my friend told me cctv 5 will broadcast all the tc and uc games, but the games collide with ping pong (table tennis) world championship, i think they will tend broadcast the ping pong first, except for tc/uc semis and finals

In Europe ... only SKY SPORT I think. Eurosport not broadcasting.

CCTV 5 & GDTV are going to broadcast the Thomas & Uber Cup 2006, but you have to ask mikemike.

He knows better :-)

Anyone knows this, please do inform us. Thanks

I can't see any listings past the 29th on the CCTV website (http://www.cctv.com/sports/schedule/01/index.shtml). Same thing for the GDTV website (http://www.gdtv.com.cn/newpage/sports/ttdb.asp).
I guess we'll have to be patient. These stations may not care about the early rounds so we may not know anything until they publish their schedule for next week. I don't see any 羽毛球 on those TV schedules for the first few days of the tournament. They may, of course, have made public their decisions on coverage but one of our Chinese-reading members would have to help us with that.

Lativi will broadcast both Thomas and Uber Cup 2006 starting 3rd May-06. You may look once again at tag-line on the upleft corner Lativi channel. There was written 'Thomas & Uber Cup - mulai 3 Mei 2006' since yesterday. Exactly, no live broadcast for KOR vs INA in group-stage match because Lativi's broadcast only from quarterfinal until final (07/05/06).

According time-table on the official website meaning Tokyo time is two hours ahead before Jakarta time (WIB). For example: Tokyo Time = 13.00 is equivalent 11.00 in Jakarta. You need to adjust time schedule only (-2 hours). I guess Lativi will broadcast all matches because they buy sport program normally in one package not separately although INA fail to step in final match. By the way, Lativi give INA's audience 'fresh-wind' among very rarely badminton's live coverage right now (except Indo Open next June).

Since last three years Indonesia Open still broadcasted by SCTV including this year (maybe there is some contract with sponsor) , but outside Indo Open SCTV never broadcasting major badminton event. Last year Indosiar broadcasted Sudirman Cup and World Champ' and Trans TV broadcasted 2 years ago TUC. I think Lativi proclaimed as Indo Badminton TV station since November-05.

thanks!I don't really understand tvants. I couldn't access the website yesterday either. I already had the installation file from before but the program was just showing me a news clip of 2 minutes in Chinese. Tvants had RTM's awful coverage of the ABC last month but we were lucky enough to get the finals on actual TV here so I didn't use it.

Go to PPLive.com to get their latest software. You will likely be able to test it ahead of time because CCTV is normally on there. Other people seem to use PPLive to get the basketball and soccer coverage so it doesn't turn off when there is no badminton.

California, PST is 16 hrs behind Tokyo. So the easy math is you subtract 4 hours from Japan time.(ie. 11am Tokyo time=7pm California, U.S.)..
btw, the first QF match will start in approximately 3 hrs from now..;)

Click links for downloading PPLive (http://www.pplive.com/en/index.shtml) and/or Sopcast (http://www.sopcast.org/channel/), then if using PPLive, go to their english translation page (http://www1.pplive.com/web/html/newenglish0.html)

Best to have the latest Windows Media Player, v10.0 or later.

If you are adware-phobe like many, I would go to click here (http://planet.nana.co.il/livetv/cctv5.asx) for a direct no-nonsense cctv5 watching experience. IF more adventurous, then click this stream (http://www.654123.com/asx/www654123com.asx) if you have your firewall port(s) disabled.

Do remember though if watching via Tvants or PPLive or Sopcast, these being peer-to-peer channels, the more the better. Go internet.

Looks like CCTV5 is getting primed now, I just saw the shuttle land on the line!

If you already have Sopcast running, then if you click again on any of the channels., then this is precisely the link you are expected to get, since 127.0.0.1 is your local machine, ahem, your computer. As long as you are in sopcast mode and have windows media player playing, you are set to watch.
