JAKARTA - Pengurus Besar Persatuan Bulutangkis Seluruh Indonesia (PB PBSI) kian getol mematangkan persiapan menuju Piala Sudirman 2007. Untuk mempersiapkan diri merebut kembali trofi yang kali terakhir direbut pada 1989 tersebut, PB PBSI akan menyelenggarakan simulasi di GOR Bandung pada 21 April mendatang.

''Simulasi ini diselenggarakan sebagai salah satu jalan membentuk tim terbaik. Untuk memberikan pressure pada pemain pelatnas, kami akan mengikutkan pebulutangkis nonpelatnas dalam simulasi tersebut,'' jelas Lutfi Hamid, manajer Tim Piala Sudirman Indonesia, kemarin di Jakarta.

Saat ini, PB PBSI telah menetapkan tim bayangan Piala Sudirman 2007. Ada 16 pebulutangkis pria dan 14 pebulu tangkis wanita. Semua pemain senior pelatnas masuk dalam tim bayangan. Di antaranya adalah, Taufik Hidayat, Vita Marisa, Luluk Hadiyanto, Gresya Polii, Markis Kido, dan Nova Widianto. Ada juga beberapa pemain muda seperti, Tommy Sugiarto, Joko Riyadi, Muhammad Rizal, Pia Zebadiah, dan Rani Mundiasti.

Sementara itu, pemain nonpelatnas yang diikutkan dalam simulasi nanti besar kemungkinan adalah pasangan Candra Wijaya/Sigit Budiarto. Ganda juara dunia 1997 dan juara Piala Thomas (1998, 2000, 2002) itu berpisah setelah Candra memutuskan meninggalkan pelatnas dan berpasangan mantan pemain pelatnas, Tony Gunawan. Sigit menyusul akhir tahun lalu dan kini bermain untuk klub Djarum.

Tampilnya Candra/Sigit diharapkan bisa memberikan tekanan tersendiri pada pebulu tangkis pelatnas. Kalau sampai pemain pelatnas kalah dari mereka, berarti tidak ada salahnya tim Indonesia diwakili oleh pemain nonpelatnas.

''Selain berencana mendatangkan Candra/Sigit, kami juga akan menyelenggarakan simulasi kedua pada akhir Mei nanti di Batam. Dalam simulasi ini, lawannya kemungkinan adalah Tim Malaysia, kebetulan pada saat itu mereka baru saja berlaga di Indonesia Super Series,'' lanjut Lutfi.

''Sangat Berat!'' tegas Lutfi mengenai kans Indonesia mewujudkan keinginan Presiden.

Hal itu disebabkan lemahnya sektor tunggal dan ganda wanita. Jangankan bersaing dengan Tiongkok, dengan negara-negara seperti Malaysia, Korea Selatan, dan Denmark saja Indonesia sangat sulit bersaing di nomor tersebut.

Sementara itu, sukses Malaysia melahirkan ganda pria tangguh Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong menjadi perhatian sendiri bagi Lutfi. Menurut pria yang sukses menjadi manajer Indonesia ketika juara Piala Thomas dan Uber tersebut, mereka sukses berkat kepintaran Rexy Mainaky memberikan motivasi.

''Bibit yang ada di Malaysia dan Indonesia sebenarnya sama. Kalau bukan Rexy yang pintar memotivasi pemainnya, mereka (Koo/Tan, red) tidak akan bisa menjadi juara. Makanya tidak salah jika kemudian kita meniru Rexy dalam memotivasi pemainnya,'' jelas Lutfi. (ang/indopos.co.id)

Candra/Sigit's coming to simulation, pelatnas hope to give pressure to the Pelatnas players. If they lose to candra/sigit, it means that there is a chance that indo team can have non-pelatnas plyrs.



According to Lufti, pelatnas players have to work very hard to bring back Sudirman trophy to Indonesia. Moreover, President RI Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) had said that he wanted the trophy for Indonesia when he visited PBSI which is located in Indonesia.

"Very hard!" Lufti declared about fulfilling what Mr SBY's wanted.

This is because Indonesia is weak in WD and WS. No need to speak about beating China, even countries like Mas, Denmark and South Korea is too hard.

With not counting WD and WS, INA team has got to be perfect in the other 3 sectors, which is MD, Md and XD, to bring back the Sudirman trophy.

"On black and white, it is hard to win. But, with teamwork and hard work of all plyers and coaches, we can show people an extra ordinary power." Lufti assured.

Because INA is the creator of Sudirman Cup so it's very embarrasing after 8 times INA always failed to bring back SC to its homeland. Sounds like mission impossible to grab the SC from CHN who totally very strong recently. On paper, CHN only needs 1 point from the other-3 divisions MS/MD/XD against any contingents : INA/MAS/DEN/KOR.

So INA must win in all-three divisions that we know really2 difficult. With togetherness and workhard from all players and coaches to born extraordinary power, is it possible?? That's a HOPE.

Of course China is the heavy favorite, Malaysia and Denmark is strong, but very beatable by Indonesia in MS, XD, and WD. In WS, WMC is hard to beat for Firda but Tine Rasmussen is beatable. In MD, KKK-TBH is hard to beat for any pair on Earth, but Jens-Martin is beatable.

Overall, ...I personally see Indonesia's mixed team as the 2nd best team on the planet [a debateable statement, I know]. :D :cool: :cool: :cool: Malaysia is a close 3rd and Denmark is the 4th. Korea 5th... not enough firepower in MS, WS, and XD agains INA...

WS : Firda plus Nana or Maria Kristin (still waiting upcoming SIN SS result)

Undoubtedly, CHN is the clear fave to defend SC this year meanwhile INA-MAS-KOR-DEN have an equal opportunity to fill one slot in finale against CHN.

And the drawing who-meet-who at group stage definitely will decide their next step. Hmm, very tense because every candidate outside CHN has no 'secure-point' to give certain winning.

*KOR as dark-horse/underdog position is still dangerous for INA, winner of the SC three-times (1991;1993;2003) of course they are not complement contingent but deserve to be counted on. KOR freezed INA 2 times in SC finale 1991 & 1993 and no impossible if they can do it again defeat INA at any round. Their player quality is not bad recently in WS/WD/MD division compare with INA. Hwang Hye-Youn; Lee Kyung-Won/Lee Hyo-Jung ; Jung Jae-sung/Lee Young-dae, I guess they are strong enough for INA so cannot look down for this team absolutely.

I've been a fan since I was a kid too... er but at that time, the idols were Ivanna Lie, Verawaty, Rudy Hartono, Liem Swie King, Iie Sumirat [Taufik's teacher], Christian, Hastomo, Kartono etc. While the top foreigners were Misbun-Razif-Jailani Sidek [MAS], Prakash Padukonde [IND], Luan Jin, Han Jian, Yang Yang, Svend Pri, Morten Frost Hansen, Li Lingwei, Han Aiping, Kristen Larsen etc.

Times have changed, players changed, but the legacy of the 5 great powerhouses of badminton stays [Indonesia-Malaysia-China-Denmark-Korea]... :D The other nations are inconsistent... India, Japan, Holland, Germany, Sweden, England, Thailand, and others are there... but never consistently threatening...

Maria Kristin is surely better than Nana! I can't believe PBSI is hesitating about this... Maria can surely compete well against the WS of Denmark, Korea, etc. If Firda gets injured, better put Maria there against Tine Rasmussen, Hwang H. Y. etc. rather than Nana! Against China... well it doesn't matter who we put there, ha ha ha...

Because Firda had good record at international tourney so far compare than Maria. Firda grabbed Dutch Open title last year (despite lack of top-players here) and Manila SEA Games 2005 Gold Medalist in WS individual competition beat MAS's Wong Mew Choo. Maybe this result gives consideration for PBSI to include her. But absolutely Maria is one impressive young-talent, she needs more2 competing experience in future days.

I agree that Maria is best INA WS in this time, feel weird that PBSI choose Firda without selection. I have posted my opinion that WS INA is Maria & Firda.
Firda didn't show good results in All England, lost to 2 Thailand player, Ponsana & Meemeak.

Firda is best potential INA WS but she can't resist on long rally.
Maria is complete players but din't have "finishing punch", need more reflex and faster move.
Nana has good coverage on court side by side but she don't have attacking weapon just send back the ball.

Looking the opponent.
WMC looked like knowing very well to beat Nana. She lost to Firda in Sea Games but she beat Firda on some tournament then
HWY beat Nana easily in Asian Games and beat Maria tough 3 sets in Denmark Open.
Tine Rassmusen, I think Tine can beat these 3 WS INA in normal condition but I don't know her condition after injury break.

FYI, in Singapore Open just now, There is another future Indonesian player rising.. Alamsyah, he played veri good actually, but Boonsak (beat Lin Dan yesterday), his rival in first preliminary was more experienced than him..

Yeaah, Alamsyah... Kendrick Lee of Singapore has never beaten him... LOLz.. And, during the Qualifying rounds, he beat Markus Wijanu, and man, Markus was bigger than him...
