So you're starting uni as a freshman? Good! What sort of 'orientation' will you be receiving? Anything out of the ordinary? The seniors here used to call us 'freshie' and make us do all sorts of things during the oreintation week. But they prefer to call it "ragging". :D

My friend, are you really serious or not? If you are, I will also think seriously about it. In your plans, don't forget to add Denmark (Aarhus ?) to your itinerary! Man, those pics that our lady posted were irresistible! Hope September will not be too cold for us Asians! :D

I probably would not be able to make 2 such trips, can't go away for that along. I am still finding out my plans for September. But at most I would have to choose only one.

It houses the works of Diego Velasquez, one of my favourite old masters and arugably the best ever in oil painting. :D

I personally think that going to Madrid and not visiting the Prado is like going to Paris and not visiting the Louvre (for the other paintings since I'm not a fan of Da Vinci and his crumbling Mona Lisa). :p

Haha, there is too many things to see in Louvre. I think Prado is the same. This kind of place I will only go once in my life. I am not those art people.

Anyway, does anyone know where is the nearest metro station to the stadium? The WC website didn't said how to get there. Thanks.

For yannie, IMO, i think you should go; main reason is your distance/location is not too far from Spain(eventhough not close either). Beside, unlike some of us, you are still in school, thus you have plenty of vacation time(although in September, most schools start already..)..And you can be the BC representative there and take some pics and share them with us..hehe;)
For the rest of you who are planning to go, i hope you guys can go also.
As for the winner of the recent TC/UC fantasy game *better* be going and not cancelling, hehe:p. Cos i believe 1st place gets a free paid-trip to the WC??..:p

Off topic:to EastDevil, since in one of your post you mentioned you "love cold weather", just curious, does that mean you've lived in a "cold-weather" country before??..

Weather during that time in WC is actually just starting to get cold.. may not be as cold as we think. Maybe average around 20-25 degC. But its better than this part of the world in Asia.

Maybe I can help up a little bit.

I had been to Barcelona and Madrid and both are nice places to step foot in during Christmas 2005. Even though it was December at that time, the weather was around 12 - 15 degrees. A jacket shall be enough.

Barcelona has a very beautiful beach and a awesome building called Sagrada. Personally, I think Barcelona is more interesting than Madrid.

As for accomodation, you can book it when you are there. Drop by at the tourist information center and ask for one. Normally, you'll get a very decent price. Last time, I got a nice hotel in the city center for just 20 euro per night. Worse comes to worse, you can also you Youth Hostel.

Travelling in Spain is easy with the help of underground tube. However, language might be a problem. Spanish dont speak English.

Spain is worth the visit!!!:)

I'm thinking of going for at least some of it provided I can get a cheap flight (sometimes Ryanair do cheap flights from England to certain places within the EU for between £1 - £10 :D :D ).

I spend around 70 pounds for flight, flying from Luton. It depends on which date you leave and which date you want to come back.

In general I was disappointed with the small amount of people attenting, I guess it was expected because the event was in Madrid.
It was also a waste to buy good tickets, Zone A places were left empty, one could just "sneak" to other seats, no one cared.

Well, it will not be the same next year.

KL (or Bukit Jalil) will be bursting at the seams. There will be lightning and thunder in the stadium. You can expect the Malaysians to put up a very good show!

BC Singapore will have its own distinctive uniform so that our KL folks will recognize us without fail and we will all join together to cheer our heroes. Some of our Indonesian friends will join us too. Hopefully Indra and Taufik will be there too!

And not forgetting Georgina, who will escort and protect her Thai darlings. Of course Serla and maybe Yannie will be there to support her.
