Dear All

Eligible players for the 2006 World Championships

Please find attached a spreadsheet which shows the players and pairs that are eligible to take part in the World Championships which takes place from 18-24 September 2006 at Madrid, Spain. This spreadsheet can also be viewed on the IBF web-site: www.internationalbadminton.org

Each event can be found under the different tabs on the attachment.

The World Championships regulations state:

Players/pairs ranked one to eight

3.2.3 Players/pairs ranked one to eight in the IBF ranking list for each event will be considered in turn and are eligible to enter unless a total of four players/pairs from any one Member Association would thereby be exceeded in that event.

A Member Association may have more than four players/pairs ranked one to eight in the IBF ranking list for a particular event. In such a case, the Member Association can enter any four (or fewer) of such players/pairs.

Players/pairs ranked nine to 24

3.2.4 Players/pairs ranked nine to 24 in the IBF ranking list for each event will be considered in turn and are eligible to enter unless a total of three players/pairs from any one Member Association would thereby be exceeded in that event.

Players/pairs ranked 25 to 150

3.2.5 Players/pairs ranked 25 to 150 in the IBF ranking list for each event will be considered in turn and are eligible to enter unless a total of two players/pairs from any one Member Association would thereby be exceeded in that event.

Players/pairs ranked 150 and lower

3.2.6 After considering the player/pair ranked 150 (Regulation 3.2.5), the players/pairs ranked nine and lower in the IBF ranking list for each event will be considered in turn and are eligible to enter unless a total of four players/pairs from any one Member Association would thereby be exceeded in that event. Players ranked lower than 150 are eligible to enter under this regulation.

We have worked through this process and indicated the players and pairs that are eligible to take part by highlighting them in red on the attachment.

You must advise us in writing before 8 June 2006 whether or not you wish to enter the players/pairs that we have highlighted red. Please either send your confirmation by e-mail to me at venuvenu@internationalbadminton.org copy to Noridah: email noridah@internationalbadminton.org and paisanr@gmail.com You can also sent by fax: +603-92826155

Interesting...
I see Paaske and Rasmussen is still eligible to play as a pair, where as their new pairs are not. Does it mean they will play together again ?
