I have checked in the information of your Yonex Muscle Power 99 shaft Serial:6278105; Cone Code:161205SP (date=16 Dec 2000) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan.
For the cone code of 161205SP (date=16 Dec 2000), the valid shaft serial should be close to 2850300.

check the paintwork make sure there isn't any ruff patches or mistakes in the paint check the word yonex on the cap to see what it is like
Also get someone else who has a ns8000 old colour that's legit and compare them weight looks etc

I have checked in the information of your Yonex Arc Saber 7 shaft Serial:7038486; Cone Code:240582SP (date=24 May 2008) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan.
For the cone code of 240582SP (date=24 May 2008), the valid shaft serial should be close to 7885000.
For the shaft serial of 7038486, the valid cone code should be somthing like 24077xCC (date=24 Jul 2007).
IMHO, your Arc Saber 7 shaft Serial:7038486; Cone Code:240582SP (date=24 May 2008) is a fake.

No problem
They are both the same weight but the 100 is more flexible than the 200
For $100 you can buy so much more if you are willing to look at other brands
There is Apacs superlight which Is about $100 or so www.apacscanada.com
Or karakal SL70 which is the lightest racket in the world at 70g which may be under $100
There is also the babolat x-feel series which is $89 from www.sohubuy.com highly recomended rackets and everywhere else they are about $150 so it's a bargain I would recomend as you are looking for a light racket from babolat that you go for the babolat x-feel lite @$89
Babolat rackets don't come with strings so you will have to pay $10 for stringing bit like I said well worth it
Hope this helps

No need to shout
No it's not cause of the price, the seller probaly said that to lure you in and forget about the low price
Firstly, The serials do not match
Secondly, you would never get a racket made on the 26/12/09 on the market less than two weeks after it's made
Thirdly, you would never get that racket for that price even if it was legit with loads of paint chips
Sorry get your money back

Maybe he means nothing is wrong with the cone code.Sometimes it does happend out of few hundreds of NS9900 that is made in one day.I'd say it's genuine.

However, i am not sure why there is a mistake, i am sure it is genuine, if all the other features of the racket look legit then i would say it is legit.

We've always said that although the code is legitimate, it does not mean the racket itself is genuine.

Why do you even still ask since you get them from the same "friend" at "wholesale" price that have been verified before? Wholesale is not a number which can help to tell if it is suspect or not ...
That being said I see nothing to worry about in your numbers http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif.

I doubt this is fake but still need confirmation.
Otherwise, what could be really wrong with fake ones?
Do real ones justify such prices?!?

You seem pretty confident its genuine...how can you tell?
Three questions for you...
1. Did you read post #1?
2. Do you really think that you can get a genuine NS9900 for $50?
3. Do you know what the cone code indicates?

LOL don't misunderstand me, I might express incorrectly, of course I can realize it's not legit or genuine ;-)
1. what's the link? post #1 of this thread? But I have a nice error on #1 for "Read this article to understand what the serial number means:"

It only took like a few seconds to come to the conclusion...read the VERY first post of this thread...it says clearly NO ebay rackets...
As for your code...it indicates that it was manufactured on 13-Dec 2000. You should understand now what I'm trying to say now right?

No worries, I know but need confirmation for my doubt that's all.
131209SP = 13-Dec 2000. It's not very an equation to me, 2000 not quite equal 09... Anyway, thanks a lot for your time and inputs.
I think Badminton can stand fake and legit rackets, as long as one can play at correct level and for just leisure, unlike competitions, don't you agree?

No, I don't agree with this because its unethical and there are consequences to using counterfeits. For example, what if your conterfeit racket breaks, sending the shaft (along with the racket head) flying at another player...its possible. I've seen it happen with genuine low end wilson rackets...let alone counterfeit rackets.
Also, 131209SP does stand for the date I stated, the "9" is a random number so it doesn't mean much. I'm sure other BCF members will likely come and confirm.

Nope... Not if one likes to get burned for unknowingly purchasing a counterfeit racket. As I always say, the money should go toward the cost of a product in general which is genuine.
Especially since the counterfeit is not reliable due to no QC, you don't want to end up having one that shatters.

Ok I got your point and agree with you somehow.
I already have lots of genuine Yonex and Carlton rackets paid in respectable shops or offered back in time by friend. Just want to give a try with a fake one to see if it makes any difference in my gameplay. As to sending a head towards another player, hummm I'm not sure I'm strong enough to do that. Did you mean the head detached from the shaft to fly over and hit another person?!?

There you go (http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22695), the counterfeit racquets just don't stand a chance especially regarding durability. Analogously, don't expect to be able to sprint a low end car with a low maximum speed range to F1 speeds.
Buy smart and budget smart; buying cheap is not always the right choice.

I've seen it happen to a genuine Wilson racket (low end though). Its rare of course but it could happen, especially when the durability of the counterfeit is unknown and can vary quite a bit as well. By the way, your statements seem to contradict with your original post :P

heu, which part did you miss so I can explain you again ;-)
Between paying a real racket for 250$ and a fake one at 50$ for testing something funny, my choice is clear.
My most expensive racket so far is a Nano 500 bought on sale for about 100$. My skills and occasional games cannot afford for more ;-) I have lots of interests besides Badminton actually.
You mentioned that it's for testing. Then why not just go to a store to get a demo racket? Seems to make a more logical sense if you're trying to find out what racket you like to end up with.
Unless you go to the right shops, you don't need to pay $250 (except like Sport Experts!!!)

demo racket? which shops could lend me such an expensive racket for testing? What if I break it? By testing, I want to test a cheap and even fake one version a genuie one, not testing s specific one actually ;-) Otherwise, holding a demo racket (unless for "pros" maybe) cannot help much in playing. So I don't take the point.

You need to do some looking around in your local area.
Ie. Yonex auhorized dealers. Like the one local in my area, I could demo a high end racket for testing. If one breaks it obviously, you bought it - good thing the store takes down your credit card number before it can be demoed. This store also does demos for Tennis as well.

From my understanding, this is what you said...
1. you doubt this is fake...which means you think its genuine
2. then you say you're trying the counterfeit
But I myself have a few other much more expensive interests as well but I don't see myself purchasing a counterfeit because of the price difference. There are better alternatives.
