Chinese shuttler Bao Chunlai continued his winning streak at the badminton Singapore Open badminton, beating Malaysia's Saman Ismail 2-0 in the quarter-finals.


It took only 24 minutes for Bao Chunlai, third seed in men's singles event, to beat the Malaysian 21-11, 21-11.

Bao will next take on Danish top seed Peter Gade, who sent off home favorite Ronald Susilo to book his spot in the semis.

Two-time champion Chen Hong of China has a chance to score a hat trick of wins as he beat Malaysia's Hafiz Hashim 13-21,21-14,21-15 in the quarter-finals.

In women's singles competition, teenager Lu Lan becomes the only Chinese to enter the next round.

Lu outnumbered Japanese Kaori Mori 22-20, 21-18 to secure a berth in the last four.
Three Chinese pairs have waltzed into the women's doubles semi-finals, while He Hanbin and Zhang Dan beat their English rivals to advance in the mixed doubles.

SI didn't stand a chance against BCL. Ronald played really well against Gade for the first match though. But I think he got tired during the second match. Good fighting spirit though.

mm..but today BCL is playing against Gade... why dont they play against each other of the same country of semis...then we can have 2 different countries in the finals... as chen hong today also play against the danes...

I predict that Gade will play against Chen Hong in the finals. And it wouldn't be fair playing against same countries. If BCL plays against CH, it won't be that intense as they're both from China. If one of them loses, doesn't matter. At least someone from China got into the finals. Same for the Danes. But if it's in the finals and they're both from same countries, heck, they'll fight like hell. Because, 170 000 bucks. Imagine how many NS9000s that can buy.

Bao Chun Lai was simply outclassed by Peter Gade. I think BCL is just too slow against Gade this time round.
