Well, using the information in the guide I understand that the serial is given in the format: DDMMYXCC
This would be 25th of August in 2009. Does not sound suspicious to me.

And yeah, it was my fault not to check before, but that seller has not yet appeared in this forum, it was the first racket he sold - plus he confirmed to me its a legit model. Price -of course- is an issue, but the racket is not strung so I thought many people might just not want to buy a not immediately usable racket.

I will put this guy out of his misery silentheart
YOUR RACKET IS FAKE ! Shaft serial and cone code do not match

Go read the first post please. You'll see that (i) you need to post in the required format, and (ii) this isn't an enquiries thread so your racket won't be verified anyway.

Kind regards

I did read the first post, please tell me what in particular I didnt pay attention to. I do own the racket, I provided all required information. Furthermore, the date code seems to be legit.
The seller confirmed to me its a legit JP model, so I'd be really happy to know what I bought - and maybe get the seller off eBay.

I always point back to the first post when this part is relevant:

"For eBay purchases and shopping enquiries, post here:
http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13655"

But apparently everyone has read it (nothing personal, but obviously you are not the first nor will you be the last) ...
(and it was added for good reason: most eBay purchases turn out to be fake. And asking to check even the most obvious fakes, the ones where the date alone doesn't make any sense, only means more unnecessary work for leehsim. Simply put: asume racquets on eBay are fake unless from a trusted seller, trusted not in terms of feedback score but confirmed as selling legit in the "market place" section of the forum)

Your racquet was made in August 2009 as you have found out yourself using the format. Racquets made in 08/2009 have serial numbers above 8 million (8xxxxxx). Since yours is in the 7 million range it already doesn't add up, hence it is FAKE as LD Rules has posted.

It's not an EBay sale, it's an advertise on a local web site from small town over here in Qc. He told me the racket is not fake and i asked him for closer picture of serial # on the 4 side of the shaft. Those # were given by him to me. Why would i buy it if it's a fake.
It's a used one at $125.00.
Thank's in advance

shaft serial: 8707079
cone code : 210892TH
source : Gift from a friend who didn't like it coz it was too stiff for him he said
price : he sold it to me for $AU 230

The reasons why i think its fake is because of a little imperfection in the paintjob around the sides of the main frame and some badly done grommets (most of them are ok)...my friend also sed that he had bought it off a guy from the US BUT was shipped and manufactured from thailand...that sounds odd to me...0_0...

The country codes, last two letters of cone code are to indicate the country it intended to distiribute; in this case TH means for Thailand distribution. Please read Post #1 of this thread for more details.

On the shaft it should have the phrase " Made in Japan"

For the shaft serial of 6115250, the valid cone code should be somthing like 23046xCC (date=23 Apr 2006).

IMHO, your Nanospeed 7000 shaft Serial:6115250; Cone Code:161205SP (date=16 Dec 2000) is a fake.

1) you bought the racket, but you don't dare to peel off the sticker

2) you haven't bought the racket, you remember the code and want to make sure before you go and purchase it

*usually people will peel off the sticker to confirm and verify the production date

hahaha, just guessing here, anyway your cone code was (22nd January 2007) seems ok by comparing to your shaft code :D

better leave this to the expert (leehsim) :D

Buying it 2nd hand. Dunno d ori price.

you need to provide the 2nd hand price as well :D

by the way, Ti 10 have three different generation, which generation you are refering to? 1st, 2nd, 3rd? :confused:

because if your Ti 10 was 1st Gen and based on your cone code, the production date was 12th December 2007, it can be suspicious :rolleyes:

just in case you don't know how to identify which Gen of Ti 10, refer the colour.

1st = black + red

2nd = silver + white + yellow

3rd = black + purple

not sure how accurate or true is this...:o

but this is what I observed the connection between Shaft code and Cone code by Yonex.

whatever Cone code under production 2009, the Shaft code will have a running number starting from 8xxxxxx

this goes to:

2009 = 8xxxxxx
2008 = 7xxxxxx
2007 = 6xxxxxx
2006 = 5xxxxxx

for example: Arc Z slash with Cone code 230993JP and Shaft code 6587435 is consider a fake, because the Shaft code was too low.

this is just my observation :D

This thread is only for Yonex racquets that YOU own.
This is not a thread for shopping enquiries.

Some fake rackets can be identified via their serial numbers. If you wonder if your racket is a fake, post them here so we can verify them for you.

The format of the serial number is:

1234567 311226XX

In additional to the serial number, you need to tell us:

WHO DID YOU BUY THE RACKET FROM?

That usually tells us if it is genuine or not.

Here is the template.
Cut and paste it into your post and fill in the details.
Every line is mandatory.
If you do not follow the template, your post will be deleted:

---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8----
racket model: Yonex XXXX XXXX
shaft serial: 1234567
cone code : 123456AB
source : shop name, location
price : US$???
---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8----

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THE ABOVE INFORMATION.

Read this article to understand what the serial number means:

For the shaft serial of 7837008 , the valid cone code should be somthing like 30078xCC (date=30 Jul 2008).

IMHO, your Arcsaiber 9 shaft Serial:7837008; Cone Code:090991JP (date=09 Sep 2009) is a fake.

Hi Leehsim,

Really need your help, i only able to see the first 5 digit of my cone code. last 3 digit was stick by the sticker. Hope your expertise could help.

racket model: Muscle Power 45 (SP)
shaft serial: 6635768
cone code : 22017?xx (220173SP)
source : AJ, Puchong
price : RM295
I have checked in the information of your Yonex Muscle Power 45 (SP) shaft Serial:6635768; Cone Code:22017?SP (date=22 Jan 2007) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, its shaft serial and cone code are legitimate.

However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the racket carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain its total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.

Country Code guessed to be SP from the model indicated as Muscle Power 45 (SP) on the shaft.

The missing digit guessed to be 3 from my list of Yonex racket made in Japan of another Muscle Power 45 carrying shaft serial 6655333 and coe code 290173SP.

So the cone code of your Muscle Power 45 should be 220173SP

Thank you so much leehsim! I have looked it over carefully and have not found any inconsistencies. The only thing that threw me off was its weight. It is approximately 100g which is quit heavy. I was looking to buy a lighter racket and originally thought this 3u is what I need. Do you have any suggestions on what racket I should purchase for a beginner like me?

I have checked in the information of your Yonex Arcsaber-Z Slash shaft Serial:8754343; Cone Code:140992SP (date=14 Sep 2009) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, its shaft serial and cone code are legitimate.

However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the racket carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain its total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.

Hi Guys,
This Raquet was a gift from my wife, so I'm hesitant to ask too many questions of where she got it from but she does use E-bay and I'm a little surpised that she would buy me such an expensive raquet.

racket model: Yonex Archsaber 10
shaft serial: 6673624
cone code : 080682CH
source : Not game to ask
price : Probably less than $200AU

I have checked in the information of your Yonex Archsaber 10 shaft Serial:6673624; Cone Code:080682CH (date=08 Jun 2008) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan.

For the cone code of 080682CH (date=08 Jun 2008), the valid shaft serial should be close to 7725000.

For the shaft serial of 6673624, the valid cone code should be somthing like 06027xCC (date=06 Feb 2007).

IMHO, your Archsaber 10 shaft Serial:6673624; Cone Code:080682CH (date=08 Jun 2008) is a fake.

2 answer for your question.
1) if the racquet is strung by a good and expereinced stringer, yes, it can take up to 24 lb without any proble,
2) Wrong place to ask this question.

hi guys, I just wanna ask about my armortec 250 racket. leehsim already confirmed that the codes on my racket are genuine, and my new racket looks the biz (grommets, paintjob, hologram and everything) but the bottom of the handle says, made in taiwan not the usual Japan. can anyone tell me what the significance of this means. leehsim said that it had a taiwan cap code but shouldn't all yonex rackets have Japan marked on them and nothing else or i am just being totally clueless. I have heard of lower end models being made in taiwan from other threads but i dont really understand the significance, also i thought that if someone was trying to make a fake i.e. my racket then they did a good job then made a huge cock up by putting a made intaiwan at the bottom. it must have been deliberate or else why not go the whole hog and print japan on it?

You are talking about two seperate things.

The racket code indicates the country the racket is to be distributed. Ie. JP = Japan, CD = Canada, US, = US and etc...

The "Made From" is where the racket is manufactured. High end rackets will say they are made in Japan, while lower ends will not, such as Taiwan or something.

I have checked in the information of your Yonex Nanospeed 7000 shaft Serial:5694542; Cone Code:280853SP (date=28 Aug 2005) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, its shaft serial and cone code may be legitimate.

However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the racket carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain its total legitimacy or authenticity yourself

I put maybe because I am unsure about those rackets with shaft serial 5694542 onward carrying cone code of 28085XCC.

The shaft serial increases with the time line as indicated by the resepctive cone code.

For the record I have keeping, it is so far so good. But I come across 2 sets of inconsistency as follows:

Set 1
Armortec 800OF 5686260 110854TH (date=11 Aug 2005) (preceding valid entry)

Starting of confusing entry
NanoSpeed 8000 5694513 280853SP (date= 28 Aug 2005)

Ending of confusing entry
NanoSpeed 7000 5694575 280853TW (date=28 Aug 2005)

Next valid entry
Armortec 800DE 5698837 240854TH (date=24 Aug 2005)

Notice the shaft serial higher by 4262 but the date 4 day backward.

Set 2
Armortec 900 Technique 6677257 070272JP (date=07 Feb 2007) (preceding valid entry)

Starting of confusing entry
Armortec 900 Power 6678583 230372JP (date= 23 Mar 2007) (starting unconfirmed entry of the stretch))

Ending of confusing entry
Armortec 900 Power 6678587 230372JP (date= 23 Mar 2007)

Next valid entry
Armortec 900 Power 6679341 070272SW (date=07 Feb 2007)

Notice the shaft serial higher by 754 but the date remaining go back 07 Feb 2007.

I have no answer to those above.

I have checked in the information of your Yonex Muscle Power 77 SP shaft Serial:3747925; Cone Code:050168TW (date=05 Jan 2006) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan.

For the cone code of 050168TW (date=05 Jan 2006), the valid shaft serial should be close to 5892000.

For the shaft serial of 3747925, the valid cone code should be somthing like 27032xCC (date=27 Mar 2002).

IMHO, your Muscle Power 77 SP shaft Serial:3747925; Cone Code:050168TW (date=05 Jan 2006) is a fake.

Thanks very much for the thorough and detailed explanation!

Besides that point, even if the shaft serial makes sense, its still counterfeit. The production date is on the 38th month of the year, which doesn't exist obviously.
