The Proton Malaysia Open 2006 one of the world's greatest and prestigious badminton, will be held at State Indoor Stadium in Kuching, Sarawak from 13th to 18th June. This IBF sanctioned grand prix events carries the a total of US$125 000 prize money with 4-star rating.
This full 5-events tournament (men's & women's singles & doubles, and mixed doubles) will be officiated by Isabelle Jobard of France as the referee and will be assisted by a local, Chua Soo Hock.

Notice:
1. All events will be run on a strict timetable system.
2. Competitors must be ready to play thirty minutes before their scheduled time.
3. Players not ready to play at the scheduled time will be disqualified.
4. Alterations to competition schedule due to Television coverage is possible and will be announced by the Referee.

9. Scoring System: Rally Point System: 3 x 21 points
10. Competition Rules & Regulations:
The Championships will be run in accordance with the IBF Grand Prix Competition Regulations.
11. SEEDINGS and DRAW will be conducted by IBF.
12. Withdrawals by players will be handled under the provisions for the World G.P. Regulations – PENALTY FOR WITHDRAWAL.
13. Doping control: Dope testing will be conducted at random throughout the tournament.

Reservations: All room reservations must be submitted not later than 26th May 2006 to the BAM on the prescribed form, together with the rooming list. Reservation received after 26th May 2006 will be considered subject to room availability and may be offered at different prices.
16. Transportation: Airport transfer will be provided from Kuching International Airport to the Crowne Plaza Kuching Hotel upon request. Request must be sent to BAM not later than 2nd June 2006 for pick-up arrangement.
Ground transportation to and from the venue will only be provided to participants staying at the official hotel.
17. Practice Sessions for players can be arranged upon request and will be held at the following venues:
