Again just to make sure and following on from my discussion with Dreamzz pls find the photos of the MP99 attached. Could you briefly confirm this is indeed a fake?

(Would be great to understand where the difference lies as the guy I bought the racket from still says this is a genuine one)

Many thanks!
Apologies for big pictures,
Otti

It's too counterfeit.

Is it possible for the serial code on the cone of the racquet to have duplicates?

100857HK can there be racquets of the same brand and type have that same coding?

Remember the cone code is a DATE and of course, they don't just make one racket a day :D. It's possible for rackets to share the cone code, but not the shaft code.

This does not even pass the most basic check: i.e. the correctness of the Date Code (refer to the FAQ section if you are not clear on this).

It says the racket is produced on the 27th day, 20th month in 2003, which is impossible.

Hope you did not spend any money on this.

That is one number too many and one letter short for the country code.

An example for the cone is: 120456SP

Six numbers and two letters.

I believe your Yonex Muslce Power 9 should be Muscle Power 29 and the cone code should be 201264ID (You should try to read closly to see the different between the 1 on the shaft and the I on the cone; ID stand for India).

If what I said above is correct, then the following applys:
According to my information list of Yonex rackets Developed by Yonex Japan (on the shaft) and made in Taiwan (on the cap), your Yonex Muscle Power 29 Serial:8993082; Date Code:201264ID (date=20 Dec 2006), its serial no. and date code are legitimate.

Normally when you purchase a racket (ie. CD, US, JP), they normally come with the matching case included. SP is an exception because they use 3rd party cases. I think also some other racket codes also use 3rd party cases as well.

I think it's South Pacific. Not sure though.

i think it stands for singapore, cause there's TH for thailand and IP for indonesia, which should all fall under south pacific if that were the case.

All the above being debated for too many times. Please do a search, or reference to FAQ. :cool: It's down to your own belief, whether to spend the extra $$$.

If you afraid to get a fake, either go with a reputable ebayer (howver, very few, you can find their name from this thread), or to be best, go with a reputable local authorized dealer. The price tag might be a bit high, but you don't have to worry about anything, and you usually receive good service and warranty as well.

Ok, but it's on one of two, second code in normal. There is trouble
that I haven't big pictures with detailes of real one, in catalogue
only small pictures present. So, I have some small doubt. If see on pictures
other detail that can determine something please write it, next time I buy it,

The logo including the word "YONEX" racket pretty much speaks for itself indicating that it is genuine. I wouldn't worry about it since this kind of imperfections have been seen on higher end Yonex rackets before.

Aiyo.. The serial number is fake!! While the yonex website showed the counterfeit product sign cannot believe too? Cause mine racket serial number is written by laser shot while the YONEX word is Y0NEX Instead of Y0NEX.

I have checked in the information of your Yonex Muscle Power 99 shaft Serial:6448042; Cone Date Code:041063SP (date=04 Oct 2006) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, its serial no. and date code are legitimate.

However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the racket carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain its total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.

leehsim,
Yes, the words is "Made in China". I think on this site displayed old one model before 2007 year, because on http://www.yonex.be/htmlsite/products.html in Badminton 2007 : Racquets 2.pdf displayed new blue color model.

racket model: Yonex Isometric 25 DF
shaft serial: 190373RU
cone code : 4063949, 4063927
source : Some Russian non official seller
price : 45 USD for each
made in China

If it fake would like to know where is difference on photos.

Follow up from my reply to you via Post #692, I would like add further comment:

1) The Yonex rackets with the phrases " Developed by Yonex Japan" painted on the shaft and "Made in China" on the butt end of the handle started to launched in Year 2004 with the serial 9xxxxxx.

2) I believe Yonex wants to keep the 7-digit serial no. format; when the serial no. reached 9999999, it would starts with 1xxxxxx.

3) Hence your rackets Yonex Isometric 25 DF with shaft serial nos: 4063949, 4063927 cone code : 190373RU (date=19 Mar 2007) start with 4xxxxxx for that date.

4) IMHO, your two Yonex Isometric 25 DF are genuine based on my reasoning that fake racket manufacturers normally make more money out of high end Yonex rackets.

I'm REALLY not optimistic about this one, as there are several little niggles I've spotted (and, if I understand correctly, the year code is 2000:crying:). However, I'll be glad if it is genuine. If not, I'll be taking legal action. If intend to do as such, is there any way I can PROVE the racket is a fake (to the satisfaction of legal proceedings, that is)?

Btw, does anybody have the web address for the application that checks Yonex serial numbers? I found it by accident when checking my AT800's, and it compares your serial number with a graph.

Yep, definately counterfeit. There is no website to check for serials besides contacting Yonex Japan to check the serials.

Yep, definately counterfeit. There is no website to check for serials besides contacting Yonex Japan to check the serials.I thought so - seller has been contacted. Other clues:

1. Top silver section did not carry "POWER" logo - simply said "ARMORTEC";

2. Case was not the same as the one that came with my AT800 - this one was rougher, heavier, and had an obviously different Yonex logo;

3. Paint job was not quite right - the "wasp" stripes were too gradually separated, not like the pronounced ones on the real deal;

I have to say, though, that the weight and its distribution were pretty close to a genuine AT900P (head weight and all). Also, the grommet pattern was the same (but the seller didn't use the recommended pattern:confused:). I'm just sorry I can't post any pictures!

Took a 19 mile trek this morning to buy a real 900P from a guy who's been running his family business for 15 years and is mad keen on badders. This time, the POWER motif is present, the wasp stripes are correct, the hologram is here and the cone code indicates March 2007 manufacture. I had to get a 4U, though:o.

Comparing the real and fake side by side, I can see other differences now. The shaft decal is raised instead of flat, and its lettering's white surround is thicker. All the other decals have a slightly blurred quality, as well. Some things to watch out for, people!

many thanx again

I have checked in the information of your Yonex Nanospeed 9000 Type S shaft Serial:6746778; Cone Date Code:080372CH (date=08 Mar 2007) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, its serial no. and date code are legitimate.

However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the racket carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain its total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.
