hey matt
racket model: Yonex Nanospeed 9000
shaft serial: 5278780
cone code : 141156JP
source : A shop in Oriental Plaza, Beijing china (underneth Grand Hyatt Hotel) Beijing, China
For the date code of 141156JP (date=14 Nov 2005), the valid shaft serial no. should be around 5817900.
For the shaft serial no. of 5278780, the date should be near 13 Dec 2004.
Yonex Nanospeed 9000 Type S/X was launched in Jan 2006.
IMHO, your Yonex Nanospeed 9000 shaft serial: 5278780 cone code : 141156JP is a fake.

i've seen it too but just remember that a legit serial/date code does not necessarily mean that the racquet is genuine. i think both the physical aspects and the serial/date code should be inspected since counterfeits are getting better and better :(.

totally agree..sometimes the fakes use the original serial numbers too..wish yonex come out with new ways to enhance the racquets every year so that there will be a clear difference between the fakes and the originals before the pirates can catch up with them..

Well that's your major mistake because about 90% of the rackets on Ebay is fake.
Actually do you have a picture of that racket of the NS9K? Because with that date code, the serial should be around the 6 Mil range. Also please provide the auction number for it.

Hello people i have a very quick question about genuine models:
I'v see some yonex "mad in china" and "made in malasia" typed at the bottom of the grip instead of "Japan" this models are MP29 with FR serials.
The seller is a French famous "decathlon".
Is it possible this models to be genuine?

i have not heard of Yonex racket being made in Malaysia. do you have more information? like model? photos?
Decathlon is a reputable chain in France. i don't believe they will sell counterfeit. so if indeed we have Yonex being made in Malaysia, that will be interesting to find out.

I can't say it's fake or not, since you can't provide the cone serial. However, I don't think many fake manufactures even bother to produce a fake for a lower end model. Usually, the fakes are for the higher end models, which generate much greater profit for the fake sellers.

Yes because this thread is not to be used for shopping inquires or a shopping guide. Also to answer about your question, you should contact Yonex to inquire about who are the authorized dealers in the Philippines. This way, will ensure that you will obtain a genuine racket.

It seems to be a fake (sold by the Yonex dealer :(. In fact I couldn't ask them for proof of official dealer :p) as the shaft code is too high for the manufactured date. But amazingly the serial number seems to be laser engraved. I tried to scratch it but the engrave is still there. 4 years ago and a fake is already made with this technology??? And other appear good.
However, I spent not much for it and I played well with it. It's time to upgrade :D
Thanks so much for you all because I intended to buy something on ebay. So that I looked for distinction of fake and got to your forum. But now I will go to the Yonex shop :)

If you are trying to answer your own question, then you are kind of wrong!!
Because the lower end Yonex rackets have different coding system.

shaft serial: 6466721
cone code : 220822SP
source : some Yonex's dealer in Vietnam (4 years ago, I can't remember)
price : ~US$50
It seems to be a fake (sold by the Yonex dealer :(.

It's counterfeit. Looking at the auction itself, the pictures speak for itself.
serial numbers are laser engraved properly and everything
If you have a look a the genuine racket, the above quote is not true as the counterfeit does not look like the genuine article.

Alright, well for $10 dollars hopefully its a decent racket anyway, it feels alright, but i already have a Yonex Isometric 60 (i think its 60) Light which is 100% genuine, is that a better racket than the knockoff nanospeed 9000?

Only you can tell if the $10 fake (plus the extra s/h) is worth the money and headache or not.

Again just to make sure and following on from my discussion with Dreamzz pls find the photos of the MP99 attached. Could you briefly confirm this is indeed a fake?
(Would be great to understand where the difference lies as the guy I bought the racket from still says this is a genuine one)
Many thanks!
Apologies for big pictures,

the nanos seem alright, but it would be better if you could take some pics for us to see, have a look at previous posts to see what angles of pics would be helpful.
as for the mp99, it's definitely a fake.
Dear all,
just bought 3 yonex rackets on Ebay, but all from private resellers with less than 200 transactions and at decent prices (60-100EUR), so not underpriced. First two new, last one used "in 5 trainings" but looks more used than that.

just repeating myself, checking serial # is a dinosaur method to tell fakes from real. Of coz the guy insist it's real. Know any crooks who leisurely like to incriminate themselves???

I would not trust a counterfeit racket anyday. If tht was the case, I would of just purchased a low end Yonex racket instead if you had a limited amount of money.
