racket model: Yonex Arcsaber 10
shaft serial: 7459414
cone code : 180282CH (distributed in China)
source : off a mate
price : not sure, can't of been to dear if he gave it to me
According to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, the shaft serial and cone code are valid.

However the closest item in my inofrmationm list is another Arcsaber 10 of shaft serial 7459411 and cone code of 180282JP; 3 number ahead of yours but it is distributed in Japan.

The distribution code for 2 different countries with very close shaft serials disturb me. I suggest you post photos of your Arcsaber 10 for BC member for further comment.

I'm not pretty sure what generation it is, as fas as I know from the seller, it is 2008 AT700. Fyi the Racquet has a picture of the dragon on the shaft.

1) not the right place to ask

2) yes, you can change it to whatever specification. however, be warned that if you string above 22 pounds, Yonex could void the warranty. if its graphite though, chances are it can take the tension.

At first I am really sorry to ask this question in this thread.
Actually I'm very new to converse in a forum, precisely this is my first joining in a forum. Still I am sorry again.:(

And I am really grateful to the people like you in this forum. I am not a skilled player, even I have not played any tournament still, I have started this play very lately (at the age of thirty) due to lack of financial & family support. I am playing in a little club in my town, nobody is there to train me explicitly, I just see others' skill and am trying to learn and follow their techniques... Precisely I am just trying to improve my play, my timing, my stepping, my skill.
The highly skilled people like you in this forum are giving advice to a beginner like me is just a blessing towards us. That's why I am really grateful to you people.

I actually bought three Yonex Nano Speed 8000 -racquets from the same person, and, oddly enough, they all have the same codes (161205SP) in their cones. Same batch, perhaps? Be as it may, I'd greatly appreciate if someone could confirm the genuinity of my racquet.

it doesn't matter what the shaft serial is because the NS8000 was not out in 2000. thus, the rackets are counterfeit.

Really? Should the racquets be fake, I'd be shocked, since the person I bought them from is a badminton coach and a veteran player. Could anybody else (leehsim, maybe?) confirm ryim_'s claim? I need to be completely sure of this.

Thank you in advance, and thank you, ryim_!

Jymbalaya, the shaft codes weren't identical; the codes were 6184867, 6184937, and 6182419. Only the cone codes were identical.

not only that but for a shaft serial of 618xxxx, should be reflected with a date code that is much later than the year 2000. perhaps the coach himself doesn't even know its counterfeit.

Thank you, ryim_. It's all starting to smell quite fishy...

Another strange thing with the racquets is that every one of them have the PBSI (Badminton Association of Indonesia) logo permanently embedded into their cones. And two of the racquets had this weird, golden hologram sticker glued on the cone where the code is. Unfortunately I don't remember what the sticker said. The codes in the shaft and the cone, however, were engraved and seemed legitimate. The paintjob and everything else about the racquets seemed fine, too.

PBSI and the sticker hologram does not mean that it is counterfeit. Genuine rackets do have those but in your case, they would not look legit.

Ah, I see. Thanks!

Are you still sure that the racquets are counterfeit, though, referring to the codes in their cones? Is there no way the racquets could be genuine when equipped with the codes mentioned above?

What happened is something like this:

leehsim quoted nutbad5981's first post and suggested that the poster recheck the cone code.
nutbad5981 replied that the numbers he had posted were right.
Since they don't tally with leehsim's record, leehsim suggested that nutbad5981 post racquet pictures for possible visual verification.

1) Post #6533 & #6536 by nutbad5981 in the correct formats asking for verification of his racket AT800 DE 4893972 270442JP (date=27 Apr 2004).

2) I read both the posts and I input the information of the shaft serial and cone code and ask for clarification via Post #6539.

3) Confimation by nutbad5981 via Post #6545; I read and check my information list and still cannot fit in his racket data neatly because according to http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=144100&highlight=4895382#post144100 ; Ants has reported his AT800 OF 4895382 200443JP (date=20 Apr 2004).

4) So I suggest him to post photos of racket via Post #6578; hence his latest Post #6593.

Unless Ants can check his AT800 OF cone code to be 280443JP and other BC member good at visual check can confirm authenticity of nutbad5981's racket. Then the confusion can be cleared.

This thread is for verifying Yonex racquets that YOU own.
If you haven't bought it, this post has no place here.

MJ sells legit rackets so that's looking good. the other two are counterfeit. I find it sort of weird that you bought a $235 racket and then went to ebay and bought 2 for a price which is not even half of the arc10.

I figured that the racket from MJ Strings is legit.

As for the other rackets.. those were purchased I think around 2 years ago and I figured they were fake but wanted to check. Would it have been better if I posted that they were a gift and I didn't know what the price was nor their origin?

I will remove the rackets from ebay from the initial request (edit: looks like I can no longer edit my initial post in this thread). I had edited the message and added the ebay rackets since it was unclear to me what 'no ebay enquires' meant exactly. I visited the other thread and there was no sort of organized method of the verification of serial numbers. Hence my post in this thread.

Can someone explicity state in the first message that serial numbers from ebay purchases will not be verified.

Thank you.

The other two rackets of Nanospeed 8000 and Nanospeed 9000X carry cone codes which make no sense. The cone code should be in the format of "MMDDYxCC".
Hence they are fakes.

I think, sooner or later, the counterfeiter will learn the cone date coding.
Then they will make the same format as Yonex (DDMMYx##).

Hopefully Yonex able to make a website to check the codes.

Hi Dreamzz,

The person selling the racket is another friend of my friend. We had a few games before he offered to sell the racket, since he is more used to his AS10. Both the rackets, AS10 and NS9000, seem original in terms of physical appearance and overall performance. Therefore I would like to get some advices/tips from experts here to check whether the serial number is legitimate.

Thanks a million ^_^

Ii'm pretty sure its counterfeit if you look at the grommets. The 900P should be the same as my 900T and the grommet system does not look like this. Also, its a SP racket so shouldn't there be SP on the shaft as well?

Have to agree that it's counterfiet. SP should be on the shaft and the colors do look a bit werid.

this is my second AT900T racket however, i found that the shaft serial code is printed lower at the mark where the letters "c.s.cap" is located where the first one is printed higher. and also the swing with this racket feel somehow different with the swing of the older AT900T and they are both 3U rackets. it may be the tension, anywho thanks again for checking if it real or not
