Normally, I can know a imitation racket from several factors such as YY symbol, printing, S/No, YY hologram, etc., but I found this racket has printed 3UG5 on it (not sticker as normally does). Won't come off even by rubbing.

Other Yonex model that this hypermarket sells, from my observation are genuine.

Any advice?

this is my second AT900T racket however, i found that the shaft serial code is printed lower at the mark where the letters "c.s.cap" is located where the first one is printed higher. and also the swing with this racket feel somehow different with the swing of the older AT900T and they are both 3U rackets. it may be the tension, anywho thanks again for checking if it real or not

I have checked in the information of your Yonex ARCSABER10 shaft Serial:7808074; Cone Code:160783SP (date=16 Jul 2008) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, its respective shaft serial and cone code are legitimate.

However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the racket carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain its total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.

Thanks :) I guess it's ID going by the usual code nomenclature (the I is just a vertical line so i couldn't be sure as the '1''s on the shaft code are also vertical lines without the hook usually at the top of a '1'.

Should be ID, not 1D. Otherwise, it's a fake. Even if the racket a genuine, why the shop still keep year 2004 production goods? The material might in the process of aging.

It's more like saying this scanario for example relating to your own explanation above.

I went and bought a Polk Audio RTiA9 for $30 USD. I only know the company by reputation as I never purchased a speaker before. It turns out to be counterfeit of course. The cost of the genuine item is $850+ USD.

The point I am trying to get a across is the explanation above is not a good reason.

Next time when you do purchase, you should research first.

I didn't know, as someone who has never bought a raquet before only borrowed I only knew of the raquet by reputation. Is there any way I can check to see if the serial numbers possibly match up?

They won't. Even on the off chance they did, you'd still have a fake racket. Does the shaft have CH written on it (just above the cone)? If so, it's certainly a fake.

Just to add on top. If you are unsure of what you are getting into, then it is best to purchase from a Yonex Authorized Dealer.

Definitely. Thanks for adding that but no matter how many times you reiterate it, people always seem to buy the fakes from ebay. Not everyone but enough to give them business.

unfortunately, a lot of people don't know any better, so they believe they are getting a good deal. in any case, at least we're helping to put a dent in their operations, even if it is a small dent. every buyer saved is a buyer satisfied and a small triumph.

Thanks a lot leehsim for your help. ;) I'm glad to hear the serial checks out. All other attributes seem fine. Feels good, grommets are high quality, paint is perfect, ti-mesh is real, hologram stickers, lasered serials.

The only thing I found odd was the YONEX hologram on the cone was very near the end of the cone, close to the shaft. And there was no PBSI logo. But I've read elsewhere on BC that some distribution codes don't carry the PBSI logo.

BTW, one question of curiosity: does anyone know what the last digit in the date code stand for? My guess is a batch number.

we can't use the system to determine the authenticity of that limited racket since they do not have the normal shaft serial in the world edition limited rackets. the only way to check is to post pictures.

You are extremely lucky.
The racquet is a legitimate piece.

And that's very unusual for an ebay find ;)

However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the racket carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain its total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.

Thanks Leehsim!

Thanks leehsim :) Much appreciate it.

I was at Gala Sports again today and found out that the gold hologram sticker is Sunrise's authentication hologram sticker similar to Yonex's for every genuine Yonex racket. I couldn't see it earlier in my racket as the grip wound over 3/4 of the sticker covering the Sunrise name. This sticker comes with all the new Yonex racket stocks distributed through Sunrise. I believe parallel imports will not have it i.e. from other regions where Sunrise is not the Yonex distributor.

I'm 90% sure it'll be an I, I just can't see anybody faking a Muscle Power 19 - it tends to be only high end rackets they fake. I know this is a fairly big ask but would there be any chance of you taking a picture of the cone code? That way, we can clear this up for sure.

leeshim won't answer inquiries from eBay.
Anyway, from the cone code, your racket is a fake. There is no 23 months.
Price also too cheap compare original.

Thank you very much for your time and effort.

I have checked in the information of your Yonex Ti 10 (Yellow) shaft Serial:6919723; Cone Code:290578IP (date=29 May 2007) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, its respective shaft serial and cone code are legitimate.

However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the racket carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain its total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.

ty Matt,

Now i am just wondering because i found this link in BC that is selling the same racquet (at900p) with the same serial and cone # but from another member name cappius

http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67161

just confused a but cuz everything is the same but from 2 different members (unless the two member names belong to the same person, or one bought from another and re-sell it)... any thoughts on this?

Matt
03-11-2009, 01:54 PM
It's possible that one bought from the other and is selling it. Send a message to gtabad to confirm that this is the same racket and it was purchased from cappius.

If's one person with two members names then it is against the forum rules.

The price is about right (different currency) because the cappius price is in USD, while gtabad price is in CAD.

The Arc10 is definitely fake - there is no 81st day or 29th month, I believe the shaft code should be higher for a racket made in 2009 too (although that's a little irrelevant).

The NS9000K's cone could be legit. If so, it was made on the 21st of November 2008. However, the shaft serial should be much higher for an NS9KX made at that time meaning IMHO, it is also fake. Wait for someone to confirm this though.

yes, you are right. both are fakes. Nov 09 shall have much higher count, like 78 or 79xxxxx.

It is with great regret that I inform you that you have purchased a fake. The cone code denotes the date the racket was made on and where it was intended for distribution. Yours was apparently made on the 20th day of the 71st month in the year 2000. Once again, I'm very sorry and I hope that maybe you could get your money back?
