The Kitchener-Waterloo Badminton Club is proud to host the first K-W Pointfore Invitational badminton tournament! The Kitchener-Waterloo Badminton Club is proud to host the first K-W Pointfore Invitational badminton tournament! This is an open tournament for everyone and it is guaranteed to be filled with friends, food and fun!

We invite you all to come participate in this doubles (men and women) and mixed doubles tournament. Just for entering the tournament, you will have a chance to win door prizes from our wonderful sponsors:

EVENT DETAILS:

Date: Saturday, June 10, 2006
Location: K-W Badminton Club (69 Agnes Street, Waterloo, Ontario)

Registration and Warm-up: 8:30am
Men’s Doubles: 9:00am
Ladies’ Doubles: 10:00am
Mixed Doubles: 3:00pm

Draw Format: Minimum 3 Games Each Team

Cost: $20 for one Event, $30 for two Events
Lunch and Snacks: Will Be Provided!
Shuttles: Nylon Shuttles Will Be Provided!
(Option of using Feather Shuttles at the discretion of both teams)
Prizes: LOTS of prizes from our sponsors!

REGISTRATION BEGINS: Immediately!
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Saturday, June 3, 2006

Just as an update, there are only TWO weeks left to register for this invitational! We have close to 70 registrants thus far and there is still space in all three events!

We've got people from all age groups (high school to masters) and people coming from Cambridge, Mississauga, Toronto, Sudbury and even as far as San Diego!

Great food, friendly atmosphere and awesome draw prizes (Yay kitchen knife set!!). In general, a well organized tournament.

It was a great tournament. Lotsa people there that I don't see on the competitive circuit.

There were great prizes (although I didn't win any of the draw prizes) and it was worth the 5 1/2 hr drive down. Our small contingent of Sudbury players (5) had a great time.

Organizers did a great job to try to finish the events on time and I didn't hear any complaints about being limited to either 1 game to 15 or 1 game to 21 in the early rounds.

I hope the event raised as much as money as hoped and good luck with the renovations. Can't wait to see it all in the new season.
