I heard there is a new badminton center with 15 courts in Richmond (not C1/2) - located somewhere near Westminster and Minoru? Any info here on this one?

yup. i heard about it also... ;)

supposedly just down the road from C1/C2.

Heard the same thing, some truth in it. Scheduled for July 2006 opening is what I heard, with 15 courts.
Can't wait to check it out.

then yet another full-scale badminton specific arena. wonder how the market will bear on that? that's great to have such a choice within short distances, but hopefully there will be enough business to make them all successful and sustainable.

Yeah, mid-July opening unfortunately I am not involved :( I believed that an announcement is pending on the forum so I will not steal the thunder.

Believed that the business model is going to be the same as C1/C2 (i.e court rentals and training).

Hopefully the demand is there in Richmond to substain the three businesses since it's direct competition. Right now, C1/C2 do close rather early (10pm/11pm on weekdays and 9pm on Sun) so hopefully this one will be opened later.

Yes, an announcement is pending. We have a few details to sort out. Construction is in full flow. Watch this space! :)
