The pictures of the NS9K in the auction instantly give it away.
- If you know what the genuine racket looks like, you can easily tell the counterfeit within a blink of an eye. In this case, the text style on the cone is incorrect. Also the color looks odd.

About the serial, it's off because the serial number is too low.

I am an experienced stringer and could not believe my eyes.
On closer examination I have reason to suspect it may be a fake.

1.It does not have a Yonex hologram sticker on the cone.
2.The Yonex name on both sides of the cone is just a sticky label & not transfer printed.
3.The padded case has 1 side printed upside down as compared to a typical Yonex case.

Unfortunately I have not been able to find out who the seller was as yet, only that it was from Ebay and only cost between £30 & £40 in the UK, about 1/3rd of the Yonex retail price.

It's Nano!!, not "Neno". If there is a "Neno", fake!!

First off, you need to know what the genuine one looks like to get an idea what features it should have. Generally after knowing this, these features would apply to other Yonex racket models as well because they would have similar characteristics.

In terms of finding a counterfeits, counterfeits have inconsitancies on these features which you would find on genuines. This could be color, grommets, font style an so on.

Yeah counterfeits are just knock offs. The rackets cosmetically on the outside look like the genuine article but on the inside, no way! They could be made from materials such as aluminum or steel for instance. There are some at least so called good quality fakes which are graphite. The reliability and quality control is unknown for these. The price they sell is cheap such that customers who think they are getting the genuine racket, in reality are walking off with something that looks like it.

I restrung this racket tonight at a tension of only 22lbs on my 6 point machine, just before completing the crosses the frame cracked at 8 o'clock.
I am an experienced stringer and could not believe my eyes.
On closer examination I have reason to suspect it may be a fake.

1.It does not have a Yonex hologram sticker on the cone.
2.The Yonex name on both sides of the cone is just a sticky label & not transfer printed.
3.The padded case has 1 side printed upside down as compared to a typical Yonex case.

Unfortunately I have not been able to find out who the seller was as yet, only that it was from Ebay and only cost between £30 & £40 in the UK, about 1/3rd of the Yonex retail price.

Leehsim, could you please check the serial no. etc for me please, the date code seems incorrect !

Sorry did not realize that you did not check serial nos. & date codes of Yonex Rackets purchased on EBay ? I thought you checked all codes to determine if they were genuine Yonex rackets or not.
Whilst I know that there are many fake Yonex rackets on Ebay I did not assume that all sold there were fake.

My apologies, I just wanted assistance and proof that the racket was indeed fake as it had cracked very easily under low tension and had it been a genuine Yonex racket then I would have felt obliged to have replaced this.
