printed on the cone above the string tension sticker & also on the shaft itself just before the shaft enters the cone. He did also mention the racket doesn't have the notch at the top of the frame for restringing purposes. Thanks for your help.

I have checked in the information of your Yonex Muscle Power 55 shaft Serial:4081700; Cone Date Code:071122SP (date=07 Nov 2002) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, its serial no. and date code are legitimate.
However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the racket carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain its total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.
I believe MP55 was released around Feb 2001. It is because in my list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, there is one entry of MP55 with the shaft serial 2953066 and cone code 280212SP (date=28 Feb 2001).

For the cone code of 280844CH (date=28 Aug 2004), the valid shaft serial should be around 5129680.
For the shaft serial of 3976044, the valid cone code should be xx0825CC (date=xx Aug 2002).
IMHO the Yonex Muscle Power 100 shaft serial: 3976044 cone code : 280844CH (date=28 Aug 2004) is a fake.

Thanks for this.. I suspected as much after reviewing a few different threads on this site. It bothered me enought that I went to a reputable badminton shop here in Vancouver today and the staff there also came to the same conclusion. As such - I am completely soured on playing with it (it felt OK - but I am not the type of player that a real MP100 would be approriate for anyway!) - so I ended up purchasing a new Armortec 500 that they had in stock. If you don't mind - I should run those numbers through you as well....
