View Full Version : Malaysian Open --- WHO IS READY ?
X Ball 06-11-2006, 10:50 PM Is LCW ready to defend his title ?
Can Lin Dan win ?
Is there another Malaysian capable of winning this ?
Can Li Mao plot a win for LCW ?
Your thoughts on this ?
Are our players training hard ?
Who will motivate the Malaysian players ?
Will the Singapore team do any good --- Ronald, is he coming ?
So many things to write on, get it done here !!!
X Ball 06-12-2006, 12:48 AM From all reports, LCW is training very hard and he needs to win this for all his supporters.
Good on you LCW ! Let us put some fear factor into the foreign players !
I seriously think this is another probable win for him. As much as Taufik is unbeatable in Indonesia, LCW is equally capable of retaining his title. The 'homeground' factor is intimidating especially the fans --- Kuching fans hopefully would be as vocal !!
indra 06-12-2006, 01:22 AM Is LCW ready to defend his title ?
-------He might be ready...but I don't think he can win the event. It is hard for him to defeat PG in SF and LD in Final
Can Lin Dan win ?
-------Yes...I think he will win.
Is there another Malaysian capable of winning this ?
------I guess only KKK/Chan has a better chance of winning the grand Prix
Can Li Mao plot a win for LCW ?
-----Difficult!!!

Wow you have all the answers. It is great. But what if we take one of the players out. LD or PG --- so only one to meet LCW ? It is possible --- that is why I ask whether Li Mao can plot that ?
jug8man 06-12-2006, 01:51 AM The Draws are not rigged & they are out already.
We Malaysians can not food poison our opponents coz that would kill our billion ringgit tourism industry.
So it's hard for me to think how Li Mao or Malaysia could plot a LCW win

hahaha, ok we would not poison anyone (I wasn't suggesting anything as drastic as that but it is interesting you had this evil thought;) ).
No, I was thinking more of strategy type 'killing' - maybe Li Mao sacrificing someone ---- something like getting KBH to work LD/PG to the limit (even tho killing his own chances but at least getting one of them to tire out before playing LCW).
Any thoughts ?
jug8man 06-12-2006, 02:25 AM Our players are a bunch of mercs. they fight for themselves to win & not just tire out the opponent, but that only comes naturally if each player plays to win as hard as possible
easier said than done tho.
Good luck to our Men & Lady's in Kuching! May the force be with them!
jug8man 06-12-2006, 03:02 AM hahaha, ok we would not poison anyone (I wasn't suggesting anything as drastic as that but it is interesting you had this evil thought;) ).
Haha well,...........
I was motioning & rallying the idea in the last BAM/2006 Malaysian Open secret meeting but Mr Punch had to intervene & Vetoed againts it.
Not his biz to meddle in BAM but what else is new :p :D
Joking!
sweetgal 06-12-2006, 03:56 AM LCW can at least get to the finals if he does really well.. since peter gade and lin dan are in a different group.. as long as he gets to at least the semis i'll be happy..
jas1121 06-12-2006, 05:21 AM it would be nice if LCW will be playing PG in the finals to avenge his loss to him during the thomas cup in the new scoring format.

So many things to write on, get it done here !!!Well,as a Malaysian,of course i hope LCW can win the third time in MO2006.But all the top players are coming ,espiacally Lin Dan is a super skill player.Let us wish him can defeat Lin Dan.As the men double,i personally hope KKK/CCM can win this, they are really have potential but lack of luck.Really hope them can win after the bad performance in SO2006.So,Malaysian,let us cheer for them.Hope you all can post the latest result, news, and pictures.Thanks.:) :)

Is LCW ready to defend his title?
Im sure his is.. But lack of confidence can bring him down easily
Can Lin Dan win?
If he's in his best condition like peter gade in SO, no doubt he has a great chance
Is there another Malaysian capable of winning this?
I believe KKK n CCM are talented n skillful enough, but it actually depends on them whether to win it or not... Inconsistency is still troubling them
Can Li Mao plot a win for LCW?
He might have an idea for this, but Im actually not confident with Lee Chong Wei himself
Your thoughts on this?
Slim chance... but there's miracle somewhere...
Are our players training hard?
No doubt they are... but performance on court sometimes doesn't prove it...
Who will motivate the Malaysian players?
There's a huge task for the home crowd to do right now... I guess they help a lot in boosting malaysian players' confidence
Will the Singapore team do any good --- Ronald, is he coming?
There's still need for improvement, especially with all top guns here in MO

yes... he must get warned  he's a malaysian (i think), but always gives bad sentiment to malaysia players
hector_iii 06-13-2006, 10:01 AM "get warned"? juz for posting sum thoughts? keke...face the facts, can't take a lil constructive comments. no wonder malaysia badminton and as a whole can never improve. always wanna hear good thgs. haha. childish! but for more serious matters malaysia has joined badminton for so long, longer den indon, china. last time can bcome champion bcos not many country play. but as more country play, malaysia badminton team bcome useless. always lose to indon, china. den denmark, korea now find difficult to beat thailand player. and all u malaysian malaysia supporter here are like jokers. bcome laffing stock of the world. akaka.
shah88 06-13-2006, 10:12 AM hector, ur'e really shallow. If you have nothing nice to say about them then don't say anything. I bet you can't even hit the shuttle properly and yet you want to insult them!
shah88 06-13-2006, 10:14 AM Anyway, I hope Ronald wins something this time. But looking at him play and the opponents that he will face...hmm.. maybe not =( During the Aviva Open, he kept playing defence and hardly attacked gade.. I hope he will do better this time la..
hector_iii 06-13-2006, 10:38 AM shah88
do urslf a favour n shutup. DUN further shame urslf.
wat i said was ALL FACTS.
if u r a typical malaysian fan, den it is easy to know why as a whole malaysia team is in the dumps and simply an embarassment.
with so much money attention and money pour into the sport, what the players got to show?
ABSOULUTELY NOTHING!
luyi80 06-13-2006, 10:41 AM hector, think of urself b4 commenting others! we welcome constructive comments, but not simply messing ard... Msia players hv been trained so hard, i dun think they wanna lose, same as other countries's players. pls respect others. no doubt sometime ppl comment Msia players r jaguh kpg, but the same happen to other countries players. C like this, if u study soo.....hard n yet stil fail ur exam, n ppl say that u r an idiot, would u like to hear that? pls...... dun try to deny their hardwork, time n their sacrifies! we admit that there r stil plenty room of improvement, n our young players r stil lack of experiences, exposures n skills, so instead of saying negative things, can u say something which u claimed as "constructive" criticism? so... since that u r so keen in giving constructive comment, can u propose realistic n achievable action plan to improve Msia players achievement in international arena? i think BAM will surely hire u as their consultant then!
according to a sport research published recently, y athletes done well in their homeground is bcoz their testerone hormone level increased by a significant percentage, which make them more aggressive in their homeground, understand?
dun ever mentioned that all Msian badminton supporters r jokers n childish, u r not only insulting the players, but all the supporters as well! i believe that all the forum members from Msia r badminton lovers n supporting our players, so when u said we r jokers n childish, u r pointing ur finger to urself as well...
shah88 06-13-2006, 10:48 AM For a start, if you want to give constructive comments, at least say it without hurting malaysian fans.. Words like 'useless' and 'poor' will definitely trigger reactions by the malaysianfans.
Malaysia may not be the top, but I'm damn sure they are working as hard as the rest. But do you think its easy? I used to be under national training and I know how it feels like. We train everyday of the week but we still can't even be the top players in Singapore.
Maybe if you're so good, why don't you join the malaysian squad and show us what YOU have as compared to players like LCW.
and maybe you should be the one who should shut up instead!
hector_iii 06-13-2006, 10:50 AM we admit that there r stil plenty room of improvement, n our young players r stil lack of experiences, exposures n skills, so instead of saying negative things, can u say something which u claimed as "constructive" criticism?
always after failure, say can improve, do better next time. juz like a broken cassette tape or a scracthed CD player. after so many improvements and do better next time since 1970s, what had malaysia show for it?
---what is it they are good for??? absoulutely nothing?!! ---
if u notice, malaysia always talk talk alot, but no action. juz empty can making noise.
to make matters worst
summore the "fans" are so easily satisified.
maybe most of the forummers here (and malaysian supporters)are still very young and seriously lack of thinking skills and common sense.
look at wat happen to hafiz haschim? bcome part of rubbish pile.
foresee lee cw, bcome next stinker.
kuan bh already thr.
shah88 06-13-2006, 10:55 AM seriously, since you sound so 'mature' in all this, why don't you give suggestions to the malaysian squad on what to do next as suggested by luyi ?
"look at wat happen to hafiz haschim? bcome part of rubbish pile.

I suspect, you're already way below the rubbish pile
hector_iii 06-13-2006, 11:02 AM I suspect, you're already way below the rubbish pile
i never directly insult u, so u shldn't insult otherwise, hector's words of fury will be unleashed on u until ur mother oso kenot recognize.
Keep the peace. dun bcome emotional.
seriously, since you sound so 'mature' in all this, why don't you give suggestions to the malaysian squad on what to do next as suggested by luyi ?
give suggestions??? malaysia badminton too many suggestion and NO ACTION.
ppl like u and LUYI always say 'give suggestion", "give idea".
But all is like a fool, talking to the wind. end in failure.
and the cycle starts again.
KAKA
OK folks, and especially hector_iii & shah88:
Please continue the debate but DON'T go for personal attacks & insults. Be as creative, smart, and constructive as I know you can be, or this thread will be closed, and you might end up getting yourselves banned. Consider this a warning.

shah88 06-13-2006, 11:03 AM tutu, let him be. To each his own. If he thinks that malaysia is a bagful of crap, then let him be. I'm sure we have MORE MALAYSIAN FANS who will support Malaysia all the way than someone like him.
shah88 06-13-2006, 11:09 AM and if malaysia wants 'to talk but no action' then let them talk! you never know someday they can be as good as china or Indo
hector_iii 06-13-2006, 11:10 AM shah88
fortunately shld i have ability n talent to play for national squad, i won't have time to educate u. anyway, with lee cw skills/talents, he won't even make China's province team. indon club 2nd divisyen maybe can.
luyi80 06-13-2006, 11:10 AM ya hector, i agree wf u 100%....yayaya, we talk a lot and nothing come out -- ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Indeed, we need ppl like u, who talk a lot, as i proposed earlier, to come out with constructive action plans, strategies, or even help BAM to carry out SWOT analysis to help Msian players to shine in international arena, like 70's. BUT, b4 that, please make sure, u can spell their names correctly......
We as Msian childish, joker n shallow supporters will b thankful to u....if u really can come out wf something concrete, instead of 'talk' also, in this forum.
We respect ur opinion, as u claimed that u r juz saying out ur thoughts...but indeed, u can say it in more polite way.....we live in a civalize world.
Juz dun wan this forum to bcome a battle place, with harsh words throw in here n there.
shah88 06-13-2006, 11:16 AM sigh. Hector, to each his own. If you feel that you're right and we're wrong, then so be it. I'm happier that way.
Anyway, like I said earlier, I hope Ronald can show some improvement as compared to his previous match with gade. It was a good fight though but as a Singaporean watching him getting smacked like that is definitely not a nice feeling. Go ronald!
Actually Ronald played well during the Spore Open. In time he will be a good contender in any international outings.
shah88 06-13-2006, 11:29 AM Well, its a good comeback for him after his injury I guess but I feel that he was in a defensive mode most of the time..
my prediction on MO : Lin Dan will emerge as champion for MS.
EastDevil 06-13-2006, 11:35 AM For a start, if you want to give constructive comments, at least say it without hurting malaysian fans.. Words like 'useless' and 'poor' will definitely trigger reactions by the malaysianfans.

We have to be fair with Hector. He has a right to his comment even if it "trigger" reactions from malaysian fans. You could prove him wrong with your arguments, but shouldn't tell him to stop saying things that malaysian fans do not like to hear.
hector_iv 06-13-2006, 11:37 AM remember each time after failure, malaysia surely will form Project team with high ambition of winning olympic gold or thomas cup; spend a lot of money, boast a lot, raise hopes THEN finally bcos of all the same reasons, FAILURE is the end result. blame de weather not suited, no mental training, etc... den analyze n suggest, new project team come up. KAKA real joke example where got thomas cup national team got 2 head coach ? (li mao/ misboon sidek) dis is laffing stock of de world. bcos no clear direction/strategy. finally wat happened? as we all know, all misboon's puppets lost to the old folk team of denmark. which was destroyed by the great China team. den blame on injury to wong CH. a thomas cup champion has good all arnd strength. not juz depend on one player. and oso thomas cup squad allow reserve. and of all ppl, BAM choose kuan bh (bottom rubbish player) JUZ bcos he is misboon's puppet. dis shows that WHAT is it good for? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
EastDevil 06-13-2006, 11:40 AM Actually Ronald played well during the Spore Open. In time he will be a good contender in any international outings.
I think the scratch Singapore doubles pair of Saputra and Wijaya shows some potential. At least this pairing has better purpose than the Saputra/Li Yu Jia paring. Li Yu Jia seems to be more a burden than a decent teammate as she always makes all kinds of mistakes bringing the team down and her strokes does not have much power at all compared to other women doubles players.
shah88 06-13-2006, 11:41 AM We have to be fair with Hector. He has a right to his comment even if it "trigger" reactions from malaysian fans. You could prove him wrong with your arguments, but shouldn't tell him to stop saying things that malaysian fans do not like to hear.
I guess you're right East Devil. But for him to insult the players by saying that they are 'rubbish dump' and whatever-else , sorry, but I can't accept it. I'm not a sensitive person but the least he could do is not to insult the players.

Perhaps politics might be playing a part? Malaysia is definitely way better than most countries but the reputation and investment does not seem to be generating significant returns.
Despite whatever problems Malaysia might have, things do not get solved overnight. Don't forget, sometimes, there might also be some silly plans put into place because of unrealistic public pressure. I am sure they could sort it out once they have some capable and single-minded leadership in place in their association.
EastDevil 06-13-2006, 11:53 AM I guess you're right East Devil. But for him to insult the players by saying that they are 'rubbish dump' and whatever-else , sorry, but I can't accept it. I'm not a sensitive person but the least he could do is not to insult the players.
I agree it might be that nice to insult the players that much. But maybe he is just a passionate fan that simply need to vent his frustration about the lack of performance from the players?
Although I am not a malaysia fan since I obviously tend to support my own singapore, but I do support players who work hard like LCW and LCW is one of my favourite players. But besides LCW, I find the other singles players in the malaysian team a bit of a disappointment. I think the biggest disappointment might be Hafiz as he has all the physical and technical capabilities in him that should allow him to dominate. I tend to find him a little lazy and lack of fighting spirit and mental strength. KBH, I do not see him as having as much potential as Hafiz so can't really say much anymore.

kuan bh already thr.I feel so strange, are you really hate the malaysian players? You use the word "rubbish" is really very serious. You can't blame other people angry. If your favourite player or team called rubbish by other people, are you happy with that? You can definitely give your opinian but please use some polite word.We can't force you to like some one or team that you think is bad,but for me if i can't do that and can't perform like the players,i won't give any comments.Although the malaysian players are not the best, but they still manage to win in some competition. If LCW is really that bad,How can he become the world no2?So,there are many factors effect the players perfomance, there are no sure win in any competition.I hope you will appreciate what i say.Don't make this forum a battel place and don't make serious comments!

U dont tell me its fair to say malaysian players as stinkers because they are not! Do you think so? I need some explanation here...
Malaysian fans are not hardcore fans, u know? we don stop pppl frm talking things bout malaysian players n threatens to burn your house down if you do.. I do think malaysia players have gone down a little bit... I just hope that u are not describing malaysian players as rubbish, useless, stinkers like they are not human at all!!
No, I don't mind you calling Singaporean players whatever as long as you have good reasons to justify it. And no, I won't slap you. :D
Even though I do not agree with his style of commenting on the poor malaysian players does not mean he has no right of his comments. At the end of the day, you could just ignore him. :p

Ohwwwww, my two long threads has been deleted, im not even going hard... it took me quite long to write these threads... Why they are not deleting hector's?
hara^kazuko 06-14-2006, 08:10 AM I heard ASTRO is going to show the SF and Final. Check the guide book.

Astro is going to show MO's semifinals n finals? I've been going through the astro guide book but i see nothing
OK, since you guys just won't let go of the "hector angle", and I'm now sick of having to delete posts from this thread, I really have no option but to close this thread.
Get me right: I understand your reactions, but please folks, next time you spot an obvious trouble-maker such as Hector (now a former BF member by the way), hit the "report this post button", not the "reply" button. It will be better for us all. ;)
