I earned my MBA. Oh wait, I'm not on the Chinese or Malaysian Team. :p
Oh wait, I'm not even a professional badminton player. :p :p :p
In all seriousness, I can speak for the Chinese Team as I know a few old school players that were on the Chinese National Team; they have (relatively speaking), less education than the normal person because they are training all the time at Badminton Boot Camp, usually from a young age.

He can't be a full-time professional sportsman and be a part-time medical student especially he has been playing in the national team since he was 18-19... You can't learn to be a doctor that way or somebody gets killed. :p

Boonsak is a law student, either he's close to graduating or he already has. His sister is also in the same major. Most of the players in the Thai team are either a graduate or still in the process. They actually go to a regular University, but with special treatment because they have to take off a lot. The Thai team are really something. They manage to go to school and play at that level at the same time. They are soooo amazing....

almost all chinese players r very less educated. they broke up their school with 15 ot 16 and joined to the full time badminton life. doesn't matter if u r in the province team or already in the junior national team, they don't have school beside badminton ... just a few useless alibi lessons

Ah... then they produce more and more of those that are like the Beckhams and other premier league footballers that doesn't have much brains at all. :D

It looks like having had more years of formal education is correlated with a command of English as good as " ... very less educated. they broke up their school with 15 ot 16 and joined to the full time badminton life" and "footballers that doesn't have much brains at all", as well as the idea that one only gets his brains developed through formal education - I refrain from guessing whether it has been assumed that some people were born with no brains.

i tend to agree there. "brains" is a tough thing to define. while some players may not get the full tertiary education that most of us gets (or will get), i can safely say that all players will outsmart us in the badminton court, that to me is considered brains also.

Just as a note, formal education does not equate with having more common sense or logical thinking.
There are plenty of people in the world who think that because they've had school, university or postgrad degrees, it makes them better than other people. That isn't necessarily true;)

I suppose it is how one defines success... a PhD or All-England champ.. hey, either one works...

are you serious?? Lin Dan is a medical student!! omg, its really really hard to get into medicine... must have an almost perfect score to enter that course...and the course itself is no less than 5 years. really hectic... must be great to be in the national squad as well..
are you sure? maybe you refer to medical science?
