Hmm, aren't they playing in 2 different locations??..the prelims were played in a smaller sport hall and the rest in a "bigger" sport hall..I was told that the hall which will be used for the last few days(SF and Finals) is also being used as a basketball stadium, where Surabaya's local basketball team plays...And i heard it's near Galaxy Mal in Kertajaya area(sorry, this is only for the local Surabaya people who knows the stadiums and area)..:rolleyes: ;)

Hi all,

the picture of the hall Yannie posted yesterday is Sudirman Hall. For the qualifications and 1st day of main draw, the matches were played in both CLS Hall (a basket ball hall) and Sudirman Hall. Most of the women matches were played in CLS Hall. Only some TV matches of mens single and double were played in CLS Hall.

today and all the way to the final all matches will be played at the CLS hall only. I will try to take more pics and send to Yannie to help me post.

Anyway, further to Yannie's posts, the little girl with Taufik is my daughter. She was so happy that Taufik agreed to take picture together.

I was at the stadium watching Lars and Thomas play against Sigit and Flandy. What a match! It went to 3 sets and everytime SIgit took off for those high jump smashes!!! With a bad knee and all he still jumped so high!!!!

I mentioned this to Thomas in my car on the way back to the hotel and he agreed. A legend is always a legend. And you know what, on the way out of the stadium Sigit still manage to stop to greet, tap Lars on the shoulder and said good bye to both Lars and Thomas!!! A true gentlemen and champion indeed....

yes, i heard from a source in Sby that the temperature was really hot, eventhough there was air conditioning inside the sport hall. I guess it wasn't strong enough to offset the high temperature degree...

Xie ZB was really friendly with Nova. They talked alot before their final game. They talked about their racquets etc. He is a true sportsman and gentlemen.

Zhang Ya Wen is a super woman. Since wednesday she had been playing 2 matches daily. So total she played 10 matches in both MXD and WD. Not to mention the practice sessions etc. She is very nice and smiled a lot. But I think on court she is very mature. She also attract not so much attention from the audience. Unlike Bao CL.

Bao CL was the most sought chinese player by the fans. As soon as he was in the building everyone started to chase him for autographs and pictures. So in order to warm up he had to go to another part of the stadium. But this was not successful as immediately they found him again and again. So at last the organiser had to assign 2 policemen to guard him and chase away the fans so Bao could warm up. His nightmare continues after each match as the fans chase him again. Overalll i think he matures a lot. The bad line calls during his match against Simon did not affect his concentration and emotion.

Tony and CHandra? Well what else to be said about them. Even Zhu Lin and her team mates had to rush and run for the opportunity to take pictures with the legends after their landmark comeback and winning their Indo Open title.

Taufik? He is also in a class of his own. He has the highest respects from most players. Man and woman alike. Lu Lan was watching the final at court side and shake her head a few time in amazement from Taufik's net shots and deceptive shots. Kenneth also said that everytime they play against each other they both always play 100%.

Good luck for all in SIN and MAS open!!!!!!!!!

Xie ZB was really friendly with Nova. They talked alot before their final game. They talked about their racquets etc. He is a true sportsman and gentlemen.

Zhang Ya Wen is a super woman. Since wednesday she had been playing 2 matches daily. So total she played 10 matches in both MXD and WD. Not to mention the practice sessions etc. She is very nice and smiled a lot. But I think on court she is very mature. She also attract not so much attention from the audience. Unlike Bao CL.

Bao CL was the most sought chinese player by the fans. As soon as he was in the building everyone started to chase him for autographs and pictures. So in order to warm up he had to go to another part of the stadium. But this was not successful as immediately they found him again and again. So at last the organiser had to assign 2 policemen to guard him and chase away the fans so Bao could warm up. His nightmare continues after each match as the fans chase him again. Overalll i think he matures a lot. The bad line calls during his match against Simon did not affect his concentration and emotion.

Tony and CHandra? Well what else to be said about them. Even Zhu Lin and her team mates had to rush and run for the opportunity to take pictures with the legends after their landmark comeback and winning their Indo Open title.

Taufik? He is also in a class of his own. He has the highest respects from most players. Man and woman alike. Lu Lan was watching the final at court side and shake her head a few time in amazement from Taufik's net shots and deceptive shots. Kenneth also said that everytime they play against each other they both always play 100%.
