All players....beware of Taufik Hidayat....He has returned from his slumber...
Although he was not fit 100%...he could demolish Bao...I can't imagine when he is 100% fit:D . I am very happy to see TH win and defeat Bao.....
I guess. he will repeat his success in SO....OK..If many think that TH success was due to the help of the line judge...let's prove it in the big 8 in SO.
If everything goes well, TH will meet again Bao in the big 8.
Watch out Lin Dan, PG, LCW, Bonsaak, Bao, Chen Hong, Chen Jin...who else?

I think you are exaggerating a little too much here. Taufik Hidyat played well but he did not demolished Bao Chunlai as the scores were close. Taufik Hidayat may have been injured a few months back but word has it too that Bao Chunlai is also suffering some injury.
Don't get me wrong; Taufik Hidayat is one of my favorite players while Bao isn't top on my list even though he [Bao] is a very solid player. But these bias comments from hard-core fanatics really annoy me.

Well, it depends on how you take the meaning of 'demolished'. I think to BCL he probably felt 'demolished'.;)
So the kancil has really outfoxed the harimau! Unfortunately I had no chance to witness the chase. :D
And the story will repeat itself in the SO, where the kancil is the defending champion and is dearly loved by many. Taufik-ist should take note! ;)

I don't know about you but demolished to me has always meant "destroyed." Perhaps I don't know other analogous meanings to the word "demolished" so maybe you can enlighten me.
Regarding to the comment about Bao feeling demolished, I think he was rather upset due to the umpire over-ruling the line judge's decision.

Tis OK --- I was feeling light-hearted today. Yes the line call was bad but he should not let it hurt his game. In any case, I felt Taufik was in control and would have won anyway. BCL would have to wait his turn.

Hi All,
Take Notes:
- If taufik gets back fit 100%, Lin Dan will be difficult to beat Taufik.
- Taufik got a lot talent to become the legendary badminton player (All shot completed: Net is better, Defensive is better, Offensive is better, and Single Strategy is very better).
- Taufik target now are World, All England, and Olimpic.
- Djarum Indonesia Open Man Single Final: Taufik meet BCL. My analysis: Taufik not 100% fit, and BCL 100% fit (not injury). BCP Injury last time but in indonesia open is totally/Full recovery. Taufik injury at his back...It is dangerous...Very Risky...by his good motivation to win the compatation.....
Can you please let me know who player can won if his injury? It is good mentality for taufik..
Lin Dan also injury now but he want to rest and try recovery and not join at same open compatation.....

Sure, he has to if he still wants to don Singapore colours and match his fiancee, Singapore's no.1 table tennis queen and highly ranked in the world.
But i'm afraid he still hasn't broken his psychological barrier and I think he still finds it hard to beat even Kendrick Lee. It will be a great achievement for him if he managed to beat KBH. :D

Ronald's day job is playing badminton.
I think the loser will be devastated. Both players aren't playing that well, and both players have pressure to beat the opponent, because the opponent is supposedly not playing well.

Given Ronald's experience on court,he has an edge over Kuan Beng Hong. But hope that Ronald's experience will give him an advantage over KBH in the 21 point system!

If you are not fully fit (not enough stamina), you would prefer the 21-point system. So, I think Ronald will prefer that.

I understand Taufik is the defending champion of Singapore Open(and i saw him played there last yr), but personally, i doubt he will win and defend his title this yr..Why??because recent history has shown that Taufik does not have what it takes to win *back-to-back* tourney, considering he was going all out in this yr's IO..Last yr the same thing, he won at SO but then he bailed out last minute from Malaysia Open(right after the SO)..
I will follow his progress though in this yr's SO, and he will probably meet BCL again in the QF; but i will be quite surprised if he even reach the Semis or Finals.. ;)

we shall see if that proves to be true in the upcoming World Championship in Spain, which Taufik already mentioned in the recent Thomas Cup which he said "If LinDan wants to defeat him, he should do so when he's 100% healthy, not when he's injured"...
- Taufik target now are World, All England, and Olimpic.
Err, Taufik is *already* a World(2005) and Olympic(2004) Champions. He just need the All-England title.. ;)

I agree with you on this.
Taufik Hidayat is a talented player but some of these fans make him like he's god and cannot be rivaled by other top world-class players. News is that he can be troubled by many top world-class players. Taufik may be better than most of his rivals overall but he isn't dominating like you hard-core fans make him out to be.
You know who are dominating? It is the Chinese women (singles & doubles) as they always come out on top and rarely ever get troubled by their opponents in the recent years yet you don't see their fans going around and worship them like they are gods and talk down on other players.
This is precisely my point; Taufik is not far from his opponents yet his fans constantly talk as if he's "larger than life" while on the other hand the real dominating force is the Chinese women yet the fans rarely ever idolize (vocally) them like you TH fans. Trust me you guys wouldn't like it if they start to do it too with the Chinese women and team (overall). It is okay to do it to some extent but too much like Indra and some others here is not too healthy. Sometime I get really annoyed by these comments and wishes he would lose to shut some of you up. But then again you guys will probably come up with excuses for his loss as you guys have done so in the past.
I am sorry but I am not trying to start a flaming war. I am just asking you guys to tone it down a little bit. You know what's funny Taufik is the talented one yet he's very modest (in my opinion) though the same cannot be said for some of his hard-core fans (the modesty stuff). I'm sure there are quite a few number of people who agree with my what I am saying.
Remember, some modesty wouldn't hurt.

Forgot to add that I am not only speaking to hard-core fans of TH but also to fans of other players such as Lin Dan, Peter Gade, Lee Choong-Wei, etc. It's good to idolize these players but don't go overboard and start talking down on other players.

Isn't it time to forget about all the silly rubbish that Taufik is not 100% fit and things like that? He can run, he can smash, so he is fit. Also, BCL seems to look very tired during the Indonesian Open so BCL is also not 100% fit. And guess what? Everybody never seems to be 100% fit anyway.
I am extremely sick and tired of all the BS about injured or not fit used as excuses. All players are who they are on the court irregardless of whatever kind of conditions. If they lose, they are not the better player and if they win, they are the better player.
I have never heard of any other player that have so much disillusional fans that spend all their time finding excuses for the player's performance. These fans will end up discrediting that player.

21-point system:
A wins 21 rallies. B wins 19 rallies. That's close. Score 21-19. That shows how close it is. There's no hiding it.
15-point system:
A wins 21 rallies. B wins 19 rallies. It could be only 2-0 for A. If A and B keeps doing this, it would be 15-0. It would not reflect that A had won over a hundred rallies or (even two hundred) and B only about 15 times less. It is a close game, but it's still 15-0.

I accept and agree the fact that people support their favourites strongly. But I think there should be fair assessment of even their favourite player(s)'s performance. Don't you think it will be very corny that if the player wins, he is back... and if he loses, he is injured (and whatever else)?

Maintaining focus is also a very vital skill of true champions. And the intensity of the game now makes sure that players do their best for every point right from the bell... or rather when the umpire says "play". :D

It's funny to see people claiming that if so and so is at his/her 100%, then he/she would have won.
If a player is at his/her so called "100%" only 5% or 10% of the time, then I think we should simply call it "110%", etc.
Personally, I think "100%" should refer to the normal (majority of the time) level at which a player can perform.

I agree more with what hcyong said. A game can be very close and competitive yet sometimes the scores don't reflect it.
The rally scoring is better IMO.
Also, people who are obsessed with other people, be it badminton players or anybody else, need to relax a little. :) Being a fan and a supporter of someone is great, but obsessing about them is not....

just take it easy man:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
To me, it is okay for fans to idolize a player that they really like and for whom they will give their everlasting support and defend till the end. These are the fans that add colour, entertainment and vibrancy to the event.
Also for those cheerleaders who support their respective teams. Please continue to do so if it makes your life a little happier at least for that moment. After all, this is entertainment and is supposed to be fun! So others should not feel overly offended.
But as with most things, don't go overboard to the extent of causing hurt, both physical and mental, to yourself and others. Fanatic soccer fans have been known to cause a lot of damage to both property and lives, many innocent ones including young children. Stampedes in stadiums resulting from rival gang fights, maybe initially sparked off by verbal insults, the throwing of missiles, etc, have been a bane to organisers and the police. Quite rightly, such trouble makers are banned from attending future events.
So there should be some restraint overall. Let the mind sober down a bit and then the senses will become clearer and respond to reason. Then less damage will result. :)

On paper, his drawing on top-half draw is very tough -- meet BCL in QF;against PG in SF and vs CH/KJ in finale. We can over-expect to him because we don't know his condition certainly (he is in top-perform or not).Basically, one success in IndoOpen last Sunday can't judge that he is comeback to beat any shuttlers!Everything is possible happen including with INA's bdm hero TH. If Taufik really Demolished B.CH, then the linesman didnt need to "help" him at all, and nt only during BCH match, but during Chen yu's match as well.
it's just one bad call in 21 scoring system :D, and it's argueable :D

I dont deny that Taufik has the skill to win the match, but the bad call was done when the match is at 19 all, it can go to both ways.
