Also, I took a closer look at the 2 ArcSaber 10s I have, one bought from eBay/China and the other I brought back from Taiwan. Hopefully, my observations can serve as additional check in addition to serial number verification:
0) To begin with, the Arc 10 from China showed up with a slight tilt in its head.

1) The Yonex sticker seems to peel off more easily with the fake one.

2) I am confused about the logo printed at the butt of the grip. I read somewhere that the 'A' should look more like a triangle and that is what the fake one looks like??

3) The biggest difference is in the "paint job":
a) Arcsaber 10 has several differently-colored stripes. Run your finger over the stripes around the rim, you can feel a variation between two colors, almost like the stripes were colored tapes. With the fake one, it is simply smooth. I guess that the real one underwent several painting steps to get the stripes (thus the layered effects) while the fake one only got one step of painting.

b) With the faked ones, some of the characters are printed with shadows of a lighter color around the edge of the character. The real one's printing never has the shadow. It is crisp and well defined.

c) There are "arc" shapes printed on the shaft, two rows of them containing some messages. The two rows are aligned with the real one. With the fake one, there is an offset between the arc shapes. Imagine it looks like this:

It is tough to get the pictures to show these variations. Looks like the fake factories did not spend enough money to get the paint jobs done right.

I forgot to add one more difference:
There are Yonex logos printed on the original red grip wrapping. With the fake one, the material feels flimsy and the printed patterns rather weak / obscure. With the real one, the grip material feels more substantial that it might actually be used without additional grap and the printed patterns have good definitions.

A point of clarification. No, No, No, I did not check the authenticity of your racquet. What I did was to verify the validity of the shaft serial and cone code.

This is the first step towards authentication of any Yonex racket.

Just for further information, the racquet was inspected by a local professional stringer who confirmed it is indeed genuine :)

You have read the date correct and I know the 100 was available in at least 2000 http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif. Your serial number is roughly the same as an earlier posted MP100 with the same date so plausible at least. Unfortunately leehsim seems to have missed that post as it was neither confirmed or turned down. But in the very least the numbers are logical

i have tried NS9900 in early 2009, when my friend got a NS9900 produced in Dec 2008. that racket feels like not stable enough ,eapecially the frame feel a little quake when smash with a big power. but in June 2008, i tried another NS9900 which produced Feb 2009, this one don't have such feelings.

so i said the prime NS9900 IS NOT AS GOOD AS now.

Yeah the number-letter combination is the cone code but that was listed under serial so at first I thought it was a fake but then noticed the mistake and corrected my post. Thanks Leehsim, I've thoroughly inspected my racket and it looks to be top notch. I've compared it to the one my old high school coach has, that he paid $220 for from a local pro shop and it's exactly the same. The bumpers near the T-joint, the inlay of Ti mesh along the side, as well as the thick grommetts. I'm content that my friend gave me a genuine racket.

oh ok, according to the yonex australia website stadium sports are an official yonex dealer, the codes are off the picture from the listing but stadium sports have put the same pics for another listing of an mp100 so i will have to wait until the racquet arrives and see what the serial numbers are then.

I bought this racket from him, he assured me it's a geniune yonex racket, though not made in UK but from other countries.

The shaft serial 1st number is covered by Yonex writing 'c.s.cap' so I think it's 7

Please anyone tell me if it's a real Yonex racket. He seems to be selling it to many people
