Could you check this raquet out please. Looking at recent posts, the serial number looks too high for the date code, but it would be nice to know for sure. Sellers description is second hand, but as new.
Thanks.

It's too counterfeit and you did answer your own suspicions.
The pictures in the auction speaks for itself especially since it is supposedly a JP coded racket.

ps. what are the differences on a jp raquet to a uk one. I still have my old cracked uk raquet.
PM if details are sensitive.

Yes, report to both Ebay and PayPal to setup a claim.
As to the difference between the JP and other coded rackets (it's applicable to them as well), is that JP is the only one which comes wiht a soft cloth case. The other difference from looking on the side of the head, is that only JP only has the word "GUMMETAL" with Elastic Ti.
I have also attached the picture of my JP racket on the side for your reference.

Hi;
Does anybody know if it is true that the quality of a JP version YY racket is better than other versions?
My JP NS9000X is less stiffer than my US NS8000.
1. There are already tons of debates regarding XX version is better or worse than ZZ version. There are believers and non-believers. So, pick you own choice whether to believe or not.
2. Whether stiffer or not, is part of the racket feature itself (unless it's a defect which is off spec). Stiffer does not mean better or worse, just suit for different users.
3. I don't think this thread is the place to discuss which version, model is better.

Do a search on it first; There are a tons of threads regarding these;
secondly, this is not the right place to ask this question!!

Hi. thanks for looking it up for me. But what do i have to look for on the racket to ascertain its authenticity??
For a start, you can read and try to understand what the official Yonex Japan site said about fake rackets.

and then, search the Badminton Central Forum's threads on fake rackets.

racket model: Yonex Armortec 900 Technique

I have checked in the information of your Yonex Armortec 900 Technique shaft Serial:6806056; Cone Date Code:040472TW (date=04 Apr 2007) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, its serial no. and date code are legitimate.

I realise that compared to most yonex racquets the shaft serial on mine has one more digit than supposed to. does that automatically mean its fake? Also the racket is fairly used and was obtained at a warehouse sale in japan according to the seller, so hence the price. I'd really appreciate some help. thanks:)

Can't believe I've bought a racket that I can't find on the web !!!!
I'm back into the sport after 15 yrs, knew about muscle power and armortec but when I went into JJB on a retail park out of curiosity on the way to a customers I just thought it was an number system pre mp23 mp45 mp99 etc and I'd check online before using it !!!
Like I stated I've used it, very happy and its a very good all rounder with what seems like legit serials etc, I'd just like to know more about it and make sure £40.00 has been spent wisely on this racket rather than something else !!

Of course. Obviously they are counterfeit. Too counterfeit!
Do you understand how to read the date codes? Look at the second and third racket, it's pretty much self explanatory.
Also, do you know how much the genuine rackets sell for?

Why dont you send the codes to Yonex, Japan & get it verified; that way, it is really official!!!!

If you have nothing useful to say, why saying anything at all?
I posted serial, got a simple replying "fake" with the smiley icon that I wasn't even sure if he was mocking me or joking. I posted a reply asking for confirmation. Right after I got 2 posts bashing my question as I am too stupid not to see the obvious.
Well, I wasn't skeptical when buying the racket, what's wrong with being skeptical asking the question for 2nd time? At least I've learned something right?

If you want to read through the posts and archieves, you will see why we will respond like that. You and just like others, do not do enough research and post. If you actually shown some evidence that you actually had read and researched some of this information, you would see a different response.

I really don't want to make a personal debate in the public forum, and I don't have that kind of time anyway, so thank you for all of your helping help and fun mocking new member.
To Malayali: Yes I read your post, it seems that you're tweaking "official" word for fun. If I really want official reply from Yonex, why would I come here? Asking someone who can check Yonex serial numbers like Mr. Leehism isn't "official" enough? Re-read your first post and tell me honestly you're sincere to help.
To Matt: Sorry I don't have time to read the archives, and sorry that I post my serials in "Post your serial thread." which is to you, obviously wrong so you have the right to make fun of people.
The feeling of "Oh I pay $xxx for a racket and this dude pay $xx so it's can't be true. Oops, what a relived, it's faked! I must make fun of this boy for his stupidity. If it's real I don't know if I can sleep through the night due to my jealously" Is that how you two thinking about people who buy faked rackets?
I trusted my friend and that's why I bought without hesitation, I think $170 is not expensive price to find out about a person that you trusted. Thanks for the great forum!

woah, chill folks.
anyways, there's no need to wait for an answer from leehsim, the reason the guys here are saying that it's obviously a fake is because the serials don't match up to what a genuine yonex serial would look like. you can read all about this in post #1 of this thread.
i would say that if you could return the racquets, then do so. your friend has scammed you and i would also advise you to put a little less trust in him/her in the future.
Don't take it literally but we just type like that to tell you it's counterfeit.
Assuming you read the first post and understood the date/code format, you would of noticed the date code for the 3rd racket does not make sense. For the second racket, NS8K, was not made/introduced year 2000 as it was introduced years later.
Also if you read this thread below. It's not directly related but it also gives you an indicator of price. This is also applicable to other products besides badminton unless verified otherwise.

Hi, this one is probably fake:
racket model: Yonex Ti-10
shaft serial: 4959159
cone code : 020656CH
source : small shop in JiaYuGuan, Gansu, PR China
price: US$50
For the serial no. of 4959159, the valid date code should be between 31 May 2004 and 2 June 2004.
For the date code of 020656CH (date=2 Jun 2005), the valid serial no. should after 5578100.
IMHO, the Yonex Ti-10 of shaft serial: 4959159 cone code : 020656CH is a fake.

Looks very real, except reflective sticker is not what I expected.
Can someone measure length of a real thing - mine is 767mm(26-5/8).
Thank you!
sumai is legit.

There are pictures around the forum. Can you provide with yours.
It's most likely counterfeit because he was mainly sold identical rackets for the same starting price. Also, he has a negative rating for counterfeit shuttles.
