Don't get Taufik Akbar Hidayat confused with our current World/Olympic Champion, Taufik Hidayat as they are two different players.

Yuan Kartika vs Pai Min Jie -- hicks...young Saina has to say bye-bye early...after being beaten by Yuan Kartika 21-17, 23-21. I believe she's exhausted after winning the Phil Open on Sunday afternoon, taking the flight to Surabaya on the same day and then play the qualification match on Monday. Pai Min Jie should advance.

Huang Chia-Hsin vs Gu Juan -- similarly, Chinese Taipei's no 2 singles should advance.

Aprilia Yuswandari vs Lee Hyun Jin -- again, the much favored Pia lost to another Indonesian in 3 close sets 21-18, 12-21, 20-22. Lee Hyun Jin will advance.
