I play many sports like badminton, tennis, basketball, ... and I think golf is the most difficult and challenging. I play many years and still shot near 100. I guess the top atheletes like Michael Jordan already excel in 1 sport and want something more challenging.

It probably feels more natural because it's his backhand swing. If he plays baseball/softball/cricket, he'd probably bat right-handed, too.

I remember reading an article a long time ago about Ivan Lendl's golf game and what he said when someone asked him why he plays (golf) left-handed. His reply was that because it feels more natural for him to use his backhand swing.
