View Full Version : Chen Jin's sportsmanship at Thai open finals
sweetgal 07-30-2006, 02:34 AM This guy i really salute.. hehe.. so sporting after he lost.. He gave chen yu a big hug after he lost.. chen yu is a fighter.. and i salute chen jin for respecting chen yu as a fully qualified player even if he lost to the world no. 25.. good sportsmanship.

Yeah, but its easier to lose to a good friend than a stranger or at least it doesn't hurt that much. At the very most, Chen Jin simply buys less Armani Exchange or D&G junk, no big harm. :D :p
EastDevil, i've noticed that you always mentioned about Armani or D&G junk. what isit about ?
On regarding Chen Jin sportmanship.. Its Chen Yu. If it's LinDan.. it will be a different story.

U got a point here. Never saw LD hug his opponent after losing a match .
LCW, PG and even Taufik did it, not LD :p

Oh, from the blog of Lin Dan's friend, there's always pictures of Lin Dan/chen Jin always shopping for those few brands everywhere they go. :D They simply are crazy about these 2 brands.

To be fair to Lin Dan, he might not be the hugging type especially the alpha-male kind of character types like Lin Dan. When was the last time you hug another man? :D :D

Probably its just a coincident that the picture was taken while they were shopping.

According to the blog, they look for these 2 shops whichever city they goes to.:D
Jessica 07-30-2006, 07:29 AM Ya...This is a very good sportmanship action...Although he is lose, but people will respect him because of his attitude...
EastDevil 07-30-2006, 07:35 AM Were there ever any player who was very unhappy or unsportsmanlike when he/she lost to their friend/teammate? Anybody remember such an incident?
hara^kazuko 07-30-2006, 08:00 AM Wong Choong Hann did that too when Lee Chong Wei won the gold in commonwealth games..
LazyBuddy 07-30-2006, 10:46 AM Let's don't take away credits from CJ for his good sportsmanship, be the fact he's a good friend with CY or not. We build our manner from normal life, which means, build among the ppl who see you, work with you or live with you everyday, right? It's not like you get a good/bad manner from no where, and suddenly show it after a tourny. ;)
yannie 07-30-2006, 11:31 AM Hehehe, Chen Jin will be happy to know what has been said about him here. =)
X Ball 07-30-2006, 08:37 PM Chen Jin has got it all worked out. He unsettled guys like Hafiz and then Chen Yu with his clever movement of the shuttlecock. If he keeps this up, I predict he will be next World Champion.
When I saw him a couple of months back, he not able to protect the shuttle. It seems like he has that covered now. Good on him. LCW has now someone to reckon with besides Lin Dan and Chen Yu.
What I saw was clearly a case of moving the shuttle fast all over the court to unruffle your opponent. Hafiz got tired by this and when he did, he tried trick shots, which failed miserably the other day. Chen Yu also plays the same way. Expect this style of game to win.
2cents 07-30-2006, 09:53 PM Chen Jin already holds a 6 star and a 4 star titles. Whie Chen Yu has nothing.
Chen Jin will be ranked at number 4 no matter he win or loss, while the win will improve Chen Yu's ranking by 2.
So Chen Yu must have been more hungy and eager to grab this ThaiOpen, and Chen Jin full understood it, so his sportsmanship is really a true blessing from the bottom of his heart.
Simp84 07-30-2006, 10:39 PM Chen Yu and Chen Jin are both coolest players from China.....
I support them fully! By the way how old is Chen Yu? Star wrote 20.. but i dont think so..
yannie 07-31-2006, 05:40 AM Chen Yu is 26 this year... Chen Jin is 20
Jessica 07-31-2006, 05:54 AM Chen Jin is 20...Can't imagine...He look older...
yannie 07-31-2006, 06:03 AM He isn't THAT photogenic, usually looks older on pics...
sweetgal 07-31-2006, 08:55 AM yea.. chen jin looks soo much older than lcw, kkk and lindan
X Ball 07-31-2006, 09:09 AM yea.. chen jin looks soo much older than lcw, kkk and lindan
The Chinese look older than anyone else. Must be something they eat ?
Does BAM check on usage of drugs ? Not suggesting anyone use this but just curious
Jessica 07-31-2006, 09:25 AM X Ball...What you means by this....Ha...Ha...

So are you suggesting Chen Jin doping
I heard Chen left his parent very young, and raised by a parents' friend who brought him into badminton.
I think Chen Jin trains too much. He definately look older than his age. Or maybe its a sign of maturity.
yannie 07-31-2006, 02:24 PM Faint... or maybe it is just the way he looks... he doesn't train more than the other Chinese players as he is not a junior player anymore.

I heard Chen left his parent very young, and raised by a parents' friend who brought him into badminton.
He came to Jiangsu very young, where the Jin family raised him and brought him into badminton. Chen Pengfei took the name Chen Jin after this.

not sure whether it was really him but my friend claims so.. anyways.. i was a msia open. there was this tall guy in normal casual clothes standing there holdin some other clothes. my friend said that he was chen jin and asked me to go ask for an autograph from him. so i went up and asked then he answered back in a very chinese accent, "i'm a worker here"... was i tricked?? has anybody fallen for the same trick?? haha

yeap!! that's him.. the one who tricked me.. he looks so diff tho.. looks years younger than he is on tv.. lol.. smart guy.. wonder how often does he use that trick..
nex-man 08-11-2006, 07:14 PM chen jin for me is the raphael nadal of badminton. like nadal, there is no point in the rally in which he even considers giving up. he is a tremendous effort player, even when he was 10 points up against hafiz he never showed signs of loosening his grip on the match.
cao ci dan 09-01-2006, 12:11 PM and now i agree with the title....'CJ's sportmanship'...he did hug LCW after the match although he lost...Good!!:D :D besides he's so cool..
black_knight006 09-28-2006, 01:35 AM U got a point here. Never saw LD hug his opponent after losing a match .
LCW, PG and even Taufik did it, not LD :p
That is because Lin Dan is a total head case. He's not as good as he thinks he is, not as technically sound as he thinks he is, not as great at the net as he thinks he is, not as great a smasher as he thinks he is. He's just fast and knows it. I don't know if he has a mental coach telling him that he is the best to ever play the game but he isn't and he should go into each match knowing that he could loose. He's been like this for a long time tho. He played against Peter Gade when he was 17 in the All England in the second round and even back then, 4 or 5 years ago he thought he was better than the worlds best players. He didn't even shake hands with PG. He has no respect for anyone and is loosing fans because of it. It looks bad for team China. Its a pity that such talent has to be marred by a bad attitude and ignorance.
