Yes both rackets have the same serial # and cone code. E-mail address for both sellers was a hotmail address - xiaoying_510, and the persons name was quan zhou.
Both rackets location was listed in the U.S. but different states. However both rackets came out of QINHUANGDAO, China.

Cone code says the rackets will be made on Dec. 21, 2007 and the prices are waay to cheap for nanospeeds. counterfeit. also, 665xxxx is a fairly common counterfeit serial number.

i think it's safe to say that rackets sold in BC are legit since selling of fakes is prohibited. also, BSO is legit.
selling of fakes is also prohibited on ebay but people still do it. so it is not safe enough to say "rackets sold in BC are legit"

you are right that it is also prohibited in ebay, but how many people report it and how OFTEN does ebay take action against it?
selling in badmintoncentral is a safe bet because if you TRY to sell fakes, you will not get away with it. all the facts will be present (pictures, serial numbers etc), and BC is moderated much more actively than ebay. even regular members will make the call if they see somethign wrong. you will not fool anyone here.

Thanks Matt for the speedy reply! My suspicions got aroused by the strange font used for the letter "x" in the photo I am going to try to attach to this post. They looked like "h" to me, but my camera has better eyesight than me.http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h138/mrdolt2u/yonexbadbad.jpg
Ouch, the paint job is like odd too. If you look at the Yonex logo the font is off as well.

I don't doubt it Matt. But I don't see many badminton racquets so for me anyway spotting fakes is not so easy. I mostly string tennis racquets. I have strung a couple Babolat fakes. With a tennis racquet, in addition to visual clues, there are some really noticeable deviations from specifications. For instance, the flex test and stringbed stiffness readings will tend to be low and the overall weight can be wildly off the mark.
This badminton racquet strung up quite well. String bed stiffness readings were actually very good. Overall weight not bad either. The only tell from what I can see is that the racquet is about an inch headlight.
If you go on Ebay, you will find a ton of fakes, that will give you an idea how recognition them. On the other hand since you do string mostly genuine Yonex I believe, that will further give you recognition by know what common features the real one has.

I can make a picture of it tomorrow, what pictures is needed? Of the Shaft? And at what place do I put it, what tread?
Thx!
You can put the pictures here as well. Use the camera's flash and macro mode if you can.
For pictures, take one of the cone area where you can see the Yonex logo, and one with both the date/serial code visible.
Thanks

This has been an ongoing issue. I tried to bring it up earlier but it just got fizzled out. The main purpose of this verification is to help people & not show that "we know better than you that this racket is a fake". When and if the serails dont match or YY logos look fishy or whatever, it would be really helpful for the people posting here to understand why it is fake, if the reason is also attached to it.
What I suggesting here is to make it a point to prove your point either way, it would be helpful for the posters!!!!!:)

After doing it so many times, members are getting tired repeating the same thing because it mostly the same typical issues. It is time for them to look it up since we will simply answer them as we have done our time.
Have anyone noticed not as many members are jumping in and responding to this thread compared to the past?
Hi Matt,
Can you please tell me why? I thought i've checked everything.
The Yonex text style is incorrect and the grommets is incorrect. Both of these is an instant giveaway.
The serial/date code font is fishy as well.
There can be verified by comparing this to the genuine racket.

Here's my genuine pics for reference http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44443&highlight=ns9k
Eck, I still can't see why your racquet is counterfeit. The serial font is the same as mine, the J on the Japan on the green buttcap is genuine, logos all look fine to me, stock wrapping and paper sticker looks genuine as well. The two middle bottom grommets flaring out could be from an improper string job, but otherwise, even the top grommets match my pictures. I don't have the ultimate list of serials, but just from my personal inspection, I'd have to side with that it's real~ dinkalot's 3 ns9k's are all genuine and it proves that there's some minor variation in the nano's. Where did your aunt buy it from and how much? Can you take 2 very good pictures of your serial + cone #'s again as well as the grip sizing on the other side?
Sidenote: Matt's very experienced with counterfeits and I get all my racquets confirmed by him! I could be very very wrong~!
Optiblue,
There were additoinal details but they were mentioned offline.
Money's racket has 'Nano Technology" on the side when it should of been "Nanoscience". The second is the recommended tension is incorrect on the sticker. 240462CH is one of the common counterfeit codes which have been brought up in the forums in the past. Also on the T-joint, the grommets is not correct in the genuine one. Can be confirmed with your pictures.

Think for check this ,think you!!!
Yonex launched Nanospeed S or X in early Jan 2006 starting the serial no. of 5894000 onwards.
The serial no. of 5334032 didi not match with the date code of 250768SP (date=25 Jul 2006). For the date code of 250768SP (date=25 Jul 2006), the serial no should be close to 6313400.

I don't think Wing from SE Sports would sell fake racquets~ sometimes he has CP coded yonex racquets too! Although I wonder why yours is china coded... did you get it off the wall or from his secret stash?

A CH racket is not worth 200 dollars. You got ripped off from an authorized dealer who is not suppose to sell other coded rackets.

never heard of re-conditioned used racket.
1. touch-up any dents or chips by using car-party?
2. respray/repaint the racket back to original colour code?
3. regrip the original grip?
dont go to e-bay, just buy yonex rackets at reputable shops......:)

Seems like a counterfeit because in 2006, the serial should already be in the 6 Mil + range. The other question is, was MP77 still being produced?

It is counterfeit because the serial is incorrect. This is futher supported by Dreamzz because the MP77 was discontinued a long time ago.

For the cone code of 040363SP (Date= 04 Mar 2006), the valid shaft serial should be close to 6015000.
For the shaft serial no. of 5976910, the valid cone code should be close to 15 Feb 2006.
IMHO, the Nanospeed 9000 S shaft serial of 5976910 and cone code of 040363SP is a fake.
