View Full Version : TI-10 QUESTIONS...

I have a question for all the players that currently own, and play with Yonex Ti-10 racquets...

Is your's 2U, or 3U?
What size is your grip?
How tight do you string your racquet?
How much do you clash racquets with a doubles partner??
How much do you mishit the shuttle, and hit your frame instead of the sweetspot??
Have you broken one of these racquets yet?
If so, answer the above questions for the broken one as well.

I'm asking this question to sort out the real answer behind people breaking their racquet...
I've found that people who are using the 2U, version on average broken more of their Ti10s, through clashes, hitting the frame with the shuttle, and generally don't take very good care of their equipment.
I also ask these questions before I invest my money into buying 2 Ti10 CN racquets.

My Ti10 racquet is 3U-G4, strung at 25lbs right now, I don't clash my racquets, if at all. I hardly ever mishit the shuttle, and hardly ever hit the bird with the frame. I have not broken this racquet as of yet.
Mine is roughly 9months old now, and still going strong.
Thanks for helping me sort out this durability problem with the Ti10s.
Much appreciated. :)

I have 3 Ti 10s. One strung at 22 lbs, another at 27 lbs and another at 30 lbs. They are all 3U with G5 grips. I rarely clash racquets with my partner and if I do, I have enough control to slow the racquet down to minimize impact. I maybe mishit the bird 5% of the time. I've broken one ti-10 on a smash, the shaft bent 60 degrees backwards. The broken racquet was strung at 27 lbs.

I've seen a ti-10 at 35 lbs... the racquet can supposedly take up to 40 lbs according to some national team players in town.

-3U
-G4
-24lbs
-since i have to teach JV how to play i get into about 1or 2 racket clash a week
-i mishit on smashes about once a day, i play 6 days a week. mishits usually occur on the very top of the racket.
-nope mine is still over a year old.

Geez, u must have a powerful smash. Was that shaft got nicked before that may cause the final failure?

I had only used the racquet for singles and for a span of 2 weeks. I do have a fast swing, but that's only because I took up squash and my swings have been picking up more speeed day by day. Someone actually said they can see my ti-10 flex back when I go for a smash. I'd like to get some images of that and I'll post it if possible. Not nicks on the racquet, yonex Canada inspected it and gave me a new racquet.

Yeah Don,
You sound like you have a faster swing than Bryan Moody, and that guy has one of the hardest smashes on our National team.
I've watched his form and I wasn't even able to follow his arm on the instant before he makes his strike.. probably cause I was at an awkward angle, but still...
You might have the hardest smash/fastest swing speed in Canada by the sound of it.
*Time to bring out the radar guns! :) *
