View Full Version : MP77
harry 05-10-2001, 07:35 PM is the MP77 really that much different from the MP100? i only know that the MP100 is slightly stiffer and with ti mesh, titanium mesh makes the frame from stable when hitting rite? wat play style does the MP77 goes with best?
does anyone know where i can get the MP77 for a good price? (at toronto Canada would be nice) Ricky, how much is MP77 in HK?
wat strings are good with the MP77? i heard before that the titanium on yonex strings makes them slippery, is that true?
shaun 05-10-2001, 09:26 PM harry, u alrady know this but its 190 at lees haha!
ti doesnt make it slipperier i think....but the bg68ti is slippery for some reason...i forgot why but many ppl were complaining about it
Byro-Nenium 05-11-2001, 03:20 AM I think it was Kwun who was saying something about the BG-68 Ti being slippery. Anyway, the only Ti string i use is the BG-65 Ti.
Does the MP77 have Ti mesh? i saw it briefly the other day but didn't notice any of the small details.
No, I don't think it has ti. mesh, it's made of carbon.
actually. it does. i was swing the MP77 around at home, and i chipped off some paint accidentally. to my surprise, i saw a mesh underneath the paint..
BaMBaM 05-11-2001, 07:28 PM Its actually carbon graphite with ultimum titanium (nickel and titatium) layers on top.
harry 05-11-2001, 09:33 PM i didn't mean that there is titanium mesh on teh mp77 frame, i was only addressed to the ability titanium mesh on ti frame rackets. but itz quite surprising to know that the mp77 really does have ti mesh on rim cos that makes it even more same compare to the mp100
BaMBaM 05-11-2001, 09:47 PM Its not ti-mesh, its an actual coating of ultimum over the carbon on the frame
shaun 05-11-2001, 10:02 PM the mp77 doesnt have a ti mesh, thats wot bambam was saying, it was actually the ultimum coating...
what's the difference? it is also in a mesh shape.
not really. the material alone don't define a racket. the MP100 and MP77 have very different balance and design. the MP77 has a larger head and shorter shaft while the MP100 has a small head and longer shaft. the grip of the MP100 is longer than the MP77. etc. etc.
they feel completely different.
BaMBaM 05-11-2001, 10:46 PM It is braided to look like that.
shaun 05-12-2001, 04:33 PM ewwww after hearing that, i might like the mp77 better...oh well "] which is more head heavy?
MP100 is head heavier.
and the quest continues.... :)
harry 05-12-2001, 05:51 PM ok! i neva said that there's ti-mesh on the MP77 i was just asking how the ti-mesh works and isn't the ultimum only on the shaft? how is it on the frame too?
harry 05-12-2001, 05:53 PM ....actually, both of the mps has a long shaft but i dunno about the big and small head
true, they are both long rackets. the difference being:
mp77 is long because the head is longer. the shaft and handle are the same length
mp100 is long because the shaft and handle are longer, the head is the same length.
Kelvin 05-13-2001, 08:54 AM Shaun, just get a custom ordered smaller grip if you want your racquet to be head heavy.
That's the ultimate solution, to get your ultimate heavy racquet... your other alternative is spend $4, and get an all steel racquet... lmao.
What is the advantage of those seven humps, of each side, of MP 77 ? Look closly, it can be taken off and it will be the same as
the other part of the frame.
Kelvin 05-13-2001, 08:56 AM Good point, I'll keep an eye out for this.............
they look damn good.
the only other reason i can think of is that they are bigger bumps which will route the string in a smoother fashion. not sure how much of a difference that makes. i am not even sure whether the arched routing of the string in MP rackets makes a difference at all.
harry 05-13-2001, 08:35 PM so the mp77 has a bigger hitting area than the mp100? wat are the balances on the two rackets?
