Hi, is it possible for a shaft serial and cone code to be real but the actual racket is fake?
Valid shaft serial and cone code is the one of the steps towards verifying a genuine Yonex racket.
It is possible for a fake racket to have valid shaft serial and cone code but not vice versa.

Many thanks for replying. Then how to detect a fake racket as soon as I see one, for example on a nanospeed 9000x. If they look exactly the same, is there any other way to detect its fake, any parts to take note of? I got a nanospeed 9000x pic that my friend sent me. Thanks for yr help once again

avernus,

All the pictures you provided are counterfeit NS9Ks. Just to note counterfeits do not look exactly the same . Here is why - if you know what the genuine one looks like, you can determine if a racket if genuine or counterfeit in an instant after a quick scan.

This is actually my first racket which I bought back in 2005. It looks genuine to me :-), and the store I bought it from was a decent one.I need you to check and confirm your Carnonex 6 in order to solve the mystery:-

Wouldn't it be more useful for potential buyers to know if rackets are definitely fake before they buy them? Kinda a moot point after the fact? I'm new on this forum so I need some education on this matter. Ebay seems to be ignoring the huge problem of all kinds of fake products being sold on their site.

For the inquires, the post should of been written in the correct thread which demolidor pointed out. For owners who own rackets, it goes here.

As for shopping on Ebay, it is best to research this information as it is here on the forum which can give you the advise. However if you are not confident enough to shop on Ebay to to obtain a genuine racket, then it is recommended that you shop at a Yonex Authorized dealer.

Thanks for confirming it. :)

Well, it came with its own cover, a large and splendid Yonex racquet bag, 2 sets of BG-66 strings, a Titanium overgrip, and stringing and delivery within the hour :D
I also bought a good amount of sports-wear and a back-brace, in all worth another USD 140. On this, they gave me a large discount which kind of evens up things.

Now that I see the prices paid by our other members, I do see that I paid a lot more. :o (Or rather, my wife did!)
But, after trying out the ARC7 today, I have no complaints :p

I know this seller has a good reputation and I believe this racket is real...but it never hurts to get it confirmed! So here:
---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8----
racket model: Yonex Armortec 900 Power
shaft serial: 7026639
cone code : 180772TH
source : sumai03

Also, is it possible that a person who makes fake rackets can look at this thread and steal the serial and other numbers to make his rackets look legitimate?

some fake rackets can be identified via their serial numbers. if you wonder if your racket is a fake, post them here so we can verify them for you. the format of the serial number is:

1234567 311226XX

in additional to the serial number, you need to tell us:

FROM WHOM DID YOU BUY THE RACKET FROM?

that usually tells us if it is genuine or not.

here is the template. cut and paste it into your post and fill in the details. every line are mandatory. whomever do not follow the following template will have their posts deleted:

---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8----
racket model: Yonex XXXX XXXX
shaft serial: 1234567
cone code : 123456AB
source : shop name, location / ebay seller id (must include). be very specific here.
price : US$???
---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8----

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THE ABOVE INFORMATION.

read this article to understand what the serial number mean:

However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the racket carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain its total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.

racket model: Yonex Nanospeed 8000 3UG4
shaft serial: 7056441
cone code : 010873SP
source : some shop in Hong Kong my cousins pointed me to
price : US$140 or so (HK$1100)

The thing that worries me is that the color is different from what I've seen online. The shop owner told me that it's a new 2008 color but the only mention of a 2008 model of a Nanospeed 8000 is from http://www.badminton.net/cart/product_info.php?products_id=594&osCsid=b6

I made a thread with pictures here: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=758651#post758651

Thanks a bunch, especially getting back to me so quickly!

By the way, I was wondering how you know about all this stuff. You don't have to tell me if you really don't want to, but I'm a bit intrigued, haha.

Thanks again anyways.

Hi there i am currently interested in buying a nanospeed 9000x but i'm not sure if the racket is fake or real, i would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me if it was real or not.

it says: "I am aware that there are concerns about 'fakes' being sold on ebay but as far as i can say this is a genuine Yonex item. Code on shaft 5333474 Code on handle 201260JP."

However i'm not sure if this is true, any help would be fantastic.

I'm not 100% sure, but 5333474 as a serial looks fake to me. As a comparison : there's another racket selling on ebay which has this serial : Shaft serial: 6522797 Cone code: 151162SP,

This racket was made on 15/11/06, your has been made on 20/12/06, which is even later, so the serial must be a larger/higher nr...

I think the engineers counterfeiting doing good work and therefore I send the following message to my seller.

"Hello, some people have confirmed to me (in view of the serial number) that your racquet is a counterfit. It is not a problem because I find very good feelings with your racquet. But I would like to know what aspect in your version differs from the original. (Same materials, more flexible or otherwise). Thanks"

No offense, but I don't see the logic here. If they have confidence in their work and quality control, why they need to illegally copy another company's brand name? This is purely a crime to begin with. :(

Also, if they can lie about their brand, do you have full confidence about whatever their reply to you, regarding their spec, quality, etc???

tlaudio

What incredible is to be able to create a complete fake factory. Either plant counterfeiting is a "subcontractor" yonex (and in this case the quality of the racket should really get close to the original), or it's a fake plant. But I find it difficult to understand. How to create a counterfeit of this quality without a minimum competent person behind, and also to find materials (graphite ... the weight of my racket is 87g, like the original). I find it difficult to understand

Also, if they can lie about their brand, do you have full confidence about whatever their reply to you, regarding their spec, quality, etc???

It might be interesting to have an answer.

I believe a few of us had a chat with you about this already.

Also, shopping inquires do not belong in this forum as mentioned before.

is this genuine?

racket model: Yonex nanospeed 7700
shaft serial: 6562562
cone code : 081262cd
source : sportschek, downtown vancouver (pacific center mall)
price : CAD$ 188

some fake rackets can be identified via their serial numbers. if you wonder if your racket is a fake, post them here so we can verify them for you. the format of the serial number is:

1234567 311226XX

in additional to the serial number, you need to tell us:

FROM WHOM DID YOU BUY THE RACKET FROM?

that usually tells us if it is genuine or not.

here is the template. cut and paste it into your post and fill in the details. every line are mandatory. whomever do not follow the following template will have their posts deleted:

---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8----
racket model: Yonex XXXX XXXX
shaft serial: 1234567
cone code : 123456AB
source : shop name, location / ebay seller id (must include). be very specific here.
price : US$???
---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8----

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THE ABOVE INFORMATION.

read this article to understand what the serial number mean:

I posted my racquet's serial number on this forum about 8 months ago. My racquets were stolen and I want to get the serial numbers. But my post was erased for some reason. Is there anyway you can bring my post back so I can get my serial numbers please?

Thank you.

The 3rd racket Yonex Nanospeed 9000 Type X of Shaft Serial No: 3716521 and Cone Code: 272031SP is a fake for its nonsensical date code.

tks.

I have checked in the information of your Yonex ARCSABER 7 shaft Serial:7137927; Cone Date Code:140972SP (date=14 Sep 2007) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, its serial no. and date code are legitimate.

However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the racket carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain its total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.

It might be real! However, I can not tell if it is without you purchase the racquet and post the actual ser# and cone code (may be some pictures). So just buy it and let us know the info or post it in the right place and we can try to help...
