There were some active discussion on Forza racquets with some critical comments on Yonex.

Do I see a hint of a Yonex backlash?
And is 'badmintoncentral' going to be the starting point?

Forza had better start distributing racquets to Kwun quickly if they still want the momnetum to continue.

It sounds like a revolution!!!

My hypothesis is that the views of the people here largely correspond to the views of badminton fans in the "real world". In other words, the negative opinons on Yonex expressed here can be found outside BadmintonCentral too... Which is why I actually think that there could be room for runner-ups. Maybe it will be Forza, who knows? A lot of the Danish pros seem to find their products agreeable, if that's anything to go by...

I hope yonex is put out of Business in north america.

I hope Brands such as Forza learn a lesson and act smart and provide the biggest nation in terms of purchasing power with what they want.

It s a disgrace to know that a capitalist economy like The US is controlled by just one player namely YONEX.

I hope prices of rackets should come down to the asian level and clones of yonex be promoted.

Winex does a great job with respect to that.

Should see brands like victor and forza and yang yang make their mark in US.

The only advantage is that YONEX has a enviable variety.

But lot of diff manufacturers can quell that.

i still think yonex is better because they are the ones with technologies and designs, other companies like winnex, hi-qua, fleet....etc. just make clones from the yonex rackets so if yonex falls out of business then who are those small companies gonna copy their rackets from? itz just that i think yonex sell their rackets for too much, just lower them by like 10% and i think they will be betta off

I agree with Harry....yonex did come out with all those designs...but then again, other companies ie)carlton, forza, fischer, yang yang etc.
make their own designs and own racquets. They have good quality as well and dont sell of freaking high prices like yonex does.
I was talking to the racquet doctor one day, he said it costs roughly 12-18 dollars to make a normal racquet! and 22 dollars to make an mp100(canadian dollars). Then yonex goes to retailers and sells the mp100 for like 200. Basically, the retailers themselves are forced to bring the prices up because yonex sells it to them for 10 times more! yonex then uses that money for R and D and sponsorship....its really not fair...10 times more expensive...then the retialer has to bring it up even more to make a living!

Well, you gotta understand that they have to sponser people and you know Yonex is good for their research and development team. But as for using only $10-$12 just to make the racket is unbelievable.

REVOLUTION!!! *CROWDS CHANTING*
FORZA!!! FORZA!!! FORZA!!!
Seriously, the badminton world is in need of change... many junior talents, all the way to the national team players are switching to Forza brands... the goals are to promote grass roots play, and infect many people with positive spirits about this sport.
Forza is for promotion of badminton, and also to give players alternative to the high prices of companies such as Yonex, and give similar if not higher quality products with better pricing.
Once people see success of players using Forza brand, they will become more interested, and thus begin to break through the grip hold Yonex has on the badminton market.
It's more just about promotion of the sport, but along the way, you might as well support a company that's just beginning to bust out on it's own.
FORZA!!! FORZA!!! FORZA!!!

It doesn't take much to make a badminton racquet.

think about it people. Yonex is in the spotlight, thats why their racket prices are so high! People want them, and they will pay for them. Yonex knows that, so they release rackets around 100.00 knowing most people will buy it. There just trying to make a profit like every company.

True, true.

If Yonex get the wind of this, do you think they'll try to buy out Kwun?

Remember, they do have to recoup their research and development costs which can be quite heavy, plus other thing like sponsorship and advertising, they need to make profits in order to stay afloat, plus there are delivery costs involved.
