View Full Version : Malaysia Open 2006: SEMI-FINAL (17/06)
badMania 06-16-2006, 11:42 AM MEN'S SINGLES
Lin Dan vs Chen Jin (MATCH OF THE ROUND) -- battle of the Chinese...and Lin Dan should prevail.
Lee Hyun Il vs Lee Chong Wei -- the home favorite should win.
MEN'S DOUBLES
Mohd Fairuzizuan/Mohd Tazari vs Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah -- the veteran pair has a higher chance of winning.
Chan Choong Ming/Koo Kien Keat vs Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun (MATCH OF THE ROUND) -- expect another thrilling encounter...possibly 3 sets...and with the home crowd, Chan/Koo can win!
WOMEN'S SINGLES
Zhang Ning vs Wang Chen (MATCH OF THE ROUND) -- Zhang to win.
Tracey Hallam vs Xie Xingfang -- can the English create another shock? I don't think so.
WOMEN'S DOUBLES
Gao Ling/Huang Sui vs Pan Pan/Tian Qing -- another title for the Chinese...boring...
Du Jing/Yu Yang vs Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jung (MATCH OF THE ROUND) -- the young Chinese pair should win.
MIXED DOUBLES
Zhang Jun/Gao Ling vs Jen Eriksen/Mette Schjoldager -- the Chinese pair to win.
Jonas Rasmussen/Britta Andersen vs Anggun Nugroho/Vita Marissa (MATCH OF THE ROUND) -- an easier task for Anggun/Vita. I hope they can continue their good performance tomorrow.
Even though i would love to see a Lin Dan Vs Lee CW rematch. At the same time i also would want to know how a Chen Jin vs Lee CW would be like.
I would love to see my boys CCM and KKK prevail over the Chinese Pair. I really hope CCM and KKK do well here. Please don't dissapoint me again guys.

I would like LCW to win. But I find that LCW is a little lacking of that "champion's aura". :D He should be more imposing during matches against Lin Dan because Lin Dan is very imposing.
Not sure about CCM/KKK as their gameplay seems a little messy. If they disappoint again, they would get oily from the butter from the coaches. :D

CCM/KKK tend to perform if the odds are against them (Thomas Cup semi-final). When they are the favorites, they tend to lose. I personally think they will be fired up tomorrow and win the match for Team Malaysia.

They better! It will be a torture for us to listen to lame excuses their fans will put up if they lose. Same thing for LCW, better play properly. Don't play play. :D
I personally think CCM/KKK will fare well this time. One reason is Rexy is there. They tends to do better when Rexy is behind them. If they still lose.. they will surely get spanking from him.

Yeah, better to get tough with them. They cannot always be so temperamental.
HappyPlato 06-16-2006, 01:39 PM I am not a crazy fan of any player or country. Well, there is no Canadian team, :-(
May the best players win!

badMania 06-17-2006, 12:58 AM First live match is Anggun Nugroho/Vita Marissa vs Jonas Rasmussen/Britta Andersen. YES!!!!
elwin81 06-17-2006, 01:01 AM Yes, the streaming is quite good.
Fantastic!!!
badMania 06-17-2006, 01:07 AM Jonas/Britta currently leading 11-7. Many unforced errors from the Indonesian pair.
TrunkZ69 06-17-2006, 01:10 AM Are you atching frmo the LInk Elwin gave or TVants? The link he gave me stopped working suddenly earrlier and i can't get it to work again.
badMania 06-17-2006, 01:11 AM The Danes clinch the first set 21-11...in 10 mins...quite convincing. Anggun/Vita made a lot of errors!
z3048018 06-17-2006, 01:13 AM too much errors....
elwin81 06-17-2006, 01:17 AM Are you atching frmo the LInk Elwin gave or TVants? The link he gave me stopped working suddenly earrlier and i can't get it to work again.

z3048018 06-17-2006, 01:19 AM try the badmintonworld.org one. watching that now and so far so good
badMania 06-17-2006, 01:20 AM The Indonesias are now ahead 13-11 in the second set. Meanwhile, Zhang Jun/Gao Ling are ahead 21-15.
**KZ** 06-17-2006, 01:21 AM it's on tv already...but sorry i'm unable to update the scores as my pc is not in the same place as my tv....but indonesian MX lost the 1st game...and guess who's coaching jens and mette? martin lungaard hansen
elwin81 06-17-2006, 01:22 AM very nice fight back from INA in set 2.
Anggun got powerful smashes.

**KZ** 06-17-2006, 01:28 AM indonesian MX lost.....straight games
elwin81 06-17-2006, 01:28 AM it's on tv already...but sorry i'm unable to update the scores as my pc is not in the same place as my tv....but indonesian MX lost the 1st game...and guess who's coaching jens and mette? martin lungaard hansen
wow, this is cool man..........coaching his partner in MD.
so has he recovered from his injury?
badMania 06-17-2006, 01:28 AM Sigh...the Indonesian pair lost!
badMania 06-17-2006, 01:29 AM What a disappointing performance! Anggun/Vita were ahead 18-15 in the second set, however, Jonas/Britta proved to be the better pair as they got the service back and scored 6 consecutive points to win 21-18 in the second set. Anggun was too nervous and made many mistakes today! So, Jonas Rasmussen/Britta Andersen advance to their first final, winning 21-11, 21-18 in less than half an hour.
z3048018 06-17-2006, 01:30 AM any update on the other semi?
elwin81 06-17-2006, 01:31 AM I hope ZJ/GL can win.........
and not for all danes final.
elwin81 06-17-2006, 01:32 AM yes, I expect the INA pair to be strong. They just simply have too many unforced error. Shuttle all on to the net. Sigh...........
badMania 06-17-2006, 01:32 AM Next up, Tracey Hallam vs Xie Xingfang. The English player has not won in their 7 previous encounters.
badMania 06-17-2006, 01:33 AM yes, I expect the INA pair to be strong. They just simply have too many unforced error. Shuttle all on to the net. Sigh...........
They only showed some nice touches in the middle of the second set when they managed to get back from 8-10 down to edge 13-10 ahead.
badMania 06-17-2006, 01:35 AM Jens Eriksen/Mette Schjoldager manage to force a rubber as they take the second set 21-15. Let's see if they can beat the top seed and create an all-Denmark final.
elwin81 06-17-2006, 01:36 AM OMG.........come on England.
Come on Tracey........don't make too many mistakes.
badMania 06-17-2006, 01:37 AM Xie leads 8-4 early in the first set.
elwin81 06-17-2006, 01:38 AM Is Andrew Smith coaching Tracey???
badMania 06-17-2006, 01:40 AM A nice cross-court drop shot gives Xie her 11th point. She leads Tracey Hallam 11-4 at the interval. So far easy for her. The crowds seem to be cheering for the other court, where Zhang Jun/Gao Ling leads 6-4 in the rubber set.
2 more points for Xie, 13-4.
badMania 06-17-2006, 01:42 AM Finally 2 consecutive points for Tracey Hallam but she gave service back to Xie, 6-15.
badMania 06-17-2006, 01:46 AM It's all too easy for the second seed as she takes the first set 21-6. Its still tight at the other court, with scores at 11-11. An exciting game...
badMania 06-17-2006, 01:47 AM The Chinese pair inches ahead 14-11.
jermaine 06-17-2006, 01:48 AM are you all watching now? which channel?

elwin81 06-17-2006, 02:27 AM tracey bt XXF!!!!!!
What!!!!! Superb job from Tracey.
I am so glad she made it to final.
badMania......I am not watching too, some problem with the streaming.
Arkh............please update, MS next...........
z3048018 06-17-2006, 02:29 AM XXF did seem to be breathless and very lethargic
badMania 06-17-2006, 02:30 AM Really? That's a fantastic achievement. Once again, XXF has not impressed under the new system. She took the first set easily and perhaps lost her stamina? Just like match against Wang Lin in the China Masters Final.
elwin81 06-17-2006, 02:31 AM LCW got a new pair of shoes............
apontoh 06-17-2006, 02:32 AM congratulations to Tracey..wow!! the chinese wall was broken.
jermaine 06-17-2006, 02:34 AM HAS lin dan vs chen ji nmatch oveR?
go lcw!
z3048018 06-17-2006, 02:38 AM this is the first time i've seen CW play - quite an exciting player to watch
Bresis 06-17-2006, 02:40 AM wow..xxf lost to tracey hallam!! no more great wall of china? hehe
z3048018 06-17-2006, 02:48 AM first set to korea 21-15!
badMania 06-17-2006, 02:51 AM The women's singles matches have been concluded. Zhang Ning won in straight sets 21-16, 21-11. The real shock comes from the bottom half where Xie Xingfang was beaten by Tracey Hallam in 3 sets: 21-6, 22-24, 18-21. Who would have that Tracey will win after the first set?
Now, the men's singles matches are on the way...
apontoh 06-17-2006, 02:51 AM LCW lost first game 21-17 , he's not playing too well..
badMania 06-17-2006, 02:53 AM LCW lost first game 21-17 , he's not playing too well..
I hope he recovers to take the second set!
z3048018 06-17-2006, 02:53 AM news break again!! a close game in the other semis
jermaine 06-17-2006, 02:55 AM lol why suddenely change to news?
apontoh 06-17-2006, 02:59 AM sorry correction ,LCW lost 15-21 first game
z3048018 06-17-2006, 03:01 AM who won the first set the other semis?
apontoh 06-17-2006, 03:04 AM LCW won 2nd game 21-12. Rubber!
z3048018 06-17-2006, 03:04 AM 21-12 to LCW. a much better game. Lee HI seems very tired
CanuckBur 06-17-2006, 03:06 AM On the other side, it looks like Lin Dan is winning. 11-6.
badMania 06-17-2006, 03:06 AM The home favorite cruised through 21-12, after leading 11-9 at the interval. His opponents made too many errors (either net or out return).
z3048018 06-17-2006, 03:07 AM 15-7 in the other semis to LD in the second set
badMania 06-17-2006, 03:09 AM A very confident start to the rubber game by LCW as he leads 6-1. LHI still makes too many mistakes.
z3048018 06-17-2006, 03:11 AM 21-11 to Lin Dan and into the finals
badMania 06-17-2006, 03:13 AM Lin Dan has won his match, 21-11 in the second set. He awaits the winner of LCW and LHI. LCW is on course, leading 11-4 at the interval. Looks like it will be a repeat of last year's final.
badMania 06-17-2006, 03:16 AM LHI has lost his confidence. Lee Chong Wei wins the third set easily 21-6.
EastDevil 06-17-2006, 03:17 AM LCW got a new pair of shoes............
Yeah I noticed too. Wonder what shoe is that?
z3048018 06-17-2006, 03:17 AM LCW is running away with it. LHI didn't really felt like playing, but just for 'entertainment value'. LHI completely lost it in the 3rd
apontoh 06-17-2006, 03:18 AM LCW won rubber 21-6 !!!!!!! congrats to malaysians!
**KZ** 06-17-2006, 03:18 AM yes....LCW won!!!!!
elwin81 06-17-2006, 03:18 AM I am so sad that Lee from Korea didn't give a good match.
Is he very tired? He just gave loads of easy points to LCW.
I thought we can see a close match between them.
Anyway, congratulation to LCW, another LCW vs LD.
Will the results be like last year again?
apontoh 06-17-2006, 03:18 AM LCW v LD final!!!!!!!!
Bresis 06-17-2006, 03:19 AM MD is up next?? Go Go CCM/KKK!!
badMania 06-17-2006, 03:20 AM Lee Hyun Il just lost his motivation to play. The match was close at 11-9 in the second set, but, since then, the Korean only managed to get 9 more points in total.
elwin81 06-17-2006, 03:20 AM Yeah I noticed too. Wonder what shoe is that?
Ya, he no longer wear SHB 99.
Have yonex got any new shoes now?
badMania 06-17-2006, 03:20 AM MD is up next?? Go Go CCM/KKK!!
Next up is WD...just be patient! Du Jing/Yu Yang vs Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jung.
Bresis 06-17-2006, 03:22 AM oops..ok ok..sorry..being a lil' bit too excited when there are 3 Msian pairs in the semis...jaguh kampung is really apt for our national shuttlers..hehee
apontoh 06-17-2006, 03:24 AM i have a feeling that LD will win it..LCW's mental strength seems a bit weak, at least thats my impression.
CanuckBur 06-17-2006, 03:25 AM The Malaysian TV works in mysterious way. It is late night/very early morning here so I didn't shout very loud in a different language.
elwin81 06-17-2006, 03:25 AM Anyone know if the MD match between MAS and CHN will compete in the TV court?
optimistic 06-17-2006, 03:25 AM did LD beat CJ in two straight games.???
...couldn't follow the result after 18:15 for LD in first game..
badMania 06-17-2006, 03:32 AM The young Chinese pair is fast and furious. They lead 11-5 at the interval.
CanuckBur 06-17-2006, 03:32 AM In this WD, the Koreans will be in trouble. The tall Korean will not be able to help much in this game against the two Chinese heavy hitters.
**KZ** 06-17-2006, 03:39 AM yawn......WD...always china china china
badMania 06-17-2006, 03:39 AM Du Jing/Yu Yang take the first set 21-14. In the other court, Gao Ling/Huang Sui also clinch the first set 21-11.
EastDevil 06-17-2006, 03:43 AM Ya, he no longer wear SHB 99.
Have yonex got any new shoes now?
Have not heard of a new Yonex shoe yet. Maybe it is a new colour of an existing one?
badMania 06-17-2006, 03:46 AM It's the same story in the second set. The Koreans simply have no answer to the Chinese's incredible speed and fast break. Du Jing/Yu Yang have a commanding lead of 11-2. They will win.
z3048018 06-17-2006, 03:46 AM they are trying to see who will complete their games first!
z3048018 06-17-2006, 03:54 AM ok people, wake up...WD is over :) ;) :p
badMania 06-17-2006, 03:55 AM Du Jing/Yu Yang win convincingly 21-14, 21-13. They will meet their senior, Gao Ling/Huang Sui who also beat their juniors easily 21-11, 21-10.
After this, the last match of the day...Chan Choong Ming/Koo Kien Keat vs Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun.
elwin81 06-17-2006, 03:56 AM Have not heard of a new Yonex shoe yet. Maybe it is a new colour of an existing one?
Yes, may be. Or it's a new shoes from Yonex which only let the players to try first and get feedback from them???
elwin81 06-17-2006, 03:56 AM MD next.......hope TV1 will still broadcast the match.
CanuckBur 06-17-2006, 03:57 AM Damn, I have an early practice tomorrow... time to go to sleep.:(
shuzzack 06-17-2006, 03:58 AM huh.................................:(
badMania 06-17-2006, 03:59 AM MD next.......hope TV1 will still broadcast the match.
They will...but we will first have to wait till this darn news is over. I am wondering how come Malaysia has so many news that RTM has to schedule an hourly update.
yannie 06-17-2006, 04:00 AM Poor Chen Jin, still can't beat Lin Dan in the big tournaments...
Awaiting the Cai/Fu vs CCM/KKK match now.
elwin81 06-17-2006, 04:02 AM They will...but we will first have to wait till this darn news is over. I am wondering how come Malaysia has so many news that RTM has to schedule an hourly update.
I have no idea why they do this. TV1 is the only station which do that. Unfortunately, this is the only station which will broadcast all the sports in the country.
badMania 06-17-2006, 04:03 AM I think this news is going to last at least 20 mins...grrr....
xijiayu 06-17-2006, 04:04 AM Poor Chen Jin, still can't beat Lin Dan in the big tournaments...
Awaiting the Cai/Fu vs CCM/KKK match now.
Don't worry, he is still young and could do it next time. He can be the top 3 player in the world by the end of this year.
z3048018 06-17-2006, 04:04 AM i think it's the lack of international exposure/experience. give CJ some time
z3048018 06-17-2006, 04:05 AM it's the CNN of malaysia!!
erin_hakkinen 06-17-2006, 04:09 AM I think this news is going to last at least 20 mins...grrr....
it's 1/2 hour news
badMania 06-17-2006, 04:11 AM Yawn....still not over yet! How can they just cut us off like that...
**KZ** 06-17-2006, 04:16 AM it's back again....at least it's not as bad as the time when ABC was broadcasted
EastDevil 06-17-2006, 04:17 AM Yawn....still not over yet! How can they just cut us off like that...
Its a hallmark of malaysian TV.
badcliq 06-17-2006, 04:18 AM that's why m'sia tv is so crap..-__-
Slater 06-17-2006, 04:19 AM its not even a breaking news. 30 minutes of news to inform the citizens of malaysia who met an accident on the road last night, who had an open house yesterdau morning, who's house collapsed last week, who fell sick , etc etc...
well, no wonder RTM has never caught the viewers attention for the past 35 yrs nor have they advanced at all compared to AStro
badMania 06-17-2006, 04:19 AM it's back again....at least it's not as bad as the time when ABC was broadcasted
Oo?? how come its still not on yet for mine.
badMania 06-17-2006, 04:20 AM its not even a breaking news.
Indeed...its Berita Negri...or local news...none of which are interesting enough for me. I am falling asleep now....
yannie 06-17-2006, 04:21 AM awww... and why did they choose to cut THIS match...
badcliq 06-17-2006, 04:21 AM does that mean we miss the 30 mins of actions?!
badMania 06-17-2006, 04:22 AM awww... and why did they choose to cut THIS match...
For no particular reason...when its time for news...its time for news. I would rather they break for the 1/2 hr news at 4pm!
Wildstone 06-17-2006, 04:22 AM they can cut the WS , the LS but NOT the MS `!!!
z3048018 06-17-2006, 04:23 AM it could be all over!! or they weren't planning to show it?
badMania 06-17-2006, 04:23 AM does that mean we miss the 30 mins of actions?!
YES, which means that the match could well be over!
elwin81 06-17-2006, 04:24 AM ok, news finished.
hope they will resume the broadcast.
badcliq 06-17-2006, 04:24 AM news finish...argh...hopefully still got some action lefts!
badMania 06-17-2006, 04:24 AM Its already 1/2 an hour now....and the news is still not over!
Slater 06-17-2006, 04:25 AM i don't get it. why do they have to break for news when its not even a breaking news. it's more of what happened this week.
elwin81 06-17-2006, 04:26 AM MAS won the 1st set!!!
mirrura 06-17-2006, 04:28 AM i think i heard msia won 21-17 in the first set, now they are leading 11-9
whereas ctf - lww lost to fairuzizuan pair in straight set if i heard correctly
badMania 06-17-2006, 04:28 AM Its on...and we are in the middle of the second half
CCM/KKK win the first set 21-13 and they lead 11-8 at the interval.
The winner will meet Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari/Lin Woon Fui, who has beaten Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah.
elwin81 06-17-2006, 04:29 AM MAS pair is very strong now.........
xijiayu 06-17-2006, 04:32 AM i think i heard msia won 21-17 in the first set, now they are leading 11-9
whereas ctf - lww lost to fairuzizuan pair in straight set if i heard correctly
Could that be Msia strategy of improving Tazari and Lin's ranking in the world? I read from the news that Rexy wants them to be among top 8 seeding in WC.
badcliq 06-17-2006, 04:32 AM cut off!! argh!!

mirrura 06-17-2006, 04:42 AM haha..exactly...it was a practise to me..watcing the tv, hands busy on the keyboard, keeping track of the scores....

Sigh............
z3048018 06-17-2006, 04:53 AM yes, a "wonderful" day but some very good matches, except for the WD
**KZ** 06-17-2006, 04:53 AM yay!!!!....hope LCW wins tommorow...
xijiayu 06-17-2006, 04:56 AM But I still think that the biggest upset was the defeat of XXF by TH from England.
shuzzack 06-17-2006, 04:59 AM ccm/kkk play very gud today
hara^kazuko 06-17-2006, 05:02 AM Congratulations to Tracey Hallam, Lee Chong Wei, KKK/CCM and Mohd/Lim who made it this far... I'm very very impressed by their performances, Tracey did a superb job n so the Malaysians, but Lee Chong Wei is having some tough time tomorrow against Lin Dan, while Malaysia's men doubles have absolutely nothing to worry about.. Lim and Mohd did a great job defeating the seniors and it's a promising future for Malaysian men doubles but KKK and CCM will make things hard for Lim and Mohd... KKK looks strong today... omigosh, im so so amused

Actually XXF lost is nothing big deal to her.To me,she is a very very good player,i think she lose is affected by some factor.I am so sad,:crying: :crying: i am not able to watch the semi-final today.Really regret it.Tomorow rtm got show the final?I doubt the semi-final must be fantastic.I feel like crying to miss this.:crying:
zqloy 06-17-2006, 07:55 AM Did anyone notice that Cai/Fu doesnt even bother to shake hands after losing the match to CCM/KKK? Especially Cai storm off the court immediately after...

Yes, I noticed that as well. Only FHF stay in the court packing up and shake hands.
hara^kazuko 06-17-2006, 08:27 AM Yes, I noticed that as well. Only FHF stay in the court packing up and shake hands.
But KKK and CCM have to walk over as well... I thought every single player has the old habit to shake hands before they leave the court... Was it on purpose or they just forgot to do so?
elwin81 06-17-2006, 08:38 AM how can they forget? This is a routine thing to do after the match. They have played many many matched already.
hara^kazuko 06-17-2006, 08:41 AM how can they forget? This is a routine thing to do after the match. They have played many many matched already.
Ya, I know... Im trying to say that KKK is lot more better attitude even though he's arrogant :D
elwin81 06-17-2006, 08:46 AM Ya, I know... Im trying to say that KKK is lot more better attitude even though he's arrogant :D
Yes, agreed. For that match, I am just a bit disappointed of CaiYun.
hara^kazuko 06-17-2006, 08:50 AM Yes, agreed. For that match, I am just a bit disappointed of CaiYun.
well, it's kinda hard for him too... the world number two's pressure is huge, mayb he just couldnt let it go losing to lower rank players
Jessica 06-17-2006, 09:05 AM Ya, I know... Im trying to say that KKK is lot more better attitude even though he's arrogant :DWell,he is really better and he is not arrogant at all,i think he just is a cool person.i like him, he have his own character theat i can't find in other players
Jessica 06-17-2006, 09:08 AM Yes, agreed. For that match, I am just a bit disappointed of CaiYun.Maybe they are not means it,we should't blame them. Some times, one people action will cause us though other things.Well, losing to other is not a shame thing,i doubt they won't because of losing than angry. They are quite a good pair but for me KKK/CCM are better.NO CHOICE,no matter what, i still support them.:) :)
hara^kazuko 06-17-2006, 09:09 AM Well,he is really better and he is not arrogant at all,i think he just is a cool person.i like him, he have his own character theat i can't find in other players
He's unique... and he acts cool a lot.. Pointing fingers, biting shuttlecock..... but he is him... that's the bit i like him about too
blue_apple 06-17-2006, 09:17 AM Yes, I noticed that as well. Only FHF stay in the court packing up and shake hands.
i think is because that kkk n ccm were too happy n they went straight to the coach, n the chinese pairs didn't want to wait so long, plus they are sad that they lost...so they rushed back lorrr...
sweetgal 06-17-2006, 09:18 AM Did anyone notice that Cai/Fu doesnt even bother to shake hands after losing the match to CCM/KKK? Especially Cai storm off the court immediately after...
tats a really bad display of sportsmanship la.......
yea.. kkk went to shake hands wif fu while cai just went off.. but it was a good game i guess..
sweetgal 06-17-2006, 09:34 AM it was fun in the stadium.. screamed my lungs out.. i pity those playing against the msians.. no supporters at all.. maybe there were some, but not enough for them to hear the cheering.. but i was disappointed eriksen lost.. one funny thing that happened was when my friend insisted that this tall guy was chen jin, i went over and asked for an autograph.. the guy was holding a t-shirt but wasnt wearing one of those tshirts.. so when i asked, he said, "wo shi gong zuo ren yuan" as in i'm not a player, i''m a worker here.. i guess i got tricked.. haha.. couldn't really recognise him.. smart though.. wasn't hassled by a whole bunch of people. haha..
sweetgal 06-17-2006, 09:42 AM tracey bt XXF!!!!!!
i think xxf took tracey a lil to easy.. dont think xxf expected to lose.. she looked as if everything was too easy for her.. my friend said when he was at riverside, he went over to lin dan and xxf for their autograph.. they were talking about how xxf can win msia open.. lin dan was saying that she has to watch out for zhang ning cos zn can beat xxf.. but they didn't expect xxf to go down in the semis.. i have a feeling xxf didnt take tracey too seriously..

And XXF paid the heavy price of humiliation.

Yeah, the way she played in first set, fulled of confident n relax... She only did jump smash when in need... I guess she overlooked Tracey
Louisa 06-17-2006, 09:58 AM yes, agree wf u guys....she was too relax n over confident. I was in the stadium, comparing the way she plays n Zhang Ning, Zhang was real good, but XXF....a bit lazy
Well done to Tracey....btw, I met her outside the stadium, took her photo, autograph, n talk to her...she is really friendly.

X Ball 06-17-2006, 10:11 AM Yeah... I wonder if she's reaching the top of her career at the late age, maybe she could go further with fantastic result like dis..
She may be in her twilight but who cares, she loves the game and plays it well. Tonight she played her guts out. And there is no one who saw her would not like to congratulate her. I am sure all the English players would love her for this achievement.

Wow....ur fren can hear what they said???
extremenanopowe 06-17-2006, 10:20 AM Welldone Malaysia for reaching the finals. I believe some of you may be put off with the attitude of the malaysian doubles pair especially KKK/CCM who shows no respect for the chinese.  They should have shake their opponents hands first as a mark of respect:) :) . Hopefully they can show a good example to the younger players and show some good role model. Sportmanship is important even though sometimes players may be over enthusiastic about the winning. Regret to see this. :crying: :crying: It shows there is no discipline. Winning locally is easy (seems untouchable), winning outside of Malaysia is a different thing. Wonder if IBF do have code of conduct. Nevertheless, Malaysia Boleh!:D

Please help me to Cheer Tracey up tomorrow. I like her to win the title.
Pretty please for LCW as well............Terima Kasih !!!!!!!!!
yannie 06-17-2006, 10:22 AM Cai is a loser.
X Ball, it's unfair to label him like that. Cai Yun also doesn't like to lose, but in a match, someone has to lose.
Sometimes, emotions can overwhelm us and we don't really realize what we've done.
I know Cai personally, I'm sure he feels bad for not shaking hands, but at that moment he was too distraught.

No excuse for not shaking hands !!! It is called unsportsmanlike. If KKK did not do that because he lost, he would also be called unsportsmanlike. Got it ?
Louisa 06-17-2006, 10:28 AM Please help me to Cheer Tracey up tomorrow. I like her to win the title.

errrrrr.....a bit susah, as i m fanatic supporter of ZN.:D Anyway, i sure will clap for Tracey for all her good shots. I congratulate n encourage her a few hours ago, outside the stadium....a friendly n humble player. I met Chen Hong as well, but....cool guy, even i talk to him in his language....no response from him, so frustrated.
LCW is different, friendly and patient...even when we asked him for photo taking and autograph...credit to him. So does LWW, CCM n KKK.
Going to get ZN's autograph tomorrow...wish me good luck. Malaysia Boleh!!!

Ok, I agree it's unsportsmanlike, but surely not a "loser". Got it?

Well was she a loser tonight you tell me ?:p
kokcheng 06-17-2006, 10:32 AM What a "wonderful" day...
Chen Jin lost!
Cai/Fu lost!
Sigh............It's alright.Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.If every time China win, then it wouldn't be fun anymore, would it.That' the beauty of the 21 point. It makes the game more unpredictable.Just imagine players from India,Germany,The Philippines,Russia,Hungry and so on start to win open tournament, what an impact it would have on the popularity of badminton worldwide .I believe you will be the first one to agree that the popularity of badminton superscedes all.Anyway, not to worry cj will win again soon.

I think its the chinese who doesnt show any sportsmanship not ccm/kkk. Celebrate before shaking doesnt mean tat they dont respect the opponents... hey cum on... wont u do tat 1st??
And they do even go after the chinese for a handshake... this shows they hv better attitude
kokcheng 06-17-2006, 10:39 AM malaysians rules in their home soil :)Likewise the Indonesians are unbeatable in their archipelagos.
hara^kazuko 06-17-2006, 10:40 AM China players are celebrating after won a point even though the match had not finished... Did you notice dat? Cai Yun jumped into the air and gave a fist... I guess u meant the wrong person
magical_phoenix 06-17-2006, 10:43 AM Seriously, there is no way u can call anyone a loser only by seeing things like that... That's HARSH! Sometimes when u're disappointed u just forget even the simplest things! I agree with yannie, it may SEEM unsportsmanlike, but not a loser.

Aiya.. come on.. u can't expect EVERYONE to have the same reaction after winning a point. Just because other players don't celebrate after winning a point doesn't mean that no one is allowed to.... Maybe Cai needs to do that to get more energy and fire to his play...

im just refering to a thread that said that KKK celebrated his win before shaking hands with Cai/Fu is a rude thing to do
EastDevil 06-17-2006, 11:18 AM Most of us only saw it from the TV and we might not get to see the whole picture. We should probably get more information first. Maybe Cai Yun simply brought his bag to his coach's side before walking back to shake hands? Maybe he was pissed off with some of the antics KKK did which we did not see on TV? Better to find out first.
Regarding the part of "loser", I believe x-ball's meaning is not as simple as its literally about "he did lose in that match". Its not nice to call them loser. Furthermore, as I mentioned above, we need more information first. Well, for the record, if using x-ball's adjusted meaning of "loser", CCM/KKK are "losers" too last week. In fact, all players had been "losers" before.
