View Full Version : grip.. what do you look for?
what do you look for in a grip? tackiness? comfort? sweat absorption?
i recently started using a grip made by Alpha. it has a sweat absorbing material. the grip is the thin type. the surface is not shiny like the leather-ish grip, but it is more like a dense foam type. the feel is excellent. the absorption is only marginally better, but that's better than none.

I just use Yonex Super Grap. At first I use to use Wilson and Head overgrips since I use them for tennis which are not too tacky and have textures and ridges which keep my hand on the grip. I found that these grips didn't suit me as well as in badminton because they weren't as sweat absorbing as Yonex Grips and I don't really need the texture. I don't find Yonex grips to last as long as other grips (2-3 playing days, 2-3 hours each day). They do absorb a lot of sweat which is probably the cause of them wearing out too fast. On really sweaty days I have to take out some rosin and put it on my hands and grip.
i really like the Gosen Grips. Either the ones with the air holes, or just the regular ones. Both absorb sweat well, and last a long time. Right now im trying the Yonex Super Grap. Its white, so after a little it tends to get brown

I am also searching for grips...
I would go for comfort above all. My hands don't sweat that much so i don't really need sweat absobtion that much. I don't really care about the color....as long as it matches my racquet...

i like the grip that aaron has!
the one that comes with the Ti10....its not exactly tacky, but its a rubber texture and i like it.
but i also like foamish grips....the material that most sweat absorbing overgrips that are made of.
